Chapter 69 A Bountiful Harvest

Brian's majestic dragon head lowered, emitting a breath so close that it washed over Amos's face, nearly halting the young boy's heartbeat.

The delicate and pitiful Lilith fainted on the spot without a sound.

Brian looked at the two humans without any semblance of pity or sympathy he might have felt for his kin like before. Likewise, there was no prejudice or disdain.

He regarded them with the same indifference he accorded to any other creature.

In his earliest days, he somewhat resembled a man draped in dragon scales, often reminiscing about his human life with many emotions. But as time passed, he became a true dragon.

Brian had long been aware of this transformation, but he never resisted it.

Be it human or dragon, he was simply himself.

While Brian was lost in his thoughts, Amos racked his brains, desperately searching for a way to save himself and his sister.

After several seconds, Amos suddenly grasped a thread of hope and shouted, "Honorable True Dragon, I wish to propose a trade with you."

Brian's gaze flickered slightly as he replied calmly, "You are already entirely my spoils of war. What could you possibly offer me in trade?"

Amos recalled the whispered words of the old Mage before his death, his face darkening before rallying himself and saying, "This space ring contains my grandfather's spell research journals and a wealth of valuable magical materials."

He extended his hand, revealing a delicate, gleaming ring.

Brian glanced at the space ring and said, "Although it is on you, it already belongs to me."

Amos shook his head, as he took off the ring proactively, handing it to Brian, saying, "The space ring requires a specific incantation to open.

Forcibly opening it would destroy everything inside."

Brian held the ring, observing it for a moment. He cast an Unlocking spell, but to no avail.

There indeed was a unique magical lock on it, cast by a high-ranking Mage that Brian couldn't break.

He looked back at Amos, silently waiting.

Fearing for his life, Amos hurriedly said, "I just want to survive with my sister. I sincerely request that you accept the ring and swear by the name of the Dragon God that you won't kill us and let us leave. I will immediately tell you the unlocking incantation."

"My sister and I will also swear by the God of Light that we will never seek revenge on you, in any way and in any time in the future."

The young boy's face was earnest and his words cautious as he awaited Brian's response

After inspecting the other magical items on them and finding no more storage devices, Brian stripped them of their magical items and then said slowly, "Give me the incantation, and I will let you leave."

Before Amos could be joyful, Brian's voice paused, and he added coldly. "But for an incantation and a ring, do you think a True Dragon would swear by a god's name? Is that possible?"

Amos felt nervous as he was unable to speak under the shadow of Brian's wings.

"What do you want?" Amos stammered.

Brian's gaze was indifferent, his voice enigmatic. "You could choose to trust a True Dragon's promise.

"Then, swear by the God of Light."

Amos's expression fluctuated, looking at his unconscious sister, bowing his head under Brian's calm gaze, and he said, "Mr. True Dragon, I trust your promise."

He divulged the incantation to Brian.

With the incantation, focusing his spirit on the space ring, Brian immediately sensed a cubic space of several cubic feet, inside which lay numerous magical materials, various staffs, robes, scattered magical gems, a wealth of gold coins and a dozen thick journals.
