Chapter: 141 The Evil God's Pet
In the blink of an eye, the dark green figure, like a beast breaking free from its chains, left the area ravaged by the Flame tornado. It crouched low, lifting its head to glare menacingly at the three True Dragons.
Brian focused his gaze on the dark green figure.
It was a massive creature, about thirty-five meters long, with a body proportion similar to that of a giant python, exuding a fierce and violent aura.
Its body was covered in dark green, almost black, rough scales. Two sharp, winding dragon horns grew from its head, and its spine was lined with hundreds of menacing spikes. Its gaping mouth was filled with razor-sharp fangs.
In addition, it had two Dragon Claws.
But only two, located at the front of its body, currently pressing into the ground, leaving clear claw marks.
This dragon-like creature was known as the Cold Forest Scaled Dragon, also called the Cold Forest Serpent Dragon.
"A serpent dragon species..."
Brian muttered to himself.
The Cold Forest Serpent Dragon belonged to the serpent dragon species, an ancient type of dragon that existed long before the True Dragons appeared on Earth. However, their intelligence was even lower than that of white dragons, and they were naturally violent and fierce.
There were many types of serpent dragons, but their overall numbers were extremely scarce, nearing extinction.
They couldn't even tolerate their own kind. They would only reproduce once in their lifetime, and the first hatchling would destroy and consume all the other Dragon Eggs. The adult serpent dragons wouldn't stop this, perfectly illustrating the concept of survival of the fittest.
Cliff Serpent Dragon, Ice and Snow Serpent Dragon, Heavenly Pool Serpent Dragon, Rocky Mountain Serpent Dragon... Stone Mound Serpent Dragon, Cold Forest Serpent Dragon...
Many True Dragons refused to acknowledge serpent dragons as dragons.
But they could use Dragon's Breath, Dragon's Might, and dragon language, making them undeniably dragons. In terms of strength, they were formidable. Although classified as a sub-dragon species, serpent dragons could rival many True Dragons of the same age.
Besides the most common True Dragons, there was another type of True Dragon that resembled serpent dragons, known as the Imperial Dragon species.
Imperial Dragons had serpentine bodies with four Dragon Claws, looking very similar to the Chinese dragons Brian had in mind.
There wasn't much recorded about the Imperial Dragon species in Dragon Heritage.
"The Cold Forest Serpent Dragon, there might be only this one in the entire northern Ice Field."
Luna looked at the restless Cold Forest Serpent Dragon and continued solemnly, "Be careful, don't let it bite you, and don't injure it to the point of death. Our goal is just to drive it away."
If the goal was simply to kill the Cold Forest Serpent Dragon, Brian's help wouldn't be needed.
Luna and Brianna needed him because the Cold Forest Serpent Dragon couldn't be killed.
The most troublesome aspect of serpent dragons wasn't their venomous fangs or their bodies, which were not weaker than those of True Dragons, but a power called the death curse.
Before dying, serpent dragons could cast a curse on their hated targets, lasting a lifetime.
Each serpent dragon's death curse was different. For example, the Ice and Snow Serpent Dragon's curse would make its enemies unable to withstand cold and low temperatures.
The Cold Forest Serpent Dragon's curse would make its enemies extremely vulnerable to Lightning spells, taking several times more damage.
The death curse of serpent dragons was a real headache. It was said that an evil deity favored the vicious nature of serpent dragons, treating them as pets and bestowing them with the Evil God's blessing.
When Brian heard about the serpent dragons from Brianna and Luna, he wasn't surprised they needed his help.
This troublesome creature couldn't be killed or severely injured. Otherwise, it might commit suicide in a fit of rage and unleash its death curse, which would be a huge problem. This wasn't without precedent.
At the same time, the Cold Forest Serpent Dragon below roared and hissed, spitting out harsh dragon language: "It's you again, disturbing my slumber. I will devour you alive! Make you howl in agony until you die!"
