Chapter 84

Ross was coughing with blood yet instead of blaming himself for letting his guard down and discouraged of what troubled that he had caused he smiled and looked at the sky. Even if the sky is fabricated or not he prayed with all of his heart that if he will die today at least Gunner and Slasher will made it out.

He finally accepted his fate that his destiny was written in this but at least he died in his normal state and somehow he had done well even it was just a small thing. Blood was dripping out from his head and he somewhat feeling dizzy and he couldn't feel his heart beat anymore. He slowly turn his gaze to Dr. Vega who is also looking at him.

'I thought I have made a perfect pet but I was wrong," he said with a stern voice and narrow eyes.

That was the face and reaction coming from Dr. Vega that Ross was afraid of before but now it changes into something that he didn't quite expect in the future. What he is feeling right now was hatred and anger but he will not die having those traits in his heart. He will die in peace with a prayer that the two will made it out in the end. Even though there were so many what if's in his mind about him coming in the side of Dr. Vega but one thing that is still keeping his min din positive way and that is miracles do happen even in crisis time.

He smiled and replied, 'I think the perfect pet you are talking about is yourself," he uttered and Dr. Vega's reaction faded and look at him sternly and his hands formed into a fist causing his knuckles turns to white yet he was just stopping himself for hitting him again because anytime soon his breathing will stop and will soon die.

'Say all what you wanted in your last breath," he mocked and watched him cough blood again. He was bathing himself in the pool of his blood now he had lost so much blood and it was because of the pill he had given him. It was just a small pill but it would take someone's life put into death.

It was still I process but upon seeing Ross in that kind of situation he then before take it as now perfect pill. And even though he was busy meeting every person whom he had an activity with he never stops in experimenting and he never ever let his guard down but even though he will let it down no one could ever let him down especially a commoner like them.

He wasn't surprised that he couldn't longer see Dr. Brace in the building and upon seeing the video which caught in the CCTV's that explained everything for him. He already knows from the first place that Ross was getting into different shape and he was not fool for not seeing it. He just didn't care because anytime he could take his life in his own way yet he just let him do as he wanted because that would be his last wishes before he rest in pieces.

'Had it never cross in your mind that I know what all of you are doing?" he said and Ross was just looking at him. 'I'll take that as a yes," he said as he smiled.

Dr. Vega still couldn't believe that Dr. Brace was dead and even though he was a traitor he still needed his help as his apprentice. What he didn't expect was that witnessing Ross fighting like that and he never teaches him those tactics in fighting.

It was perfect material but he knows that time was Ross was slowly getting into his normal state but he still could fight in that way. He was the perfect weapon after all but it was sad to say that he is going to be dead.

Also he had done what is to be done to that priest. He was the one who told Ross about the secret passage way to the outside world but he had manage it with himself and putting fabricated image like a mirror of at least fifty meters away that if ever they will run away they will be just lost and will never be able to go outside of the wall that he had built. It was just their eyes that is fooling them.

'There will be a day for you," Ross said in a weak voice and having a hard time catching his breath as he touches his head dripping with blood.

He carefully lay himself in the ground and as he slowly open his eyes he saw peace from the leaves of the oak tree where the wind is free to caress it with his blows and the sun was shining gracefully to the raindrops of each leaves. From a small moment of his time he think he had already saw the most beautiful moment of his time. It was the most amazing image in his life that his eyes landed to. He knows Dr. Vega was saying something he couldn't any longer understands because of his hearing. The only thing that he could hear from that time are chirping of the birds up there and the wind rustling in. It was not cold nor warm it was just perfect like heaven sees.

Even though he wasn't telling himself to close his eyes it was the nature whom telling him too. So as he closes his eyes his heart beat slowed down and his body went numb. He feels like he was floating in the air and his heart beat could be counted like a slow drum.

Memories flashed through him . . .

memories of his childhood together with his mother. They were so happy and he regretted himself for leaving her all alone and maybe if he didn't leave her then he would be the one giving her a glass of water and giving her a ride to the church and to her garden. But it was too late to regret all of those things because his life was almost in the finish line.

'Gunner . . . Slasher . . . get out," he whispered and within a second he lost his breath.

Dr. Vega laugh as he looked at Ross who is slowly eating by death. A smile was written to his thin chapped lips as he left his body eaten by the crows.

'Now who's next?" he uttered under his breath as he walk his way inside of the building.

