Chapter: 135 Luna's Small Request
As soon as the Red Flame Staff appeared, the fire elements dispersed in the air converged towards it.
The temperature inside the Ice Crystal Palace naturally rose a bit, and the crystal at the top of the staff, which looked like fluid flame, shone brilliantly.
Luna's gaze was immediately drawn to it. After looking at the Red Flame Staff for just two seconds, she shifted her gaze to Brian, waiting for him to explain his intentions.
It was clear that Brian wouldn't take out the Red Flame Staff for no reason.
Beside them, Brianna, unaware of the secrets contained within the Red Flame Staff, looked at it with admiration and said, "Where did you get this staff? It looks of very high quality."
After speaking, she added with slight regret, "It's a pity it's fire-attributed."
Crystal dragons belong to the wind element and prefer to live in icy places, generally not fond of fire-attributed items.
"A high-level Spellcaster's staff," Brian answered Brianna's question but kept his eyes on Luna as he spoke.
This behavior made Brianna pout slightly in displeasure, but after glancing at the dazzling blonde, elegant, and beautiful Luna, she couldn't help but look away in disappointment.
"Morton's staff..." Luna whispered softly.
She looked up, gazing at Brian, and said, "Did you come to me because of the Red Flame Staff?"
Although it was a question, her tone already carried a sense of certainty.
Brian nodded and said, "When using the Red Flame Staff, I felt a connection to somewhere in the south."
"I want to know what this connection represents."
He looked at Luna seriously, their eyes meeting, his gaze deep and focused, his voice low and profound, "I hope you can enlighten me."
Under Brian's intense gaze, Luna felt her heartbeat quicken.
She hesitated for a few seconds, finally sighed lightly, and said, "Alright, since the Red Flame Staff now belongs to you and you want to know so much, I won't keep it a secret any longer."
Brian's face lit up with joy, and he assumed a posture of attentive listening.
However, Luna did not speak directly. She pondered for a few seconds and then said, "But before I tell you, I want you to agree to one condition."
Brian thought for a moment and said, "Tell me the condition first, and then I'll consider agreeing."
If the demand was too high, he might as well fly south directly, follow the staff's connection to find the destination, and figure out what it was.
But knowing in advance would always be better, giving him a sense of assurance.
Brian didn't want to go through a lot of trouble only to end up with something of no value to him.
Luna smiled faintly, dimples appearing on her cheeks, and said, "Don't worry, it's not a difficult task for you."
She glanced at Brianna and said, "I invited Brianna here mainly to help me teach those two children."
"Lilith has great talent in both the Enchantment and Conjuration schools."
"She can walk both paths simultaneously. I know some basic conjuration knowledge, and Brianna is skilled in enchantment spells. Together, we can guide Lilith to a certain stage of growth."
Brianna chimed in, "Lilith is very smart. Her talent in enchantment spells is much stronger than mine."
Her expression was one of genuine admiration, showing that her praise was sincere.
Lilith... Brian thought of the little girl who fainted at the sight of him.
Fair-skinned and tender, she indeed looked quite adorable.
Lilith also had blonde hair and fair skin, bearing some resemblance to Luna. If Brian couldn't sense that they didn't share the same origin, he would have thought Lilith was Luna's child.
However, because Lilith was too timid and fainted at the sight of Brian, she hadn't said a single word to him, so his impression of her wasn't deep.
Brian remembered the boy Amos, who was younger than Lilith but much braver than his sister.
At this moment, Brian's eyes moved slightly, and he roughly understood Luna's request.
She only mentioned being able to teach Lilith well, but since she needed Brian's help, the issue was definitely not with Lilith.
"You mean Amos?"
Luna nodded slightly and said, "This child, like his grandfather, loves evocation spells and has an extraordinary talent for them."
"Although his talent isn't as high as his sister's in conjuration and enchantment spells, it's still considerable."
"The problem now is that I don't know much about evocation spells, and the content in Morton's notes is too profound for him to learn."
Listening to Luna, Brian remained silent.
Morton's notes were like a professor's research journal given to a middle school student; it would be a miracle if he could understand them.
Brian, with his strong comprehension of knowledge, had managed to learn up to sixth-circle spells before being stuck due to a lack of foundational knowledge, which was already incredible.
On the other side, Luna continued, "I remember you once cast a fireball spell from the evocation school with great ease, so I assume you have some research in evocation spells."
"So... if you have some free time, I hope you can teach Amos some evocation spells."
Brian shook his head and said, "It's not that I don't want to help you, but in this matter, I'm powerless."
Luna looked puzzled, and Brian patiently explained, "My understanding of evocation spells also comes from Morton's notes. In Amos's situation, I can't teach him."
After a pause, Brian said, "In fact, I have similar troubles, which is why I plan to go south soon to acquire some foundational knowledge in spells."
After Brian finished speaking, Luna and Brianna exchanged a surprised glance.
Brian noticed their small interaction and felt a bit strange.
Brianna blinked her moist eyes and said, "You came at the right time. Sister Luna is preparing to go south, and I'm here to help her take care of the two children during this time."
Luna looked at Brian and smiled, "You probably haven't left the extreme north Ice Field yet. I know humans quite well; you can travel with me."
Brian was taken aback, not expecting Luna to be heading south soon as well.
However, he had no intention of traveling with Luna.
Brian knew very well that with Luna's kind nature, traveling with her would only hinder him from acting according to his own desires.
"No need, I prefer to travel alone."
Luna smiled slightly and said, "That's fine too, it saves us from potential disagreements."
She also understood that she and Brian were not the same kind of dragon.
