Chapter 8 Illusory River

If it was a magical Gemstone, then a substitute with the same magical properties was required. Brian slowly approached the diamond-shaped white crystal, refraining from any hasty actions for the moment.

Brian chose it not merely because he was drawn to it, but also considering the ice attribute magic it contained.

Dragons absorbed elemental energy with every breath they took from the world around them. Most of this energy washed over their bodies and dissipated, aiding in the growth of their scales and flesh. However, a portion remained stored within them, capable of reacting with unique substances within the dragons' bodies to be expelled as a deadly weapon when needed, which was known as the Dragon's Breath.

Thus, Dragon's Breath was not purely a magical ability or a pseudo-magical ability. Ordinary magical resistance had little effect on Dragon's Breath, making it a formidable and difficult-to-counter attack.

Among the Evil Dragons, such as the White Dragon, excluding the benevolent and Gemstone dragons, the average strength ranking was as follows, Red Dragon, Blue Dragon, Green Dragon, and Black Dragon. Their breaths were Flame, Lightning, Poison Mist, and Acid, respectively.

These four types of dragons inhabited places like Volcanoes, Desert Seas, Jungles, and Abysses.

The white dragon, residing in the icy tundra, ranked at the bottom of the list. However, it was often the target of adventurers seeking to earn the title of Dragon Slayer.

The White Dragon's breath was an Ice Attribute Magical Condensate.

Whether referred to as Frost Breath, Ice Dragon's Breath, or Cold Dragon's Breath, the essence remained consistent across different regions.

Brain muttered, "Use the breath to create an ice crystal identical in shape to the white crystal, while adjusting the magic concentration to avoid detection by the White Dragon Mother..."

hese tasks appeared beyond the capabilities of a Newborn Dragon.

"Just take an ordinary Gemstone without magic?" Brian felt a bit unwilling.

Nevertheless, he opened his dragon mouth resolutely.
Brian instinctively expelled Frost Breath successfully, akin to how fish swim naturally.

He continued, "How would I know if I don't try?"

"Even if I fail now, there will be another chance in the future."

If the White Dragon Mother knew how much Brian coveted her treasures, she would surely curse him as an unfilial son.

"Consider it practice and experience."

However, the White Dragon Mother's vigilance would only increase as the Newborn Dragon aged.

Thus, Brian hoped for success this time.

Taking a deep breath, Brian extended his Dragon Claws, exhaling frost upon them. By adjusting his breathing rhythm, the opening and closing of his dragon mouth, and the flow of magic, he controlled the frost to condense into the desired shape.

With the White Dragon Mother likely to return at any moment, Brian rapidly thought, pushing his brain to the brink.

Brian was pleasantly surprised to discover an extraordinary talent for the fine manipulation of magic, far surpassing that of ordinary dragons in this situation.

The magical energy, typically proud and unruly, was surprisingly obedient under his control.

What he anticipated as the toughest challenge turned out to be less difficult than imagined.

His skills improved rapidly, and within minutes, the frost in his mouth condensed from irregular ice crystal chunks to a diamond shape.

"Turns out I'm a little genius!" Brian paused, examining the diamond-shaped ice crystal in his claws.

The shape matched the white crystal, though the transparency was slightly lacking. At first glance, they appeared identical, but closer inspection revealed the difference.

Crushing it with his Dragon Claws, Brian then swallowed it, unwilling to waste it.

He peeked out from the Nest entrance. The world outside remained covered in silver, with no sign of the White Dragon Mother.

Brian stayed at the Nest entrance, occasionally looking out while slowly adjusting the transparency of the ice crystal he was creating.

During this time, Dragon Sister Hill stirred, showing signs of waking. Brian went over and gave her another dragon hammer, causing Hill to roll her eyes and faint again.
