Chapter 108

Gunner and Slasher are having the same thought of agreeing into everything that Mr. Hiro was telling them and that is to have a DNA test because even they had to have a peace of mind. Slasher on the other hand have this feeling that indeed he was their biological father and if it is then he is happy to have him as their father and not that father figure who had given his mother nothing but heartache. But as he witnessed the way his mother tells her stories about this man she had this sparkle in her eyes that he didn't see whenever their father was around because all he sees was tears in her eyes.



It was already five in the morning when Slasher and Gunner didn't feel sleeping so they just sit there and watch what was at the outside but Hiro had told them to be careful because Vega had keen eyes. Hiro had let them all by themselves while he had taken a rest for a bit and also Samuel. Even the two couldn't believe what just had happened to the military and the rescuers down there and only the President had survived and thanks to Mr. Hiro he had able to survive.



Slasher yawned as he stretched his arms above his head. 'So what do you think?" he asked making Gunner to look at him and raising his left eyebrow.



'Think what?" he asked back which cause Slasher to sigh and groaned.



'Think of him of course," he said pointing his lips towards Hiro whose back was facing them.



Gunner shrugs his shoulders and sighs but he had to admit he had a feeling that he couldn't even describe too. 'I don't know but my instinct is telling me to go on with that thing . . . just to have a peace of mind," he said as he took a deep breath and smiled.



Slasher returned back the gesture and stands from his seat to go to take a cup of black coffee for the both of them. While Gunner was there sitting and couldn't believe what he had gone through right now because it was just last couple of days he was struggling of thinking where they would go. How could they be able to survive and what would he do to Slasher to bring him back to normal? But at the first place he was all alone and do not know what to do and considering that he was afraid to be alone he had learned how to survive by himself. And now seeing himself surrounded with them especially his brother and the person whom they believe is their true father was and he had to admit it was the most unexpected situation that he had encountered and who would have thought of such a thing of meeting your true father in such a cruel time and place?

Gunner couldn't help but to smile as to think he had gone through those difficult time and now even if he was still in that kind of situation a ray of hope was still shining through him even in darkest times.



What they have to do for their first move is to get into the floating office and in order for them to get there is the way up and from the help of the tunnels. And he was sure that Hiro had an idea on how to get there easier while he will be the guide on how to let out some of the captive down there and he would suggest to take the captives in the last line by four so now one would notice that someone is missing and maybe they would do it by two or three's because that is the safe number that he knows for them not be able to get caught.

And from down there where Slasher and Samuel will get the captives out maybe he would suggest the invisible blanket for them to hide themselves because they will never know if someone was lurking around. So maybe he had to suggest it to Hiro when the first thing that he will wake up.



And he would maybe suggest to take those captives to the secret passage way out since he had already found it and all he had to do is to point it to Slasher and of course to make him aware what will they do in case of anything emergency would happen. And knowing that Vega is maybe quite busy of what he had been doing right now they shouldn't be relieved because of it instead they should have their guards upgraded. With now that there are four of them Gunner was somehow relived because he had someone to rely on and it is not only him that is planning because now they are team. And what makes it ironic is that they are also companied with a President of the United States.



Slasher handed him the smoking hot black coffee and Gunner gladly take it and he pulled the stool for him to sit again and sigh. He had lost count of how many sighs he had given out including him. As they took a sip they didn't quietly notice that Hiro was already woke up and was already at the sink getting a cup for a coffee.



'Hey," he called them with a hoarse voice and gestured them to have a drink and they answered him with a lift of cup of coffee saying that they already have one and he nodded and decided to join them.



Slasher and Gunner admit that it is kind of awkward to face him considering that they are talking about him being their true biological father. But what could they do it is their fault to confront him that early and they have to face it besides it is not only them who is feeling that way and they also bet that even Hiro is also feeling the same way and he just delivers it in his own way.

Hiro walk into their direction and pulled a chair for him to sit and look through the window and unlike yesterday the ground was still smoking but right now the ground was totally cleaned pup like there was nothing happened. He had also notice that the mirror itself is still there.

'What kind of image," he uttered as he took a sip of his coffee and laid his back to the chair and took a deep breath. He doesn't know what to say because they had stopped talking to each other when he had already waked up.

He was being careful not to catch their attention but who was he kidding because those kids have those quick reflexes and he was somehow proud of them because they were like born with such skills and considering that they are super smart. He couldn't help but to praise himself because they all have inherited it because of him and it is okay if he will be called thick face but those is what he feels right then. If the DNA is positive for an outcome then he would be the very lucky man that would be living in this earth and there will be a true meaning of his life. And thinking that they are the child of the woman whom he had Loved the most is the most precious thing that he would ever have in his world. He had never dated anyone since they have split up and he promised to himself that he will search for her but he failed when he had learned that he was already getting married to Dr. Brace.



