Chapter 58
Chapter 58
Jasmine
"Don't mind those idiots." Romano said and I smiled.
"You are so mean towards them." I responded and he looked at me with his furrowed brows.
"No, they are fine. I am always like that so they knew me." He replied and I got his point. Although he was mean to them, he cares about them too. He always treats them as his friends, and I noticed that from him.
We finished our lunch and left the dinner table. Romano and I changed our outfit and he was holding me as we walked out of the mansion. The event from the last time popped up in my head and I was still thinking about that psychopath killer, Anna. I kept convincing myself that she is not familiar to me but part of me tells me that I knew her. Goodness, what is wrong with me? Why does it feel like something is missing from me? I couldn't tell what it is but I feel like something is missing in my life. Romano held my hand and it brought me back from my deep thoughts. He looked at me with his worried face and I took a deep breath.
"You are thinking again, Jasmine." He said to me.
"It is nothing, Romano. Don't worry." I replied and he gave me a peck on the lips. He didn't say another word, instead he held my hand until we reached the grocery store. He helped me step out of the car and we went inside the mall, together with his friends. My attention was focused on the things I needed to buy and his friends were also choosing their food stuff as well.
"Choose whatever you want, Jasmine." Romano said and I nodded responding to him.
My eyes caught someone in the midst of picking the food stuff and I left what I was doing and followed them. It was my parents and they were shopping in the mall as well. I wanted to talk to them because it has been a long time since we last talked. I don't know if my relationship with them is good or not and it is confusing me. They didn't care about me, they asked for money from Romano in exchange for me without thinking about how I would feel.
"Father, Mother." I called and it made them stop as they turned around and faced me. Their cold stares shattered my heart. The way they look at me, it seems like I am not their daughter.
"What are you doing here, Jasmine?" My father asked.
"Don't you guys miss me?" I asked them but they laughed instead and made me clench my fist.
"Why would we miss you? Are you mocking us?" My mother said and tears streamed down my face. I can't believe what I was hearing from them. They are my parents but they are really hurting me. Well, I haven't forgotten that money is more important to them than their daughter's happiness. They are not concerned about what I am going through because of their actions.
"I don't understand the two of you. Something happened between me and my twin sister but you people never cared about us. What is wrong, father? What did we do to deserve this treatment for the two of you?" I asked them and they glared daggers at me.
"Shut up, Jasmine. Everyone is watching us." My father said as he grabbed my hand and it made me grimace.
"I just want to know the truth, please answer me." I said as I tried my best not to sniff.
"You are being a crying baby again, Jasmine." My mother said and her words saddens my heart.
"I am crying because the two of you made me feel like you don't care about me or even my twin sister. For goodness sake, we are your children!" I couldn't stop myself from raising my voice because of the pain.
My parents never cared about us and most know the way they abandoned us. They are not there when we need them even during our graduation when we are still in school, they didn't attend. My father was about to slap me when someone held his hand. Romano protected me from my parents.
"Dare to slap my wife and you will regret it." He warned my father and it made them astounded.
"Apologies, Alpha Romano but Jasmine was disrespecting us." My mother said and I bowed my head, wiping the tears off my face.
"Disrespecting the two of you? As far as I know,my wife is a kind-hearted woman." Romano said and I smiled. He is defending me from my parents.
"We love our daughter, Romano but Jasmine just misinterpreted us. Our way of showing them how much we love them is different from what other parents do." My father replied and I raised my head to glance at him.
"You people loved us? Where are you guys when we need our parents on our most special day? Where were the two of you during our birthday days? What about when we needed your comfort during our different times?" I asked them but they kept silent. Romano wrapped his hand around my waist, trying to comfort me.
"That is enough, Jasmine." Romano said but I didn't listen to him. I am really mad at my parents for the way they treated me and my twin sister.
"You are getting on my nerves, Jasmine. We are still your parents and you are disrespecting us." My father said and he is now furious. He was about to grab my hand when Romano blocked him with his body. I cried behind Romano's back because of the pain I felt from them.
Tears kept streaming down my face and it seemed hard to stop. My heart is broken, my family abandoned me and they don't care about me. What did I do to deserve this kind of parents? As far as I could remember, my twin sister and I followed all their rules when we were still growing up.
"Don't dare hurt my wife. It seems like the two of you don't know me." Romano said and from his expression, he is mad now. He was blocking but I could see the reaction on my parent's faces.
"We were just disciplining her, Alpha Romano." My father said and Romano held his hand and pinned him to the wall.
"You have no right to discipline my wife. Have you forgotten our deal? I have paid the two of you and that means you have no right to even touch her." Romano replied and I moved closer to him. Even though I am mad at my parents, I still love them and I won't want anything bad to happen to them.
"Please, stop this, Romano." I said as I hugged him from behind and it made him release my father. He turned back and faced me.
"You must be lucky that my wife still respects the two of you, if not you would have met your end now." He said as he grabbed my hand and walked away from them. I turned back and my parents were still staring at us with their furious reaction. I heaved a sigh and then turned to Romano.
"I am sorry." I said and it made him stop and faced me. He stared at me deeply in the eyes as his two hands were placed on my shoulder.
"Why are you apologizing? Your parents should be the one apologizing for what they did to you, Jasmine. I am mad at them because of their actions." He said and I just sighed.
"I am not even expecting to see them here. It has been a long time since I last saw them." I said and he held my hand and kissed the back of my hand.
"Don't mind them because even if they are not here, I won't leave you alone, Jasmine. I will always be there by your side." He said and I smiled. At least I have Romano by my side and he won't abandon me, regardless of what happened. I was about to speak when someone came to interrupt us. My blood boils seeing it was a woman again.
"Hi, Romano. Can we talk for a moment?" She asked and was about to grab my husband's hand when I slapped her hand away.
"Don't touch my husband." I said in my furious tone and she raised her eyebrows.
"I have something to tell him. It is urgent, so please back off." She said as she didn't even care if I was with him. My blood boiled again and I pulled her hand as I stared at her with my fierce eyes.
"Whatever you want to say, you can say it to me and I promise you to pass the information to him." I said and she looked at me with her blazing eyes. Romano was just silent and his face was covered with smirking as he was just watching. He won't interrupt not until this woman is about to hurt me.
