Chapter 64

Jasmine

"Your friends are waiting for you at the main corridor and you are leaving with them." I heard his voice and I was thrilled to see him sitting on the couch. I was about to hug him but he stood up and distanced himself from me.

"Why are you acting so cold towards me, Romano?" I asked him out of curiosity but he just stared at me with his cold expression.

"I am tired, Jasmine." He replied and then left the room. I heaved a sigh the moment he left. What is the problem?

He is acting cold again after what happened to me yesterday. Am I a burden to him? Or does he have other issues? Whatever it is, I needed to understand him. He didn't hurt me, he was only acting weird. I am still clueless about what actually happened yesterday and I wanted to ask him about it but how could I do that if he is avoiding me?

"You are being so cold-hearted Alpha Romano." I murmured to myself as I walked into the closet to change. I stepped out of the room after some minutes and saw my friends waiting for me in the main corridor. I wandered my eyes at every corner of the room hoping to see Romano but he was nowhere to be found.

"Are you ready to leave, Jasmine?" Ciara asked and I furrowed my brows.

"Where are we going?" I asked in my curious face.

"Alpha Romano told us to accompany you to where the masquerade ball ceremony will be held. He left already with his friends and his Bata." Khloe replied and bit my lips to stop myself from sobbing. I felt disheartened because of what Romano did but I needed to act well in front of my friends. They shouldn't find out that Romano is acting weird towards me again.

"Don't worry, Miss Jasmine because I was assigned by the Alpha to guide you all there." Dennis said and I just nodded responding to him.

"I have almost forgotten that we have a masquerade ball ceremony to attend." I said and my friends chuckled.

"Don't worry about our dress because Alpha Romano said the Pack will provide it for us." Nina said and I just nodded.

"Can we go now?" I asked and they all smirked. I am certain that my friends would enjoy the party. It is a ceremony held in another Pack and it seems so interesting but it would have been more fun if I were to go there with my husband.

"Sure." They replied as they stood up from the couch and we walked out of the house together to where the cars were waiting for us. Romano left some of his men and Dennis to guide me. Although he was acting cold, he still didn't want to risk my security.

We all drove off to the ceremony venue and it turns out that the Pack was Romano's ally. I was a little bit excited as well and it took us about one and half hours to reach the Pack. The Pack was ruled by an Alpha named Blade. The place was abundantly rich with trees, the place looks so modern and I am certain that the Alpha must be a billionaire loke like Romano. We stopped in front of a big and beautiful house, my mouth agape seeing this kind of house but our new mansion is more beautiful than it.

"Goodness, this place is cool as well." Ciara said and I just smiled.

"We are going to stay here for four days, Miss Jasmine. Alpha Romano said we shouldn't only just attend the ceremony but we should also explore the Pack of Alpha Blade." Dennis said and I smiled.

"Where is Romano, Dennis?" I asked him and all of them kept quiet. My friends were also waiting for his response.

"Alpha Romano is already here but he is not staying in this house. He told me earlier that he would meet us at the ceremony." Dennis replied and I felt disheartened. I can't believe that Romano didn't want to come along with me, maybe he is busy. Because I love him, I need to understand him as well.

"Can we go inside now?" I asked just to change the topic because my friends seemed to doubt what was happening and I wanted to avoid their questions. They will be mad at Romano if they learn that he is acting cold towards me again.

"Yes, Miss Jasmine." Dennis replied and we drove the car inside the house. We stepped out of the car as we parked at the parking lobby.

"Is this house owned by Alpha Romano?" Khloe asked Dennis and he nodded.

"Wow, Alpha Romano must be a multi billionaire businessman." Nina said and her reaction was priceless. Her eyes wandered around the place and I am certain that she was astounded by what she saw.

"You are right, Nina. Our friends are lucky to have Alpha Romano." Ciara said and it made me blush.

"Well, money is not what I wanted from Romano. It is his love and I don't care how rich he is. I love him because of who he was and not because of what he had." I replied and they looked at me with their priceless expression. They were still looking at me with shock written all over their faces and I laughed at them. I am sure that they were shocked because of my words.

"We knew that, Jasmine and we are so proud of us." Khloe said and it made me smile.

"You are a kind-hearted woman who is not obsessed with materialistic things. What you are looking for is true love and we are so proud of you, Jasmine." Nina added and it made my heart flattered how well my friends knew me.

"As long as we are here, we will always support you with your happiness. We will not let anyone degrade you and we are here to defend you, Jasmine." Ciara said and I just smiled. I am lucky that I have them as my friends, they are always here whenever I need them the most. Regardless of what happened to me in the past, they never leave me and they are always there to comfort me. Tears stream down my face because of their words.

"You guys are making me cry." I said and wiped the tears off my face. My friends burst out laughing and then hugged me. We remain in each other's embrace until I insist on separating.

We went inside the house and each of us chose the room we were going to stay in. I entered my room and sat down on the bed, thinking about Romano. I couldn't understand myself, it seems like I wanted him by my side. My life feels incomplete when he is far away from me. Romano is my happiness and being far away from him seemed like torturing and I just hope that he felt better now wherever his is and would come back to his sweet personality.

The event that took place yesterday still kept popping up in my head and I sighed. I am still confused about what actually happened when I felt unconscious and it seems like there was something I needed to know. Romano will be the one to answer all my questions but he distances himself from me. I took a deep breath as I changed my clothes and stepped out of my room to meet my friends. I was also waiting for Romano's arrival, it is getting dark already but he isn't here yet. My friends and I got ready to attend the masquerade ball ceremony and since it is masquerade, we were wearing different masks to cover our faces.

"Even though you are wearing a mask, your beautiful face couldn't be hidden, Jasmine." Khloe said and I just smiled at her.

We left the house exactly at eight o'clock in the night, Dennis told us the venue for the party and it wasn't far from the house Romano bought. I could feel the quickened pumps of my heart as we were getting closer to the venue. My heart was beating fast not because I am going to meet different people but because of the thought that I will see my husband there and I was hoping that he would speak with me.

"We are here." Dennis said and it made my heart almost jump out of nervousness. I wandered my eyes throughout the place and saw numerous luxury cars parked at the parking lobby but what caught more of my attention was Romano who just stepped out of the car. My heart flattered seeing my husband but I was shocked when I saw that he was with another woman. He helped the woman step out of the car and my heart crushed.

"Who is with him?" Ciara asked and it seemed like I couldn't move my mouth.

"This man is really getting on my nerves." Khloe said and she was about to confront Romano but Dennis uttered a word that stopped her.

"This woman is Alpha Blade's sister. Don't worry because Alpha Romano just accompanies her and it is part of the job of being an Alpha." Dennis replied and it made me sighed. I understand the situation and no more thing, I needed to trust Romano. Everything will be fine, I just hope so.
