"Listen to me Jasmine, I am willing to tell you about everything." He said and I just shook my disagreement.

"If you are doing this to persuade me to go back to your life and be your replacement mate again then, you can leave now because I will never come back to your house again." I said while turning my back on him.

"No, it is not like that, Jasmine. I came here just to beg you to listen to my explanation and not to persuade you to be my replacement mate again." He replied and I turned and looked at him disbelievingly.

"Come on,Romano. Let us not fool ourselves anymore. Stop pretending that you cared for me because I would like to remind you that I will never believe your words any longer. I am done with you and your explanation, please leave this place now!" I yelled but he was not even concerned about my tone as he was still standing facing me.

"All I am asking is that you listen to my explanation, Jasmine. I love you and I just realized that when you left me." He said and although his words were so convincing but as I have stayed earlier, I won't ever believe him again.

What he did next shocked me. The powerful Romano kneels in front of me. I couldn't believe that a demon like him was kneeling in front of me in public.

"Don't get me upset, Romano!" I warned him but he wasn't even concerned about what I just said.

"I am begging you, Jasmine. Please just for once, listen to my explanation." He said and my eyes widened. He is crying and I was totally shocked to see him doing such.

"Stop your acting!" I screamed on top of my lungs but he didn't move.

"I love you, Jasmine and that is the only truth. All I thought was that I won't be able to love a human being like you and I promised myself that I won't ever replace my dead mate but I was totally wrong. The moment you came into my life, when you became my replacement mate, you brought changes to my life. I wasn't paying attention to it then but believe me, o have realized all my mistakes now. I couldn't believe that a demon like me would fall in love with a woman of your kind." He said.

His words melted my heart, it looked so convincing. The Romano I knew will never bag me like this if he is sincere about his words. What if he has really fallen in love with me? What should I do now?

"I…. don't know, Romano. Everything that happened to us in the past, it is so hard to believe your words anymore. You are still Romano Kelvin, the heartless and lethal Alpha of your Pack. How could I believe you again when you have already betrayed my trust in the past?" I asked and he sniffed.

"Jasmine….." He murmured and continued sobbing and I roamed my eyes around the surroundings and all the people behind us were gossiping.

"Please, tell me what to do to regain your trust." He said and I just bit my lower lip. I took a deep breath before responding.

"Give me time, Romano. Come back in five days time but I couldn't tell if I am going to forgive you or to believe you yet. Just expect nothing." I said and he stood up from kneeling on the floor. He held my wrist but I didn't bother looking at his face.

"I will come back here in the next five days and I promise you that I will resolve our problem and make amends." He said as he let go of my wrist and walked away from me. I tried my best not to look at him, I wanted to hug him earlier and tell him how much I have missed him but I stopped myself because I don't know if all of this is just an act.

After he left the coffee shop, I continued doing my work and finished around eight o'clock in the night. The small apartment I rented wasn't far from the coffee shop and I was walking in the hallway when my phone rang. I picked it up and saw Nina's name on the screen. My brows furrowed as I clicked the answer button.

"Jasmine." She called and it made my heart jump with nervousness. I felt a bit strange in her tone.

"It is Romano, he is at the hospital." She added and tears streamed down my face immediately.

"W…what happened?" I asked and couldn't form a proper sentence because all my body was shivering.

"He had an accident on his way back home." She replied and my phone fell from my hand as I started crying.

He is in danger and it seemed so unbelievable. After a few moments of sobbing, I was able to gather myself back and headed to the hospital that he was admitted to. I could feel the quickened pumps of my chest as I was on my way. Nina texted me the address of the hospital and I couldn't stop to condemn myself for being responsible for what happened to him. I was so scared and nervous at the same time thinking about him being in a severe condition. Losing him would be the greatest failure in my life and I can't be able to forgive myself if that happens. Losing Romano would be my greatest destruction.

In a few minutes, I arrived at the hospital and rushed inside. I tried to ask the nurses the room he was in and they gave me the number number. I could feel my legs trembling in fear as I was getting closer to his room. I took a deep breath before entering the room. His friends were already there and they glanced at my direction when they noticed my presence. My eyes were focused on Romano who was sitting on the hospital bed and he was staring at the window side.

"Romano!" I called his name and it made him turn his gaze at me. Our eyes met with each other and I could feel my heart skip as I noticed his stony expression again. I grinned my teeth to stop myself from sobbing.

"What are you doing here?" He asked and tears streamed down my face when I felt the coldness in his voice.

"The two of you need to talk." Tim said as they went out of the room. I was standing in front of him and I could feel my legs trembling.

"Romano, are you alright?" I asked and stared deep into my eyes.

"Why are you so worried about me? I deserve this because I am just a jerk." He said and I burst out crying as I couldn't control it anymore. He is really making my heart melt.

"I am worried because I love you. Losing you is my greatest fear, Romano." I said to him.

"What did you just say?" He asked and I slowly lifted my head to look at him. He is now grinning and it made me confused.

"W….what?" I asked, stuttering.

"Come over here, Jasmine." He commanded and which I obliged. I couldn't explain myself either, he held my hand the moment I came closer to him.

"You love me?" He said with a serious face and it made me bite my bottom lips.

"Y….yes, I love you. Look, I tried hard to forget you but it seems so impossible to wash you away from my heart and mind. I still love you, Romano." I said and my face is blushing now, I am sure of that. I tried to look at his face but I was scared of what might be his reaction.

"Doesn't that mean, you are going to forgive me?" He asked and I looked at him. His eyes seemed sparkling in my eyes and the way he looked at me, filled with so much desire.

He is really acting way different now, he wasn't like before. His eyes were filled with so much love and compassion. I am willing to give him another chance because I think he deserves it. I could feel his sincerity in his words, knowing the kind of person he was, if he is not sure about this, he will never waste his time just to tease me. Also, my heart tells me that he is sincere about the words he let out earlier. I nodded my head responding to his question and I am sure I will never regret giving him another chance.
