Chapter 49 Extreme Northern Bear

Under the deep night sky, the world was a vast expanse of white where was covered in ice and snow.

Flurries of large snowflakes descended like white spirits from the heavens, burying the entire far northern Ice Field in a blanket of white.

The storm, with swirling snowflakes, severely limited Brian's field of vision. He had to ascend a few hundred feet into the air, scanning the snow-covered landscape for potential prey.

At this moment, he wasn't using his naked eyes to search for prey but was employing a detection super-magic.

Most Magical Creatures, unless they possessed innate camouflage abilities, had elemental energies flowing through their blood, which could be observed by Spellcasters in the form of super-magic.

Certain Mages would assess an opponent's power based on the strength of their super-magic, determining whether to engage in combat or retreat.

Of course, this method was only for reference. Any magical creature with the ability to camouflage could hide their extraordinary powers within a specific range.

For example, True Dragons, could not have their elemental super-magic detected by ordinary detection super-magic spells due to the strong anti-magic properties of their scales. With their superior vision and heightened biological senses, in general, if you sensed the presence of a dragon, it likely meant that the dragon had also noticed you.

Moreover, some Magical Creatures would display super-magic far stronger than their actual strength to scare off enemies due to the diversity of creatures.

Returning to the main topic, Brian employed his powerful detection magic to locate traces of magical creatures in the expansive, storm-battered far northern Ice Field.

However, in such weather, even Magical Creatures rarely moved about freely, most staying in their nests.

If the nest was sufficiently deep and dense, even detection super-magic would be rendered ineffective.

Given that there were more creatures and a greater abundance of prey further south, Brian decided to fly in that direction.

He felt that with his current strength, as long as he didn't provoke any legendary Mage-level enemies, he could almost do as he pleased on the continent. After all, dragons were at the top of the food chain.

He was gradually mastering the true abilities of a Newborn Time Dragon.

Though often deemed the disgrace of the chromatic dragons, the White Dragon was only considered inferior when compared to other True Dragons. An adult White Dragon was a powerful Magical Creature with the ability to roam across the continent.

Few would dare to provoke an adult dragon of any breed.

At his current level, Brian's body had evolved to that of a young White Dragon, and he had honed all the pseudo-magical abilities characteristic of such a dragon, rendering him indistinguishable from a typical young White Dragon.

The key distinction lay in his primary identity as a Time Dragon, endowed with formidable strength capable of venturing beyond the far northern Ice Field to unleash chaos.

However, he saw no need for that.

As long as the far northern Ice Field could satisfy his food needs, he wouldn't leave easily.

Brian employed energy-saving gliding flight using the turbulent Cold Wind. The membrane of his Dragon Wings felt the gusts, making a slight noise.

Gazing down at the expansive white landscape, his platinum-gold dragon pupils meticulously scanned every inch of the land below, seeking out suitable prey.

As he flew further south, the temperature rose and the snowstorm diminished in intensity. Brian spotted numerous ordinary beasts, including some large ones, as well as a few Savage Beasts.

Savage Beasts were special wild beasts that, while possessing no magical abilities, who had undergone mutations due to elemental energy, generally having extremely strong physiques and often being large creatures, capable of maximizing their species' abilities.

Every Savage Beast was a formidable hunter.

Brian had no interest in hunting Savage Beasts.

These creatures were extremely perceptive, with strong biological instincts, making them troublesome to hunt.

The key issue was that the rewards from hunting them were not worth it. Savage Beasts' flesh and blood did not contain elemental energy, making their meat no better than that of several Giant Hoof Yaks.

Soon after, Brian encountered a fierce tiger.

This powerful creature, completely white and measuring thirty feet in length, looked up at Brian, its body tense with limbs gripping the ground, poised to strike.

"The Silver Lynx of the far northern Ice Field."

Brian briefly looked at the imposing size of the fierce tiger before moving forward without turning back. Feline Savage Beasts were known to have tough meat and formidable combat skills.

Besides, Brian's focus was on Magical Creatures and not on engaging with Savage Beasts.

As Brian's Dragon Wings flapped, carrying him out of sight, the Silver Lynx of the distant northern Ice Field shifted its gaze away, settling back into the thick snow and patiently awaiting unsuspecting prey.

In the sky, Brian continued flying, scanning for suitable prey.

About twelve minutes later, his eyes lit up, and an excited expression appeared on his face.

A noticeable Elemental Super Magic had pierced through the snowstorm, catching his attention.

As Brian turned his head, he caught sight of an Extreme Northern Bear within his field of vision. The bear, entirely white with a robust, heavy body and fur resembling steel needles, was cautiously navigating through the snowstorm as if guarding something.

"Extreme Northern Bear..."

At first glance, Brian remembered the first meal White Dragon Mother brought back for the Newborn Dragons.

Maybe it was the novelty of encountering the flesh and blood of a Magical Creature for the first time that made a lasting impression on Brian's young mind.

The taste and texture of the Extreme Northern Bear had always stayed with him, particularly the chewy and delicious bear paw. Recalling it now, Brian's mouth watered profusely, and his stomach rumbled with hunger. The Extreme Northern Bear before Brian's eyes was even larger than the one the White Dragon Mother had once brought back.

As a very heavy and solid bear, if he stood on his hind legs, he could reach a height of over twenty feet, an undeniable behemoth, almost as visually impactful as Brian's thirty-six-foot length.

The dragon's body structure meant that a significant portion of its body length was taken up by the long tail and neck.

If Brian were to stand on all fours, his shoulder height would measure about eight feet, with his standing height reaching over eighteen feet, approximately half his overall body length.

Brian remarked, "This is just the right size to test a new ability.”

The Extreme Northern Bear was already an apex predator in the Ice Field, with a strong body and powerful Pseudo-magical abilities, making him rare to have natural enemies.

But unfortunately, dragons were among those few of natural enemies.

When Brian spotted the Extreme Northern Bear, he also noticed him.

Known for his aggressive nature, the Extreme Northern Bear earned his name by constantly being engaged in fights or heading towards one.

However, to Brian's astonishment, the bear standing before him only took a defensive stance upon spotting him, letting out a warning growl.

The sound of the growl pierced through the howling wind, clearly audible to Brian.

Brian didn't think much of it, focusing intently on the Extreme Northern Bear, his mind highly concentrated, taking a deep breath.

He tapped into the power of time, causing it to swirl around him and accelerate the flow of the River of Time around his body.

Acceleration State: Fivefold Speed.

With a sudden flap of his Dragon Wings, Brian's body transformed into a white blur, piercing through the flying snow like a straight line, rapidly diving towards the Extreme Northern Bear.

To the average person, Brian's flight at five times the speed was so swift that they wouldn't even catch a glimpse of his shadow.

This incredible speed transformed Brian into a colossal, dragon-shaped bullet, reaching the Extreme Northern Bear in an instant.