'Yes, you really don't know what is running through his lunatic mind," he said which makes the two nodded their heads.



Hiro placed his cup to the saucer and asked, 'So, have you guys got any plans right now?"



Gunner also placed his cup to the table and nodded, 'Yes, we are the one who will be assigned to the floating office right?" he asked and Hiro nodded. 'So as far as I could see I don't know which way we are going so maybe you will be the one who will lead the way right?" he added while scratching the back of his head.



'Yes, leave that to me," he responded.



Gunner nodded and continued, 'And then about Slasher and Samuel waiting down there to get the captives out maybe we should somehow use your invisible blanket for them to hide and no one would ever see them because we don't know what is down there since we are too are pre-occupied of our task and we couldn't guard them somehow," he said which makes Hiro nodded his head while his hand was below in his chin understanding the risk between Slasher and Samuel being down there.

'Okay, I see you have calculated it all now," Hiro responded while smiling.



'And Slasher," he called as he turned to face him which is when he had seen Samuel that is already standing next behind him and Samuel just nodded his head gesturing him to just continue what he is about to say. 'Slasher and Mr. President, down there when you have already got the captives just in the left corner of the wall you will an edge that you will have to push it and it will open and don't worry because it won't cost any noise so maybe I would suggest fist that the two of you have to search for it first so in order for you to have a quick actions when you already have get them out of their globes. So in the end it is easier for us to get them out of here and maybe some of them will be able to get their consciousness back," he added.

'I have another spare of the invisible sheet for those captives to be just hidden at the same time," he said which makes Gunner nodded his head because his entire preparedness is running according to his plan.

'You have really sketch the plan out of it," Samuel said as he praised him which Gunner smiled as a response.

'Yes, for our own safety too and since we couldn't check out on you and it is too risky if we do signals," he said and all of them agreed.









UNITED STATES WHITE HOUSE

It was sunny day and it was already two in the afternoon and even though the day is clear and the feeling of ease lingers in the air it doesn't mean that they are out of danger. It was because all of the citizens in the United States are evacuated in their houses. Including the families of the people inside who were still working and waiting for the signal of the President which until they haven't get any signs of him or even the other crew.

The Vice President is getting even more worried because of how many until now they haven't have heard of anything about them. And she doesn't know what to do even though her secretary is already telling her to make a move because her husband is also with the President.

And maybe today is the day that she will take an action to follow the President and checked up on them. She will be company by five choppers with twenty people and three of those were the three generals of the United Sates and soldiers with them.



'Madam Vice President what time are we going to get off?" the Lieutenant asked and the Vice President looked at him and swallowed her own lumped because she had this sudden feeling of something is really going on out there and they have welcomed by a great danger.

And considering she has a family waiting for her out there.

'We will be leaving at fifteen forty-five," she answered and the Lieutenant nodded his head.

Fifteen forty-five is three forty-five in the afternoon.

'I will get them ready by now," he said and took his leave.



She looked at the time and it says that it was already two thirty in the afternoon and she doesn't have much time if she had to get to her family and just bid her good bye and just to see them again because it might be her last. She doesn't want to think of that way but she couldn't help it because she really had this strong feeling that there is danger coming their way but she is the Vice President of the United States and the President had already get into his actions and now it is time for her to do her obligations too.



A tear escape from her eyes which she had it immediately wipe it out using the back of her hand and thankfully it was just her who is left inside of the room. She dialed a number through her phone and waited for it to ring and it didn't even last for three rings when someone had already answered it and it was her husband. She had to hold to her tears away because if she will burst out then she won't be able to get hold of herself.

'Sweetheart," answered through the second line and she couldn't help but to close her eyes as those words seeps through her mind and through her heart because it may be the last time that she will hear those words coming out from the mouth of his husband, her loving husband.

She tries to smile and it failed and just answered him for a couple of seconds passed. 'Sweetheart, how are you?" she asked and her husband notice from the tone of her voice that there is something wrong going on.



'Tell me what is wrong, sweetheart, please don't make me guess what is wrong because it makes me sick and you know what since the day that we have evacuated I have been so worried about you," he said causing her hands to form into a fist because her tears were really wanted to fall and she just let it go because it is no use to if she will hold it back but she have to be strong.



'I am going to see if the President is okay all the way to Japan but I promise that I will make It back," she said and she heard a long sigh in the second line and she knows that he is now massaging him temples because he knows very well that it was her job.



'The why do you sound like you are already saying your goodbye?" he said and she heard him groaned.



'No, I am not because I just to hear your voice and our son is he there?" she asked and he nodded his head even though she won't even see it.



'Nathan, its Mom! Come here quick!" She heard from the second line as he called their son and she heard a thumping noise which says that he came from the upstairs.



