Jasmine

"Wow, this food looks delicious." Tim said and it made me fake a smile at them. I needed to act fine in front of them and now it has been confirmed that he was with another woman since his friends were already at home.

"Perhaps, the three of you can eat the food, I guess I cooked a lot." I said and Harry and Tim sat down on the dinner table while was still standing and his eyes were on him. I bit my lips as I tried to stop the tears because I didn't want them to see me crying.

"You can join friends, Kenneth. I needed to go back to my room." I said and Kenneth signed deeply.

I was about to surpass Kenneth when he pulled my hand away from the kitchen. The next thing he did was almost flee my soul out of my body. He hugged me and I was unable to hold the tears anymore. The tears were flowing uncomfortably and Kenneth rubbed my back.

"You can tell me what happened." He said but I was hesitant to tell him what happened because I know he will be mad at my husband.

"It is nothing, Kenneth. I just missed my parents." Iied to him and pulled me out from his embrace as he stared deeply into my eyes.

"Are you sure about it? Is it because of your parents or is it because of Romano?" He asked me. He really knows me very well but I don't know how to explain the situation to him.

"I am fine, Kenneth. I promise, Romano and I just have a misunderstanding and I don't know but I got emotional so easily these few days. You shouldn't worry about it." I said to him and he just let out a deep sigh.

"If there is a problem, Jasmine, don't hesitate to tell me about it, okay? I am always here to listen to you and if I find out that Romano is hurting you again, I will punish him." Kenneth said and I bit my lips.

"Thank you for the care, Kenneth and I promise that I am fine." I said to him and he nodded his head responding to me.

I left them and was heading back to the room. My heart was still aching when I remembered what happened earlier. Romano's cold treatment towards me shattered my heart in pain, I am not used to this. Shortly, I heard the door crack open and I saw Romano. I stood up from the bed and approached him.

"Who was the woman I heard her voice, Romano?" I asked him but he didn't listen to me. He just stared at me as if he didn't care about me.

"Why do you care?" He said to me.

"I care because I am your wife and you are treating me coldly again, Romano. What has happened to you?" I asked and he shook his head and it made my jaw clenched.

"Can you stop caring about me?" He asked me and I was left dumbfounded.

Romano Pov.

All I could feel toward my wife at the moment was only anger. My heart is filled with so much anger for what her real parents did to my first mate, Evelyn. I just learnt about her origin as well as about her real parents. They killed Evelyn and they will pay for what they did to her. I am in so much pain after knowing that the woman I married was the daughter of my first mate's killer.

"Can we talk, Romano?" I lifted my head when I heard Kenneth's voice. I was in my office after what happened between me and Jasmine earlier. My brows furrowed seeing how Kenneth's face looks so serious. I am certain that he is here because of Jasmine.

"What do you want from me, Kenneth?" I asked him and heaved a sigh.

"You are treating Jasmine cold again, what happened, Romano?" He asked and I stood up from my chair and faced the terrace.

"It is none of your business, Kenneth and if you want to take her away from me, you can go ahead because I am breaking up with her. I will divorce her." I said to him, that is my final decision, I will push her away from me before it is too late and not until I kill her.

"Damn you!" Kenneth screamed and was about to punch me when Harry and Tim came in and stopped him.

"You have no idea of what happened, Kenneth." I said to him with my fist clenched already.

"I will you, Romano. You keep hurting her. She is crying just because of you!" He yelled at me and my face became serious because of what he said.

"I hate her, Kenneth. Her real parents killed my first mate, Evelyn. Tell me how I would react after knowing that she is the daughter of my dead mate's killer? They turned me into evil and you all knew what I have gone through in the past." I said to them and they just lowered their heads.

"You love your wife, right? Regardless of what happened in the past, you must accept her even if she is the daughter of Evelyn's killers. You love and I think you should forgive her." Kenneth said and I shook my head at him. I am not sure if I still love Jasmine because pain is the only thing I feel now. It was as if the nightmares I have gone through in the past were happening again.

"I pledged to Evelyn's grave that I will give her justice and I will find her killers and kill them. And you, Kenneth, you can't do anything about it." I said to him as I drank the glass of wine.

"You think I will allow you to hurt her? If you can't protect her then, I will do that, Romano. I won't allow you to kill her and I will never allow her to suffer from the faults of her real parents. She is innocent of the crime." He said as he walked away from my office. My fist was still clenched thinking about the truth I just discovered. I don't know what I should do about it now.

"Kenneth is right, Romano. Don't let what you discovered about her origin ruin your relationship with her. If you love her, you must choose her." Tim said as both of them also walked out of my office. Whatever they have said to me, my mind won't change and my plans will still be followed. I will kill Jasmine even if she is my mate. She is one of the reasons her real parents killed my first mate and her life will be the payment for Evelyn's death.

I picked up my gun from the drawer and loaded it. I heaved a deep breath before stepping out of my office. I went back to our room and found her laying on the bed. It was as if my heart shattered in pain seeing her face. My hands started to tremble as I was confused if I should pull the trigger of the gun. I can't kill her, sweat streamed down my face as my heart was pounding inside my chest. She was asleep and it was hard for me to end her life. She has become part of my life and I have loved her.

"Damn it." I cussed as I hid the gun at my back.

"Romano?" I stiffened in my direction when I heard her voice. She came closer to me and hugged me from behind. My fist clenched because of what she did.

"Let go of me, Jasmine." I said to her, trying to be cold towards her.

"You are hurting me, Romano. What has happened to you? You weren't like this before. Please, I want my husband back." She said as she started crying. Goodness, I can't stand hearing her cry, I wanted to hug her tightly but every time I remembered what they did to my first mate, my anger emerged within me. I am really angry because of what they did.

They killed the innocent Evelyn and I wasn't on her side when she was killed. I can't accept the fact that Jasmine was the daughter of her killers and seeing her in my house, makes me agonize in pain. It was as if she also fooled me. I know she is unaware that she is an adopted child. It was as if I wanted to kill her to avenge Evelyn's death but I can't kill her. The only thing I can do now is to hurt her and keep pushing her away from my life. Living in the same roof with her is killing me after I have discovered about her origin as well as about her real parents killing Evelyn. Seeing her face seemed torturing to me. It kept reminding me how useless I was that time as I couldn't save Evelyn's life.

"Get your hands off me, Jasmine!" I yelled at her but she didn't listen, she even hugged me tightly like she didn't want me to be away from her. I closed my eyes and removed her hands from my body and she sob because of my actions and then I walked out of the room. I left the house again and went somewhere away from everyone.
