Chapter 65

Jasmine

"Come on, we should keep going." I said as I took a step forward and my friends followed me. We wore our masks before stepping into the big mansion. Immediately we stepped inside the house, I couldn't stop myself from being amazed when I saw a lot of guests. We were about to sit down when the lights turned off and sweet music was being played. All the guests started dancing to the melody and when I turned around, I couldn't see my friends. I was certain that they were already on the dancing floor and I was able to take a step when someone grabbed my hand and pulled me to the middle of the dance floor.

"Hi, Lady. My name is Alpha Blade." He introduced himself as he wrapped his hand around my waist. My heart jumped out of nervousness when I recalled his name. He was the Alpha of the Pack that is an ally to my husband.

"My pleasure to meet you, Alpha Blade. My name is Jasmine." I replied as I wanted to escape from his grip and at the same time wanted to avoid being rude towards him. He was dancing with me and he is the Alpha of this Pack, so I should pay some respect towards him.

"Your name seems familiar." He said and I just bit my bottom lips.

"Jasmine is a popular name, maybe you have heard it somewhere else, that is why." I responded and he just chuckled. He seemed like a nice person and I don't feel any danger being around him. Although we just met a few minutes ago and I have never seen him before.

He removed his mask and my mouth opened widely. He had a charismatic appeal just like my husband. He also had a good looking face and I am sure that a lot of women will be running after him.

"Can you remove your mask?" He asked me and it made me swallow hard my saliva. I am doubting if I should obliged him or not but in the end I chose to obey him and I slowly removed my mask. His eyes widened upon seeing my face.

"Oh my goodness, it is a pleasure to meet you. I am honored that a beautiful woman like you graced her presence to my Pack. Where are you from?" He asked me and I just realized that into the hall. I don't want him to see me talking to other men because I wanted to avoid angering him more.

"I am sorry, Alpha Blade, if you will excuse me." I said as I ran away from him. He was calling my name but I didn't bother turning back to face him. I walked out of the party and ran back to the mansion. I saw a bench there and decided to sit on it and took a deep breath in order to catch my breath.

"Why are you running away from me?" My heart almost jumped out of nervousness when I heard Alpha Blade's voice.

"A…alpha, why did you follow me?" I asked him as I stood up from the bench and faced him.

"Is something wrong with me, Jasmine? Why did you avoid me?" He asked about his curious reactions and it made me swallow hard my saliva.

"Nothing is wrong, Alpha Blade. Perhaps, I am also happy to meet you but.. " I paused my sentence and it made him furrow his brows.

"My husband is here as well and he won't like it when he sees me talking to other men." I replied and he became astounded. He was about to speak when someone arrived and it almost made my world seem to stop from moving at the moment. My heart pounded when I saw my husband at the back of Alpha Blade. He is furious at the way he stared at me.

"What are you doing here, Alpha Blade?" Romano asked him and it made me bend my head to hide my face from them. I was scared of what my husband might be thinking now.

"I was running after her, Romano. This woman ran to this place after I danced with her and she told me that she is already married." Alpha Blade replied and I bit my lips out of nervousness.

"Yes, she is married." Romano replied and it made me raise my head a little bit to glance at him.

"You know her?" Alpha Blade asked and my husband looked at me with his blank expression.

"I know her because she is my wife, Alpha Blade." He replied and my heart skipped a bit because of what he just said. I couldn't explain the happiness I felt within my heart when he admitted to Alpha Blade that I am his wife.

"Damn it, she is your wife, Alpha Romano? I am so sorry, I thought she was just an ordinary person." Alpha Blade replied.

"No, it's okay. Just leave the two of us here for a while." Romano motioned the Alpha Blade and he walked away from the two of us. I turned my face away from him when tears streamed down my face, the way he looked at me, he still remained so cold. I can't figure out the reason for him to act this way.

"Where are the others and why are you all alone here?" He asked me and I heaved a deep breath before responding to him.

"They left when the sweet melody was being played." I replied and I was trying to hide my son from him.

"Why did you allow Blade to dance with you?" He asked me.

"He just pulled me to the dance floor and I wanted to avoid being rude so I let him dance with me. Besides, I am alone because you chose to avoid me. What is wrong, Romano? Why are you avoiding me?" I asked as I faced him with my teary face. He looked at me with his astounded reaction.

"Why are you crying?" He asked as he wiped the tears off my face. He wrapped his hand around my waist and pulled me to his embrace. I became more emotional because of what he did and I buried my face in his chest and cried there silently.

"Why are you always making me feel like this, Romano. You scared me to death with your coldness." I said and he rubbed my back to comfort me.

"I am so sorry, Jasmine if I avoided you. Something happened the last time you felt unconscious." He responded and it made me stop crying. He pulled out from his embrace and motioned me tk me to sit on the bench.

"Please tell me what really happened. Don't hide anything from me." I said and he just sighed.

"Maybe it is time for me to tell you everything and the reason why I was avoiding you these few days, Jasmine." He said and I nodded.

"I need you to tell me everything because I am sick and worried about the reason for your coldness towards me again." I said and he held my hands and looked deeply into my eyes as he started explaining everything to me.

"Evelyn and I talked." He said and it made my mouth open widely. It seems impossible to believe.

"H..how did the two of you talk?" I asked him and he was still busy staring into my eyes.

"It was because of you, Jasmine. Thanks to Maya, Evelyn was able to use your body and talked to me. She told me that she is happy in the hands of the moon goddess. She even told me that her killer was a woman." He said and my head couldn't digest the words that he just said to me.

What confused me more is that she used my body to speak to Romano. Everything seemed hard to believe and I couldn't bring myself to believe it.

"Did she know her name?" I asked him and she shook his head responding to me.

"She couldn't remember her name. She also begged me to take good care of you. She is asking for help for you and herself." He said and my heart flattered because of what his dead mate told him. She is really a kind-hearted woman, all I thought was that she wouldn't like me being Romano's replacement mate. I am happy that she said those words to Romano and I am also happy that both of them were given another chance to speak with one another using my body.

It will help Romano a lot for him to move on from his dark past. It would be a great help to stop from killing and let the law investigate the case of his dead mate. I just hope that she was able to convince him because I hate seeing him kill. I wanted him to live a normal and peaceful life.
