Chapter 53

Jasmine

"Alpha Romano, the dungeon id ready for your arrival. I have informed the guards that you were coming with your Luna?" One of them said and looked at him. Romano wrapped his hand around my waist seeing how nervous I felt and his actions made me smile.

"That is good." He replied as he held my wrist and we started walking towards the dungeon. We were following behind the man's back and I am sure he is going to be our guide to the dungeon. In a few minutes, we arrived in front of a big and tall wall. I saw so many guards, guiding the place.

"It is our pleasure to see you, Alpha Romano and Luna Jasmine." They greeted us and I smiled at them. Romano ignored them and I couldn't stop myself from shaking my head at what he did. He didn't even care about them, we continued walking inside until I noticed that the path we were heading towards was underground. I held Romano's hand tightly and closed my body toward his. He chuckled because of what I did before wrapping his hand around my waist.

"I am here with you, Jasmine so you don't have to worry." He assured me and I smiled.

A loud noise could be heard as we got closer to the place. The noise was echoing throughout the whole place and it made the strand of my hair stand on end because of fears. I took a deep breath to wash the fears away from my system and as well as convince myself that everything would be fine. My head turned to the right when someone whistled and my eyes fixated on a woman that was on chains and she was smirking at us. She was wearing a purple dress and there was a grin on her face as she looked at me.

"Alpha Romano, you have a beautiful mate." The woman and she were about to grab my dress but Romano pulled me away from her. She almost caught me and I could hear my heart pounding because of what just happened.

"Anna, it has been a long time since you were in this cell." Romano said and it made me look at him with my curious reactions. Did he know this woman?

"How is your mate, Evelyn?" Is she dead now?" She asked and I could feel the intensity on him as he tightened his grip on my wrist.

"Why do you care?" He replied and we were about to walk away from that cell and the woman spoke again.

"You can't hide the truth from me, Romano. Evelyn died already, how sad her fate was. I told you before that you would never be happy with her." The woman said and I was so curious about her words. I don't know and I am certain that our paths have never crossed before.

"Shut up, Anna. Whatever happened to Evelyn is none of your business. You are going to die in the dungeon and you will surely pay for what you did to her." He said as he released his grip on me and faced the woman.

"Even if I was here, someone would have killed her, Romano and the lady beside you will be the next target. Women are obsessed with you but there is someone that is ready to kill just to have you all by herself." She said and her words forced me to swallow hard my saliva. Romano pulled her hair but she seemed not to care. She was just smirking at him and I am certain that this woman is not scared of him at all.

"And you are one of them, Anna." Romano said as he released her hair.

"I swear to you that your life and your new mate's life will be a living hell when I get out of this cell, Romano." She said but Romano just shook his head responding to her.

"Only if I will allow you to leave this cell alive." He said and pulled my hand away from her.

The woman started screaming as we walked away but we weren't concerned about her anymore as we continued walking throughout the dungeon. Apart from the woman, there were still other prisoners that were staring at us. Some of them were in chains as well and I wanted to ask Romano the reason why they needed to be chained but my queries were answered when they started founding. A lot of people were inside the dungeon and I couldn't stop myself from feeling pity for them. Being chained in the dungeon for a lifetime and you can only get out once you are dead is quite heartbreaking.

The rules of my kind compared to the rules of the wolf kind are way different. There is no appeal here, if you are caught doing something that goes against the rules, you will be given a star. If you commit another mistake, they will hurt you and put you here in the dungeon without judgement.

"Who is that woman, Romano?" I asked him and he stopped and looked at me.

"Anna was Evelyn's best friend. She was obsessed with me in the past and wanted to kill Evelyn but she failed. I almost killed her but Evelyn stopped me, we gave her another chance but she wasted it. She killed her parents and was proven guilty, that is why she is here." He replied and I nodded.

"But, why did she kill her family?" I asked and he held my hand as he looked into my eyes.

"Because she is a psychopath killer. She murdered her family and threw their bodies into the sea." He replied and I could feel the strand of my hair stand on end because of what he just said.

Anna is a psychopath killer, she even killed her own family. That is insane to think about. Whatever her reasons might be, I am not interested in knowing it. My blood boiled because of the thought that she killed her family. She deserves to be chained inside this dungeon for eternity. A killer like her doesn't deserve a second chance.

"Is she a wolf?" I asked him and he nodded.

"Yes, she is a wolf." He replied and I nodded my head.

He held my hand again as we continued our tour into the dungeon. I focused my attention on the other prisoners but the thought of Anna still popping through my head. My head started aching and I rubbed my forehead with my other hand. Romano noticed it and stopped.

"Are you okay?" He asked and I looked at him but his face seemed spinning in my eyes. My sight started to blurry and the next thing, I fell unconscious without no reason.

Romano Pov

I watched Jasmine losing her consciousness and I caught her before she fell to the ground. Goodness, I was scared to death because of what just happened. She is unconscious and I am so worried about her. I carried her in a bridal style and ran out of the dungeon, she was still breathing and not moving her body.

"Get the car ready, Ashton!" I yelled at my Beta as he ran and opened the door of the car. I laid her comfortable on my thighs as I entered the car.

"Do we need to take her to the hospital, Alpha Romano?" Ashton asked.

"No, she will stay in the mansion. I will call Harry to bring the doctor home." I replied to him and he nodded as he started the car engine and drove off.

My attention was on Jasmine and I could help but feel anxious about her situation. I remembered the last time she was unconscious and the doctor told me that her body is tired. I am so worried about her now and I will blame myself if something ever happens to her. She is the woman I love now and losing her might be my downfall. I rather lost my power than losing her. She is my life and losing her will make my life miserable again. I can't afford to be separated from her again because the last time I did, my wolf and I agonized in deep pain. She is the only thing I have now and money and fame can't replace her. I have lost my first mate and I won't allow my second mate to be taken away from me again.
