Chapter 5 The Audacious Newborn Dragon

Brian slowly moved his steps closer to the White Dragon Mother, attempting to nuzzle her head and look adorable.

He was desperate for food and was willing to try anything.

He decided to use all his tricks to appear cute and pitiful.

When Brian was human, his cat always did the same thing. No matter how mischievous it was, it would put on a pitiful look and rub against his hand or leg as soon as it got hungry. Brian would inevitably give in and serve it the best food.

Brian hoped this trick would work on the White Dragon Mother as well.

However, just as most humans only found other creatures' babies cute while thinking their own were ugly, the White Dragon Mother looked at Brian with indifference.

Her gaze was sharp and cold, and she didn't speak, merely staring at Brian silently, making him feel a chill all over and too scared to approach further.

"Family affection among Evil Dragons... is practically nonexistent," he mumbled.

Pretending as if nothing had happened, Brian turned his gaze to the other four intact dragon eggs.

These eggshells were also slightly trembling, with fine cracks appearing and spreading on their surfaces.

The Newborn Dragons inside were moving their bodies, trying to break out of their shells, but it seemed it would still take some time. It was uncertain how many Dragon Brothers or Dragon Sisters would eventually hatch.

Dragons typically lay about two to six eggs at a time, and the White Dragon Mother had laid six this time, which was considered prolific among dragons.

The most common number of dragon eggs was three or four, with over ninety percent of dragons laying within this range. Only about five percent, like the White Dragon Mother, lay six eggs.

Brian murmured, "When my other siblings are born, it shouldn't be too much to take a bit of their eggshells."

The size of those eggs only reached Brian's chest, indicating that the dragons inside were likely normal-sized Newborn Dragons.

Brian looked down at his noticeably muscular and much larger dragon body, feeling a surge of confidence, as if he could take on four opponents single-handedly.

His tongue instinctively licked his lips as he leaned against the wall, moving stealthily toward the dragon eggs while pretending to be nonchalant.

The White Dragon Mother was still watching him, forcing Brian to hide his intentions.

But he didn't believe the White Dragon Mother could keep an unblinking watch on him.

Even if he got caught, perhaps the White Dragon Mother still wouldn't stop him. After all, stealing some eggshells from Hill might not be a big deal, but since he didn't know where the White Dragon Mother's limits were, Brian returned a small piece of the smallest eggshell fragment.

Just as the thought emerged, the ground of the nest, which covered in hard ice crystals, trembled slightly.

Brian turned to see the White Dragon Mother stretching her body, like a lazy stretch.

She glanced at the other slightly trembling dragon eggs, her pale yellow dragon eyes devoid of any emotion.

Brian had seen this look more than once.

Even though White Dragons had the lowest intelligence among dragonkind, with thinking closer to that of a beastly hunter, they were still quite intelligent compared to other species. They simply preferred wild instincts over thoughtful reasoning.

And the nearly adult White Dragon Mother undoubtedly possessed wisdom surpassing that of ordinary humans.

She probably just couldn't be bothered to deal with her own hatchlings.

Next, the White Dragon Mother slowly stood up, her massive body casting a shadow that enveloped Brian, bringing an overwhelming sense of pressure.

Brian felt a slight suffocation.
