Chapter 30


Jasmine


It has been five months since I left Romano's house. I was now working in a coffee shop to support my daily living. My friends kept visiting me here as well and they offered me a higher job as the manager from one of their companies but I declined the offer. I wanted my life to be simple because if I ever accept their offer, I am certain that Romano and I would be seeing each other again.

"Why don't you accept our offer, Jasmine? It will be a great help for you." Khloe said and I shook my head disagreeing with her. Khloe was the only one that always came to visit me at the coffee shop. Nina and Ciara were busy in their companies.

"You know the reason why I can't accept the offer, I wanted to avoid Romano for now." I said and she heaved a sigh before responding.

"How is your twin sister? Did she call you?" She asked and I shook my head.

My sister and I never communicated after what happened five months ago. I am certain that she is still with Romano, maybe they are married by now.

"No, she never calls me or my family. They were not even concerned about me." I replied.

"What about your husband? Did you hear from him?" She asked and I just sighed. Romano never called me since the past five months I left his house and Kenneth didn't know my whereabouts because I told my friends not to tell anyone about it.

"No, he didn't. Romano doesn't care about me because he didn't have any feelings for me." I said and she just stared at me with her worried expression.

"I hope we can settle the two of you. It saddens us that the two of you had to go separate ways." She said and I faked a smile to show her that I am alright.

"No, it is okay, Khloe. It is better that I left his house because if I had stayed there, I am just going to hurt myself even more." I said and she nodded in understanding.

"Do you still love him?" She asked.

"Yes of course. My love for him will never die. Despite what he did to me, I still love him." I replied and Khloe just smiled.

"That is good to hear but anyways, I needed to go now. I still have many things to do and next time, we will visit you together, okay?" She said and I nodded my head, responding to her.

It saddens me to know that I won't be seeing her any time soon but I should understand the situation. The three of them were busy managing their business while I am busy here working at the coffee shop. As soon as she left, I went back to do my duties. Entertaining the customers and especially, serving their favorite coffee shake. I am enjoying my work and with all these, I was able to forget about Romano, the man who shattered my heart into pieces.

"Jasmine, please be prepared, we have a VIP customer coming. He just called me now." My manager said and my heart jumped in nervousness.

"What is his name, manager?" I asked and my manager grinned at me and that made my heart pound.

"It is a secret,you will get to know him when he arrives. Just know he is a man, so be ready." She said and I just nodded my head responding to her. I was confused about the VIP customer who was about to arrive in the coffee shop and I was nervous and excited at the same time to learn who he was.

"Yes, ma." I replied and went back to continue what I was doing.

"Oh wait, Jasmine. I would like to tell you that you will be the one to entertain him." She said and my heart jumped out of nervousness hearing that from her.

"But…why me,Ma?" I asked.

"No but, Jasmine. It is your duty and I will give you a tip for that." She said and I just nodded my head in response to her.

I continued what I was doing and the thought of the VIP customer still popped into my head. I was curious as to who it might be. In just a few minutes, I heard screams outside the coffee shop and my heart skipped because of that.

"Jasmine, come over and welcome the VIP customer, and ask him what he wants." My manager said and I nodded my head countless times before going out. I made sure that I looked presentable before heading out to meet the VIP customer.

I was still far from him but I already recognized the man that my manager referred as the VIP customer. I stopped from walking as I could feel the quickened beats of my heart inside my chest seeing his face once again. It is Romano and he is staring in my direction. I froze in my way as I couldn't believe him here. Five months have passed and I am seeing his face again. Seeing him made me realize that I still love him despite all the horrible things he did to me, my feelings for him never change. Although I wanted to avoid him, I have no other choice at the moment. My manager considered him as a VIP customer after all, he was still the ruler of his Pack, the Alpha of the werewolves.

"H…hi, sir. What are your orders, please?" I asked and my voice stuttered in nervousness.

"Jasmine?" He called and my heart skipped.

"If you want to ask me what I want, it is you. You are what I need." He said and I just stared at him.

"You can't purchase me sir. So tell me what coffee you would like to ask? We have…" I couldn't finish my sentence when he stood up from his seat and held my hand.

"I am sorry." He said and I turned my attention away from him as I am trying to stop the tears from streaming down. This is not the time for me to cry, he shouldn't see me crying again just because of him.

I promise myself that I will never cry again just because of him but I was wrong. The tears that I kept for five months streamed down my face again and it surprised me when he wiped the tears off my face. I looked at him with my confused look.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, trying to stop myself from sniffing.

"Please, Jasmine. Slap me to my face. I deserve your slap for being a dumbass. I am deeply sorry for what I did to you." He said and my mouth was wide open. I can't believe to hear these words from him, the man I considered to be a demon for hurting me. Look at him now, he looked way different compared to the last five months and his eyes seemed pleading towards me. Am I mistaken? The demon Alpha came here only to just apologize to me? What should I do now?

The customer's eyes were towards us now but I am not paying attention to them because I am focusing on Romano. He is standing in front of me and his ocean blue eyes were begging me to accept him again. This is shocking and I can't even digest the words I heard from his mouth. Am I not daydreaming? Is he really here?

"Jasmine, can you still forgive me?" He asked and that brought me back to my senses and also realized that I wasn't daydreaming at all. The scenes that were in front of one were actually real and not hallucinations. I clenched my fist hearing that from him.

"Why are you asking for forgiveness? You did nothing wrong, Romano. Maybe I am just desperate or I was just hoping that you have the same feeling as mine. You don't need to ask for forgiveness because we were not in a relationship." I said and he looked at me with his sadden expression.

"I still made a mistake, Jasmine. I knew that you had feelings for me but I didn't pay attention to it and just kept hurting you." He said and I bit my lower lips to stop myself from sobbing.

"What happened to you? Why are you here and why are you saying these words to me now?" I asked and he held my hand.

"Because I love you, Jasmine. Please come back to my life." He said and it caused my jaw to clench. I pulled out my hand from him and glared daggers at him.

"No! Don't ever mention to me that you love me, Romano. You can't fool me anymore because I am done with you. I am done with your demon personality and you can't fool Jasmine Philip any longer. So don't tell me that you have feelings for me now because I am certain that it is just a lie. Do you get it?" I asked with my furious tone and he was about to hold my hand when I moved away from him. I don't care if people at the coffee shop are going to gossip about me disrespecting and being rude to their Alpha.
