Chapter 12 Take off
Brian looked down at the vast white world, the Snow-covered Ground over one thousand feet below the Dragon's Lair, feeling a bit apprehensive.
Compared to his Dragon Brother and Dragon Sister, who mainly acted on instinct, Brian had more doubts and hesitations due to his higher intelligence. This made him reluctant to take off immediately.
Brian had a fear of heights in his previous life, feeling a sense of dread at high altitudes and often a suicidal urge to jump.
Though that feeling was gone now, he still felt a bit hesitant.
He muttered, "One thousand feet... If I fly poorly and fall..."
Brian took a deep breath, imagining himself smashed into a pulp.
But as a dragon, flying in the sky was his destiny, and avoiding it wouldn't solve anything.
Brian took several deep breaths of the icy air, calming his inner turmoil, and looked at his Dragon Wings, which were about the same length as his body.
With a thought, his folded Dragon Wings spread out, swiftly flapping.
As the Dragon Wings moved, the magical energy in the surrounding space danced liked sprites, generating a buoyant force around Brian's body, lifting his sturdy legs three feet off the ground.
He floated.
Dragon flight relied on a Pseudo-magical ability passively.
It was akin to a fixed flight spell , a very advanced one at that.
Although Dragon Wings were broad and powerful, their structure alone couldn't support the weight of a dragon's body.
Meanwhile, as Brian was test-flying, his Dragon Sister and Dragon Brothers had already leaped excitedly from the Dragon's Lair, soaring freely under the clear blue sky.
They displayed remarkable agility even on their first flight, as if born with the ability to fly.
Hill asked, "Brian, why aren't you coming?"
Hill twirled gracefully in the air as she turned to Brian, who was much larger than herself, speaking in dragon language.
Her voice was melodious and pleasant.
The two Dragon Brothers also looked at Brian, asking in dragon language, "Brian, are you scared?"
Brian glanced at Charles and Leonard and snorted, "Is that how you speak to your elder brother?"
He looked out at the vast white world, gazing at the distant golden horizon. Then suddenly, he flapped his Dragon Wings, leaving the Dragon's Lair with a gust of wind.
The biting Cold Wind and a few flurries of snowflakes hit Brian's body.
Looking down, he saw that he was over a thousand feet above the snowy ground, the snowflakes liked sand, covering the entire ground.
The imagined fear and discomfort did not come.
Brian paused for a moment, then felt a sense of expansiveness and freedom. His vision broadening, a surge of exhilaration filled him.
He immediately wanted to soar and fly in the endless Ice and Snow world, reveling in the icy thrill of the wind and snow against his body.
But there was something to do before that.
He shouted, "Let me teach you what it means to respect your elder brother!"
Brian's eyes narrowed as he looked at the two Dragon Brothers a dozen feet away.
Perhaps influenced by the White Dragon's evil nature, Brian's personality had become less friendly. Just as the two Dragon Brothers couldn't resist provoking him, he wanted to retaliate, teaching them a lesson.
Brian noticed the subtle changes in his personality from his human days but did not resist. Instead, he found it interesting.
He chose to embrace this change, feeling it necessary to show the Dragon Brothers who the boss was.
Charles and Leonard exchanged glances, understanding each other's thoughts.
Charles was the first brother born after Brian.
Leonard was the second brother.
A second later, they simultaneously flapped their wings and flew toward Brian, one from the left and one from the right.
Dragons were creatures that respected strength, especially Evil Dragons, whose familial bonds were incredibly weak.
Even Newborn Dragons fought to establish their status.
Although Brian was the eldest and larger, if his actual strength was insufficient to suppress them, these proud creatures wouldn't respect him.
Size alone did not determine everything.
Charles, slightly faster, quickly crossed the thirty-foot distance, his Dragon Claws reaching unceremoniously for Brian's face.
Brian lowered his head, his tiger-sized body charging.
Charles panicked under his imposing presence.
Charles was sent flying. Brian's Dragon Claws locked around his neck, pinning him to the snowy ground, creating a dragon-shaped indentation.
Then came a flurry of punches.
Charles who was unwilling to submit, straighten his neck, glaring at Brian and letting out a roar.
Before he could finish, Brian's Dragon Claws grasped his face, pressing it into the snowfield, rubbing it back and forth, his helpless whimpering continuous.
Though size didn't determine everything, it was enough for him to beat up the little Newborn Dragon.
Though it was not something to be proud of, Brian's violent tendencies were aroused, and he enjoyed it.
Leonard, who had charged with Charles, seeing Brian easily handle Charles like a child, immediately backed off, flying thirty feet in the air, watching the one-sided beating, not daring to intervene.
Hill, the delicate and beautiful Dragon Sister, flew up to Leonard, using a tempting dragon language as she said, "Why don't you help Charles? Otherwise, you'll get beaten too when Brian finishes with Charles."
"Go help Charles now and you might have a chance against Brian," she said softly.
Hill's intelligence seemed slightly higher than the average White Dragon Newborn, unlike the two foolish Dragon Brothers who dared to provoke Brian despite his size.
Leonard hesitated briefly. Then he gritted his teeth and dived toward Brian.
Brian's Dragon Wings swept, not even turning his head, directly slapping Leonard into the snowfield.
Then with a claw on each, he pressed their heads into the icy ground, making them intimately acquainted with the cold snow beneath.
Several hundred feet above, Hill watched and let out a cheerful, melodious dragon's cry.
She mocked, "Poor Leonard, tricked by the great Hill into getting beaten."
Minutes later, Charles and Leonard, thoroughly subdued, lay on their backs in submission, acknowledging Brian as the true elder brother.
Brian released the two, looking up at Hill, saying calmly, "Hill, I heard everything you said just now."
Hill's smug expression froze slightly. She warily looked at Brian and asked, "Brian, what do you want?"
Brian flexed his claws and said gently, "Fly down now. Let me punch you twice, and I won't pursue it."
"Or you can start running and end up like them, getting a good beating."
