Chapter 52

A of thunder roared in the street as Dr. Vega and Dr. Brace made their way to the WIC. It was a thunderous rainy night which made Dr. Vega smiled as he scratched his palm due to wanting to for something that he couldn't explain. He couldn't wait to get home to his building. And from what he have seen upon checking on his phone that he had wired all of the cameras into it, was Ibiza catching on Gunner. He couldn't help but to smile as he saw the video.



He didn't make the wrong decision about giving Ibiza that serum and now he is slowly becoming an animal that he had imagined to make and now it is perfect as to what he could see. Some of that serum will soon be injected into one of the subjects out there, but that experiment has become a handy, for him to make sure that the subjects will still obey him in that kind of form means their behavior will also change.



However, he is in an ecstasy of happiness learning that his experiments have come to bear perfect fruit. They are almost at the building about a kilometer from now and Dr. Vega looked at the dark sky which was pouring abundant rain and unending lightning. He somehow wished that his father was proud of how far he had come. Even though he is dead, the words of his father's still linger in his mind. It was like a memo that he couldn't take out of his mind. It was like it was the thing that was controlling him.



At first, of course, he didn't know those twins were because he didn't care, but what Samson had told him made a lot of sense which came into an interesting one. Especially when it has a connection with Dr. Brace that in fact they are his father. He didn't want to get into the line and hold the twins as his captives, but from what he had checked into his background before accepting him as his apprentice, he had two sons and a wife. He had twins and their names are Slasher and Gunner. Dr. Vega had also questioned him about his sons but what he answered to him made him somehow surprised because those children were not his and from that he didn't ask more.



After Slasher being a captive he assigned Samson to take care of him but he think he had a mistake of assigning Samson in there because after all he is thirsty of having someone to kill. He looked at Dr. Brace who is also looking at the window and in deep thought.



'We are almost there and you could already see them in no time now so quit thinking whatever you are thinking now," he said which makes Dr. Brace looked at him startled. 'I just called you because you are in deep thought," he added and averted his eyes back to the road. He could almost see the building.



'I couldn't help but to think of them and what have they become now that they are adult. But still my perception didn't change of who I am now," he replied and Dr. Vega didn't say a word instead he give him a nod and the rest of the way was all silence.

The car stopped as soon as they are at back of the building. Dr. Vega needed to go first where the subjects are and go checked them and so as Dr. Brace wanted to go check Slasher.



Cold air welcomed them as soon as they entered the room and as for that time he couldn't check one by one the subjects are and just have it take a look for a minute or so. He was tired and he needed to rest from his long day of travel. But those days were all worth it thinking that he had closed a great deal with Mr. Hiro and will soon be using it for his machines and for his power. Money and power are everything for him.



He looked around and sees that everything is fine except for one thing. It seems like the atmosphere every time he took a step he smelled like there was something different but he doesn't want to think about it that night. All he wanted was to take a rest. And before he knows it Dr. Brace was no longer following him. He was all alone and he knows where he is up to.



This was the first time that he had a chilly feeling; Dr. Brace couldn't handle what he is feeling tonight. He was already feeling it since they are on their way home. He also wanted to see the twins that are all he cares from that time but what is more bothering him is from what he and Mr. Hiro had talked about. He doesn't want to believe him but he is giving him the instincts that he should.



'So you are the apprentice of Dr. Vega, I am impressed that you have come this far for him. You have stand of what he is doing. You are also a little devil obeying him," Mr. Hiro said as he looked at him sternly.



From the day that they have meet together with Dr. Vega he didn't know that he had also an interest to talk to him. After Dr. Vega and Mr. Hiro talked, he secretly gives him a piece of paper with a message to Dr. Brace. He reads the message after they had left and learned that he wanted to talk to him privately and should not let Dr. Vega know it. So that night after checking that Dr. Vega was asleep he sneaks out and meets him.



'Why do you want to talk to me and what is it? I respect you and your time but I need to hurry before Dr. Vega notices that I am no longer there," he almost stuttered in saying those words nevertheless he was proud of himself for being brave of pin pointing it out already.



