"I can't contact them, Miss Jasmine." Dennis said the moment he walked into the main corridor where I was sitting with my friends.

"What happened to them? It is already midnight and they are not yet home." I responded to him and tears were threatening to flow at the thought of him but I blinked.

"I am sure that they are alright. Maybe they are coming home already, please come down. Everything will be fine." Nina tried to reassure me and I just heaved a sigh.

"I just hope that they are alright because I don't know what I would do if he is harmed." I said and they all became quiet. Khloe was about to say something and break the silence when we heard the sound of a car outside the mansion. My heart pounded as I rushed out immediately to meet my husband.

"They are here, Miss Jasmine." Dennis and I became emotional. Tears began to stream down my face knowing he is back and I was about to hug him when I saw him carrying a woman. The smile on my face faded away when I saw that the woman he was carrying was the same person that claimed to be his dead mate's reincarnation. What is she doing here? And why is my husband with her?

"What happened to her, Alpha Romano?" Dennis asked.

"It is a long story. Help me put her in a room and please call the doctor." Romano replied in his worried tone. It was as if I didn't notice me, all his attention on his dead mate's look-alike.

"Copy that, Alpha Romano." Dennis responded and Romano rushed inside the house. I followed him.

He brought this woman into our home and I wondered what might have happened to her. He carefully placed her unconscious body of Eve on the bed. She was wounded and I wonder what kind of weapon hit her.

"Romano.." I called my husband and it made him turn his gaze towards me. He ran towards me and hugged me tightly.

"I miss you." He said and I smiled.

"What happened? Are you alright? Why is Eve here?" I asked and he sighed before responding to me.

"I am fine,my love. We were attacked on our way back home after rescuing the wolves that were trapped on an island. Eve came on time the moment someone was about to shoot me and she got hit by the bullet meant for me." He responded and my mouth opened widely.

They were attacked and this woman saved his life, but for what purpose? Although, I should be grateful that she saved my husband's life but I can't stop myself from doubting her intention for doing so. I still remember what happened the last time when she approached my husband and claimed that she was his dead mate's reincarnation. I am not comfortable about this, it is as if something is going to happen and this woman will bring chaos into our lives. I am not being judgmental here but I have learned a lot of things in the past. I can't stop myself from overthinking.

"You made me worried, Romano. I am so happy that nothing happened to you. I don't know what would happen to me if you were harmed." I said and he cupped my face. He kissed me and tears streamed down my face.

"Don't worry about me because I am fine. What we need to worry about now is Eve's condition. I owe her my life and if it wasn't for her, I don't know what would have happened to me." Romano said.

"What is your plan?" I asked him and my heart skipped thinking of what might be his response.

"She will stay here until she recovers. We need to take good care of her because I owe her my life. She saved me, Jasmine." He replied and my fist clenched knowing that he would allow this woman to stay in my home.

I felt uncomfortable about it but I had no other choice. It was his decision and I needed to respect it. She saved my husband's life and it is our responsibility to take good care of her until she recovers.

"Okay, we will take care of her." I said to him and it made him smile. Immediately the doctor arrived and we were asked to go out of the room because she needed to operate on her and remove the bullet.

Romano's clothes were covered with blood and we decided to go to our bedroom and change his clothes. I waited for him in the room as he walked into the bathroom alone. The thought of Eve kept running through my head and I was thinking about her reasons for saving my husband. Thinking negative about her is not good but I couldn't stop myself from thinking that way. So many thoughts kept running through my head. What if she has a purpose for saving my life? What if she takes him away from me? I don't know what I will do if that happens. I just hope that she doesn't have any bad intentions.

Romano stepped out of the bathroom and my eyes widened from what I just witnessed.

Romano stepped out of the bathroom naked with a smirk on his face. My face flushed seeing his nakedness. My throat dried up because of how hard his manhood was, it was alluring me to hold it.
