Chapter: 159 Adding Money
Brian picked up the stone door, opened his dragon mouth, and casually tossed it in. The stone door disappeared into the interlocking fangs, vanishing in a blink of faint light, stored away in Brian's spatial ring.
At first, Brian thought the so-called lava demi-plane portal was some kind of teleportation array, but he had already learned from Luna that it was indeed a door. The stone door carried rune arrays, making it portable and much more convenient than a fixed teleportation array.
Although it was heavy, its size was manageable, and the spatial ring Brian obtained from Morton's belongings was large enough to accommodate it. As a high-ranking mage, Morton's spatial ring was of high quality, with tens of cubic meters of space inside.
The spatial rings Brian had obtained from some spellcasters in the human army mostly had only a few pitiful cubic meters, with the largest being just over ten cubic meters—a significant difference.
After storing the stone door, Brian looked down with an appreciative gaze at Grand Duke Thorn and said, "As the leader of a duchy, you have made the right choice."
Handing over the lava demi-plane portal so readily saved both sides a lot of trouble.
After speaking, Brian was ready to leave. He needed to return to the far north Ice Field and then head to the lava demi-plane to check things out.
However, as Brian was about to leave, flapping his dragon wings, Grand Duke Thorn hurriedly raised his head and said, "Sir Silver Dragon, please wait."
Brian's eyes flickered, his platinum dragon eyes looking at Grand Duke Thorn without emotion.
Seeing Brian pause, Grand Duke Thorn quickly said, "Recently, the people of Mocha Principality have been suffering from the harassment of an evil dragon."
"A red dragon lives in the nearby Carol Mountains. It has set its sights on Mocha Principality, frequently raiding us and even demanding the lives of our people to satisfy its hunger."
"Mocha Principality has already lost a lot of manpower and resources because of this."
"We hope that the kind and just Sir Silver Dragon can help the people of Mocha Principality drive away the evil dragon and save Mocha Principality from this dire situation."
"I, on behalf of all the people of Mocha Principality, salute you and will forever remember your kindness."
A red dragon... the leader of the five-colored evil dragons. Mocha Principality is really unlucky.
Brian shook his head slightly and said indifferently, "I don't need your remembrance, and that's your country's problem, not mine."
If it were a truly kind silver dragon, hearing about a red dragon raiding and eating people, it might get heated up and agree to Grand Duke Thorn's request because of the long-standing enmity. Silver dragons never hesitate to help weak humans.
But Brian was not a silver dragon. He just happened to have silver dragon scales, making him look like one.
Hearing Brian's cold refusal, Grand Duke Thorn was slightly stunned. He hadn't expected Brian to refuse so bluntly.
In his mind, handing over the stone door and then sincerely pleading for help should have made a silver dragon from the good alignment agree without hesitation.
Brian's answer was beyond Grand Duke Thorn's expectations.
However, when he thought carefully about Brian's previous behavior, he felt that the answer was reasonable. This 'silver dragon' seemed different from typical silver dragons, showing no compassion for the weak...
Grand Duke Thorn re-evaluated the silver dragon before him.
Tightly interlocking silver dragon scales, four rare and robust dragon horns, two black scale rings around its body... this was a unique dragon. It might not be a silver dragon... Grand Duke Thorn keenly realized that Brian had never admitted to being a silver dragon.
Perhaps, it wasn't a silver dragon... Grand Duke Thorn thought.
As Brian was about to leave, Grand Duke Thorn hurriedly shouted, "Sir True Dragon, Mocha Principality is willing to offer appropriate compensation for your assistance."
Since he was unsure of Brian's exact identity, he no longer addressed him as a silver dragon.
All true dragons love treasure.
Since he couldn't request the other party's selfless help, Grand Duke Thorn decided to use treasure to trade for Brian's assistance in helping Mocha Principality.
On the other side, Brian noticed the change in Grand Duke Thorn's address. However, he didn't mind, as he was not a silver dragon anyway.