A smile formed into his thin lips and arched is eyebrow at him. 'You scared? Brace Daemon?" he said which makes Dr. Brace looks at him questioningly. He was aware that he knows his name already but from the tone of his voice it was like he had something to tell to him.



There was a secret way to his eyes as he looks at him.





'I am not scared if that is what you think. I just want to hear what are you going to tell me direct to the point because I know how Dr. Vega shows when he is mad and I don't to cause any trouble with that," he commented which makes Mr. Hiro snorted.

'Then lie to him. Simple," he replied and crossed his arms to his chest and lay down his back to his swivel chair.

Dr. Brace couldn't move even a little from his position it was like he was hypnotize by the eyes of Mr. Hiro as he stares at him. A small smile carved in his lips like he can read his mind.



'Relax, be quiet and listen to me," he said as he stares sternly at Dr. Brace.



Sweat of beads was starting to form in this forehead and he can feel dryness in his throat that he was like dehydrated but he wasn't.



'Your name is Brace Daemon and you have children, twins in fact. And you believe that you were betrayed by your wife but tragic to know and tell you that she isn't. How did I know? Simple, because I can. If I find someone interesting to me all I have to do is to know that person especially if that person is connected to him," he said and somehow Dr. Brace knows who is he referring to and that is Dr. Vega.



He thought they are good friends but why does it seem that they aren't. From the moment that their eyes contacted Dr. Brace could already see who he is and that is why he keeps his space from the stares of Mr. Hiro but he didn't even given luck from the eyes of the predator and he was the prey. And now he is sitting in front of the wicked man than he could ever know.



'You and the twins are positive in the DNA test and you are their biological parents. The father who abandons his own family just for nothing. A dumb person who lft his own family without a proof. Why? Because of your disease? Why because you think that it was the fate that brought you to Vega? Well, you are mistaken Dr. Brace. I thought you are his apprentice? You are tho but why didn't even you think about this phrase? Everything is possible for him, nothing is impossible to him Dr. Brace and if that means faking your result in your check up and giving that doctor a large sum of money he will do it. He had faked the result paper to make you think that you can't produce enough sperm to get her pregnant. And then one day your wife got pregnant that every day you neglected the most. Telling her nasty things that she doesn't deserve. Looking at your sons like a trash even though your neighbors and even your colleagues tell you that you look alike with your sons. But what did you do? You left them. You left them with nothing," he said but he was smiling all through the time.



'But I admire your wife huh because she was strong enough to make a living for your sons. And for Vega you trust him so much with your life that you are already lined up to be one of his subjects Dr. Brace and you just didn't know. Every person that goes through that door will not escape and if you won't believe me I don't care because it's not my business anymore. Why am I telling you this? It's because I want to see your life goes miserable and make you think twice upon seeing Dr. Vega as your so called model. So that's it have a nice night Dr. Brace," he said and he snapped his fingers which like a clock that echoes in his ears and the last thing that he knows he was already outside of the building.



Cold breeze swept through him that sinks through his skin even though he is wearing his black thick leathered coat that ends to his knees and boots that would somehow give him enough warm and also his gloves but he is still chilly and cold that anytime soon he will catch cold and sneeze his nose out.



He walked to the street feeling like his mind is in loss of thoughts and he didn't know what to do he just walks until he gets to the hotel where they rented a room. And then in just a minute of walking he was surprised that he was already at the front of the hotel. He looks from his left and right but there were no people walking he was all alone walking in the night.



As soon as he closes the door of his room he was look like he was snapped out of his head and remembered what everything that Mr. Hiro had told him earlier. Dr. Brace groaned in annoyance and immediately get into the bathroom to wash his face if he was just hallucinating things. He couldn't help but to curse and curse under his breath.



'How dare him!" he shouted as he slammed his fist through the sink and blood starting to get out of his skin. He was petrified and in pain at the same time.



'What if he is telling the truth?" he asked himself as he look himself through the mirror and a tears escape from his eyes.



'Vega."
