Chapter 74

Jasmine

"They left already, my Luna." He said and I felt relieved. I slowly lifted my head and looked at him, he had already covered his body with the towel.

"Are you guys going out?" I asked him and he sighed before responding.

"Yes, we are going to rescue some wolves that were trapped on an island, Jasmine." He replied and I nodded my head. I felt strange all of a sudden and I can't explain why I felt something bad was going to happen.

"Can I come with you, please?" I asked but he held my hand and looked me deep in the eyes.

"No, you stay here, Jasmine. I don't want to risk your life because our mission would be hard. We will encounter a lot of enemies on our way and leaving you at home would be the safest place. I will leave Dennis here and will call your friends to keep my company until I return." He replied and it saddens me. I wanted to avoid being far from him but I realized that it will be difficult for him to focus when I am with him. Staying at home is the least thing I could do as I wait for him.

"Please be careful." I said and he cupped my face using his two massive hands.

"Of course, I will because when I return, I will love to have a baby with you." He said and I blushed. My heart melted because of what he just said.

"Please, promise me that you will come safe and sound." I said and he just laughed.

"Yes, my darling. I pledge to you that I will come back home unharmed." He said and placed his hand on his chest while saying that.

He promised me that he would come back safe and sound but I couldn't stop myself from overthinking. Although he is the Alpha king, I can't prevent myself from thinking what might happen on their way. I don't know what would happen to me if he were in danger. He is the most powerful Alpha king but I can't ensure that he would always be safe. He has a lot of enemies and I know that they are planning to bring him down.

"I will hold on to your promise, Romano, that you will be safe. Please call me from time to time to let me know that you are fine." I said and he nodded.

"Please, be careful too, my Luna. Don't go out of this no matter whoever that calls you. Please don't entertain them, okay?" He said and I smiled.

"Don't worry about me because I will be fine." I said and he held my hand and kissed the back of it and it made me close my eyes.

"I love you Jasmine. Always remember that you are the woman I love and whatever happens, my heart will always recognize you." He said and my heart jumped out of nervousness. I can't explain why I was feeling that way and it seems as if the words he said means something else. I wanted to avoid overthinking it but he words were making my legs tremble in nervousness.

"I love you too, Romano. Please be safe." I said and he took my lips and started kissing me. He dressed up afterwards and it took him six minutes to finish arranging everything he needed. He held my hand as we walked out of the room together.

We were still on the stairs when we saw his friends, my friend and his men waiting for us. They all turned their gaze towards us until we reached downstairs.

"The car is ready, Alpha Romano." Ashton informed him and it made me sighed. He looked at me because of the loud sigh I just let out.

"Everything will be alright, I promise you that, Jasmine. You don't have to worry because I am the powerful Alpha king of this land." He reassured me and I faked a smile. Like I said earlier, although he is the Alpha king, I still stop myself from doubting and worrying about their journey. Seeing everyone in the mansion, my doubts increased. It is not that I didn't trust my husband but I just can't stop worrying for his safety.

"I know but you can't remove the doubt I have, Romano. Every time you are away, I can't stop myself from overthinking, what if something happens on the way?" I said and tears streamed down my face. He wiped them off and pulled me to his embrace.

"That is enough, my love. Please I can't be able to leave if you are like this, remember I am a wolf and I swear to you that nothing will happen to me." He assured me and I nodded my head countless times agreeing with him. I tried to calm myself because he won't be able to leave seeing me sad. The mission is very important for them because they will be rescuing the lives of their members that were trapped on the island.

"I am sorry if I acted like this. Please be careful, okay?" He said to him and he nodded. He kissed my forehead and took a step forward but turned his gaze towards me.

"I love you and I will be back. I promise you that." He reassured me and I nodded. I bit my lips to stop the tears that were threatening to flow.

He left together with his friends, leaving me and my friends as well as Dennis. I heaved a deep breath when they vanished out of my sight.

"Don't worry, Jasmine because your husband will surely return unharmed." Ciara said as she tapped my shoulder to calm my nerves.

"Have you forgotten that he is the powerful Alpha?" Khloe asked and it made me let out a deep breath before responding.

"Yes, I know but although he is the most powerful Alpha, I still can't understand why I doubt their journey." I replied and they all stared at me.

"It is natural to worry about him because you care for. You love him and that is why you are worried about him so much." Nina said and I nodded my head.

She is right because the doubts and worries I felt are just natural. I cared for him. I don't want anything wrong to happen to him. Maybe I needed to have faith that nothing will happen to him. His friends and Beta are with him and I am sure that they will never let him be harmed. I was about to utter another word when we heard a loud sound closer to the mansion and it made my soul flee from my body. I turned my attention to the direction where the sound came from and I was surprised to see Dennis on the ground.

"What happened to you, Dennis?" Khloe asked him and he seemed uncomfortable.

"I am fine, d…don't worry." He replied and my mouth opened widely in shock. I can't believe seeing Dennis stuttering in front of a woman, a smile curved into my as I sense something. It seems like he is uncomfortable with my friends around, maybe it is the reason he fell on the ground. Goodness, is he crushing on one of my friends? But which of them?

"You are a stuttering man, are you sure you are alright?" Ciara asked and it made him blush.

"Miss Jasmine, I will stay outside the mansion. If you guys need anything, please call me." He said and did wait for my response as he scurried away from us. I shook my head and turned back to my friends.

"Alpha Romano's Delta is acting weird." Nina said and it made me grin.

"It is because of the three of you. I wonder which one of you is he crushing on." I said and their faces reddened as they tried to avoid staring at me.

"Stop mocking us, Jasmine. Let us get back to business." Khloe murmured and I just sighed.

Romano was still on my mind and I was still thinking about their journey. No matter how hard I try to push myself not to think negatively, I still can't.

"Are you alright?" Ciara asked me and I just nodded my head to her.

"Yes, I am fine. I need to go back to the room and take a cold bath." I said to them and they nodded.

I left them and returned back shortly. We just watched movies all day and Romano and his people are not yet back. It was already midnight, I tried reaching out to him but to no avail even all his friend's phone weren't connecting. I wasn't comfortable with the way I was feeling at the moment and I tried all my best not to think negatively but it didn't work. What if something has happened to him?