'Mom! Mom how come you just called I miss you a lot when are you going home? Are you going home now is that why you called?" he asked and how she missed that voice of his that she wanted to run into him and just embraces him together with her husband.

A tear escape again from her eyes and she just let it that way but she had to have a normal voice as she speaks through the phone she doesn't want them to get worried about her.

'I will be home kiddo as soon as possible okay? Mom, will be a temporary wonder woman to save the President out there," she said trying to cheer her son.



'Please be careful mom, and please be home soon," he said in the second line and sadness was evident in his voice causing her heart to squirm in pain.



'Yes, baby I will be back home soon and I promise to you that. I love you and see you soon," she said and somehow she was proud of herself not to get her voice crack and not to break down but she was still in tears which she could manage.



'Get back home as soon as you can, sweetheart, I love you," he said in the other line and she couldn't help but to smile because she could already picture out this reaction right now because she knows what he is thinking and even her to wanted to be in his arms.



'Yes, sweetheart, and I love you most," she replied with a smile in her lips.



'Don't hang up," he added which she didn't and waited for him to say anything. 'Japan is the most dangerous country that you will ever get into. And from what I have researched Dr. Vega is a scientist and from what I have read from an article there is this city that he had lived in and he used those people living in there be his samples of his experiment and all of those case were closed because there is no evidence that he was the one who had done it and speaking that he was the only one who had survived he really was the one who is the culprit. And from the news that was spreading in the whole wide world Japan's young men or even adults have gone missing because of the WIC company and there are no bodies that have been found and now thinking that the President didn't give you all any signs meaning they were already sent to catastrophe, sweetheart so please . . . please I know this is your obligation as you are the Vice President of this state but please don't risk your life because you still have us," he said and she could sense the hurt between his voice and she wanted to embrace him and tell him that everything is going to be alright and she will be back home as soon as possible.

If she only knew that this day would she haven't have just run into election and maybe right now she is with her family.

'Yes, I will take that as a note to my mind and just like as I promise I wil get back soon I love you, both of you."

As soon as the call ended her husband always tells her for how many times of how she would be very careful out there and she would make it sure that she would come back and get home as soon as she gets back.



She immediately wipes her tears away when she heard someone knocks through the door.



'Come in," she said and the door slowly opens and her secretary came in.



'Madam Vice President, they are already waiting for you," she said an she nodded her head telling her that she will be out in a minute and then she closes the door leaving her on her own again.



She dusts out her pants that she is now currently wearing and the jacket that the Lieutenant had lent her with. She calm and compose herself before getting out of the room.



'It's time."







FOUR IN THE AFTERNOON

'The estimated time for us to be in there will be twelve in the midnight but it is not safe for us to just land in there in that kind of time so some of our crew are already waiting for us there to take a land and will be continuing our fly at exactly five in the morning Madam Vice President," the Lieutenant said to her as they are now getting into the helicopter.

What they are riding into is their best helicopter that is left for them in case in emergency and that kind of emergency is today. They are riding a Pave Hawk chopper a highly modified version of the other army helicopters which features an upgraded communications and navigation and from that when they are in the Japan area they could easily locate the other choppers and they hope that their transmitters are open. Communications and navigation suite that includes integrated inertial navigation or global positioning, satellite communications, secure voice and in short it had everything that a military needs. And because they are in a deep hurry so maybe they would fly in their full high speed of at least two hundred minute per hour or three hundred sixty kilometer per hour.

She took her seat and just watches how they are slowly going up and she had to be brave because all of those people down there are somehow relying to him because all of those soldiers that were sent by had also their own families and they are also hoping for her to get them back. She knew it was big to shoulder on but what could she do she was the Vice President of the United States and it is not right if she is just there sitting and waiting for them to come back when in reality is that they are no signal from them of coming back.

'Midnight," she uttered under her breath as she looked through the window.

They are following the helicopters of the other three generals in each chopper and somehow she feels the vibes of being like in the war.



'Yes, Ma'am and rest assured that we will be getting in touch with them as soon as possible," he said which she immediately looks at him because she reminds a thing that he had also a brother that was sent together with the President and he was the company of the President himself.



'You have a brother sent to it am I right?" she asked and he nodded his head.



'Yes, and I hope they are okay because I have given him a transmitter device in order for him to signal me that they are okay but the last thing that he have given me a signal is when they have landed yet he said that they are quite somehow encountering a thunderstorm but as I see in the forecast there is no storm that is currently happening in that time in Japan. Which makes me worried because that was unusual and after that I haven't received anything from him," he said and there was hurt in his eyes but it instantly vanishes away in just a flip of time.



She didn't respond but she just tap his shoulder gesturing him that everything will be alright but she shouldn't be kidding herself because even she was getting even more worried about it.
