Chapter 11

Jasmine

"Jasmine." Charlie called and l glared daggers at him.

"Wow, it is nice to see two of you here. I never thought of seeing both of you here at our family dinner party." I said coldly and Lydia averted her face from me.

"I am the one that invited them, sister. They are my friends and I hope you will understand." Juliet said and I signed deeply.

"Well, I think I have no other choice. I may sound rude if I throw them away. Even though I never want to see Lydia's face, I guess I have no other choice." I replied to my sister but Lydia never dares to look at me. She can't face me because of what she did.

"Can we talk, Jasmine? It is about us, please give me a chance." Charlie said as he held my hand and I pushed it away immediately.

If I knew that I would be seeing them here, the two people that made my life miserable, I wouldn't have bothered attending the dinner party.

"Please give me the chance to explain everything to you. Please let me explain what actually happened." Charlie said as he held my hand again and was about to drag me away when Romano did something that almost fled my soul. He punched Charlie on his face and I started panicking and couldn't even move my legs.

"Stay away from my wife!" He shouted thunderously as he grabbed Charlie's collar. Blood was already gushing out from Charlie's mouth because of the punch he gave him earlier.

"Why do you care? You can't stop me from talking to Jasmine!" Charlie said and he was about to punch Romano back when I intervened by slapping Charlie's face.

"Stop this nonsense! How many times have I told you that I don't want to speak with you, Charlie? There is nothing to talk about anymore because I am now married and the person you are messing with is your Alpha!" I yelled and Charlie looked at me disbelievingly.

"I don't care if he is the Alpha or not, Jasmine. I am desperate and willing to do everything just for the two of us to be together again. If I need to kneel in front of everyone here, I don't mind because I know that you still love me. I am begging you to come back to me, please." He said and he knelt in front of me with tears in his face.

"Charlie, you shouldn't be begging her. Look, she doesn't even care about you." Lydia said and I glared daggers at her.

"Really Lydia? You know what, I just wanted to smash your face right here because what you did to me before was still fresh in my heart. I can't forget how the two of you betrayed me!" I said as tears began to roll down my face.

I can't help back my tears anymore. It is not because I still love Charlie but with the thought of Lydia betraying me. She was my best friend and it hurts me the most that she was able to betray me because of Charlie. She had sex with my boyfriend three years and the incident is still fresh in my heart that it seems like it just happened yesterday.

"Sister, that is enough." Juliet said as she was about to hold my hand but I averted my hand.

"I think I am regretting coming here." I said as I walked away without turning back.

They were calling my name but I didn't bother looking at them.

Tears still streamed down on my cheeks and my eyes began to blurry but yet I didn't stop from walking away. I don't know where I was heading, all I care about at the moment is that I wanted to stay away from them and I just want to be alone, away from those that hurt me.

"To hell with them." I murmured as I hit a stone and it created a sound that caught the attention of a group of people drinking alcoholic beverages from one of the shops in the street. They all stood up and started walking towards me with an evil smirk on their faces. I swallowed hard my saliva as I smelled danger from them.

They were nearly approaching me and I turned back. I was about to run away from them when they also blocked my path. They cornered me already and I was so nervous that I was scared of what might have happened to me right now.

"Why are you running away from us?" One of them asked as he grip my arm. I tried to remove his hand but he didn't allow me. They were all smirking evilly and I tried to count them but I couldn't as they were numerous.

"Please, spare me." I started begging them but the one that was holding me refused to let me go.

"You are so beautiful, lady. Would you mind joining us?" One of them asked and tears rolled down my face because of the fear I felt inside me.

"Come join us in our small celebration." He said again.

They started dragging me and I wanted to escape but how could I since they are numerous and I was all alone. This may be my end because I don't know what will happen to me after they get what they wanted from me. They kept dragging me till we heard a loud and angry roar of a wolf. My heart pumped rapidly on my chest hearing the roar. The voice from the roar looked familiar and as we turned back, I saw a big black wolf standing in front of us and he was glaring at us like he wanted to eat us alive.

His sharp long and white teeth, the colour of his eyes, they all seem familiar to me. I have seen those eyes before and I shouldn't be mistaken. Everything happened so quickly that I couldn't imagine it as the wolf dashed towards us and started killing those men that were harassing me earlier. I sat down on the floor while my mouth gasped from the terrifying scene before me that I never dreamt to witness in my whole life.

The way the wolf killed them, it is merciless. I hugged myself and tried to cover my eyes to avoid watching the scene. Screams could be heard all over the place because of the agony that came from the men who were planning to do something to me earlier. After a while, I decided to open my eyes and saw that wolf staring at me. I swallowed my saliva because of how he gazed at me and blood was all over his mouth. The bodies of those poor men scattered everywhere on the ground and their heads were ripped off.

The wolf began to move towards me and my heart started to beat rapidly as I thought I was his next prey. The way the wolf was looking at me was way powerful and scary. It looked like he wanted to rip my head off as well.

"Please, don't hurt me." I begged but he continued walking towards me. My heart was still beating so fast and my body got weaker. I wanted to run but I couldn't move my legs.

The black wolf was already close to me, I closed my eyes waiting for his hard teeth to bite my body. Some seconds passed but I didn't feel anything not until I heard a chuckle coming from a familiar voice and when I opened my eyes, I was shocked to see Alpha Romano and he was naked.

"Why are you naked?" I asked as I closed my eyes again when I saw his manhood. My face reddened after seeing him naked.

"You can open your eyes now, Jasmine." He said and l slowly opened my eyes. I felt relieved when I saw him wearing clothes already. I realized that the wolf that killed those men was Romano. He killed them mercilessly and undoubtedly. I can't believe witnessing him kill.

"How did you find me, Romano?" I asked and he stared at me blankly.

"You are so hard-headed, Jasmine. I told you not to go anywhere without me but you refused and now look at what happened, my monster came out and I killed that bastard that was about to touch you." He said and I sighed.

"I am sorry for making you worry about me. I just wanted to stay away from them. They hurt my feelings three years ago and I don't know the reason why they came back." I said and he just kept quiet. It was a miracle that he didn't annoy me this time, maybe it is because I am not in a good mood to be teased.

"You know what, Jasmine. The first time I saw your ex-boyfriend, I wanted to kill him for hurting you….." He paused and I just stared at me disbelievingly as I wasn't even expecting him to say something like that.

"You didn't deserve that pain." He said and I was astonished.

"For real? What happened to you, Romano? You become an angel." I said and he glared daggers at me.

"Honestly, they won't like it when I kill, I am a demon and I won't hesitate to kill if they hurt you." He said and I bit my bottom lips and my heartbeats increased because of what he just said.