GUNNER was sure that it was late in the evening already and still Ross haven't back for how many hours now and he is starting to get worried. He was worried sick and so is Slasher but Slasher is already having a doubt of what had happened to him. He trust Gunner to believe in Ross but what he doesn't believe is that he will be back. He had a strong feeling that Dr. Vega had caught him by the time that he had found the secret passage way.

He knows Dr. Vega even though he was inside of the globe. He was very intelligent man and no one would ever escape into his eyes not even his experiments. He doesn't want to think about it but he thinks Ross was already dead and as much as he wanted to tell it to his twin who is worried sick he doesn't want too. Because as far as he sees he thinks Gunner was already attached to Ross and have given him sympathy as their cousin.

Gunner is a soft hearted guy between the two of them and that was his weakness but he admired his twin because he was like just their mother.

'How come he still never come back here?" he said with worried tone in his voice and Slasher looks at him with sadness in his eyes that Gunner looks like he reads what was running through his mind.

Gunner slowly shakes his head telling him that he was wrong yet he just stared at him and that is when Gunner kneeled down on the floor and started crying. He knows they were having the same feeling but he just couldn't accept the fact that it would really happen.

'Gunner," he called and Gunner didn't move a bit to look at him and he was heartbroken seeing his twin looking like this. 'Gunner, if ever he won't come back then we should make our way out. If ever he was caught by him then we don't have any chance right now but to follow what he had told you. We are on our own now," he said and Gunner was silent calming himself from his cries.

'How could you say such a thing? He is not dead!" he exclaimed which makes Slasher taken aback from his actions yet he understands what he is going through right now.

Slasher just stares at him and Gunner looking regret of his actions and brush his hair and took a deep breath. 'I'm sorry," he muttered and Slasher just nodded his head and gesture him to come sit beside him and he slowly walked to his direction.

Slasher with a weak body tries to wipe his tears away using his thumb and smile at him. Gunner looks at him and embrace him and cried to his shoulders and Slasher knows that he was breaking down and doesn't know what to do. He knows his twin much and what he can do right now because of his situation is that he just have to comfort him and if his conclusions are right that Ross was already gone then he should not be a burden to him. If he couldn't take to stand by himself then he would be the brain on where they should go.

'It's alright and I understand your situation. But however if my conclusions are right then we don't have any choice left but to face the truth. Let us just rest for now and tomorrow early in the morning we will get out. Can you carry me in your back?" he stated and Gunner looked at him puzzled of what was going through his mind.

'I can," he answered to his question and look at him with determination in his eyes. Determination that stands for that he wanted to live and to fight even he get out in the building with half of his life.

It had been a long time that Slasher didn't see his twin and he must say that he was somewhat different. His aura was different or kind of change by something that he cannot describe by now but one thing is for sure that now they are together he could see what had got into him or what had change into him.

'I won't be a burden and I will guide you in here since I was once roamed around and have seen many hideouts that is hidden and I think those hideouts were made by the people who have got into here and I bet Dr. Vega still doesn't know it since he haven't repaired it. And while you are searching for the secret passage way out you could drop me into one of those hideouts and don't worry about me because I can handle myself," he said and Gunner could not believe what he was hearing from Slasher.

He sure have spends his time having a miserable way of surviving in here and Gunner thought that maybe his twin brother had gone so much rather than him staying in this building yet he still manage to hold on into his life. Gunner was ashamed as he thought about that and didn't even think about what his twin brother had gone into.

'You're not a burden to me, Slash, and the reason why I am here is because of you and that is to get you the hell out of you here even if it cost my life. You have dreams to fulfill and you have so much to do unlike me. You are better than me and that is the truth in here," he said not looking at him because his tears were already at the edge in his eyes and he blink it away he was a crybaby this time and he hated it.

Slasher hold Gunner's hand and gently squeezes it, 'Who says I am better than you? We are alike because we are twins remember? We are getting out of here. I am sorry if I ever get you involved in here. We will get through in here no one will die anymore. We will be back into our normal lives again and I promise you that. Hey, look into the bright side there is always a hope," he said and Gunner couldn't help it out anymore but to be in tears again which he immediately wipe it all away using the back of his hands.

'When there is a light there is always dark and when there is us then there were always be shadows. As much as I wanted to believe that even slightest chance I don't see but seeing you gives me hope now. I have manage to get you out of there and now I can manage us to get out of here," he said and Slasher nodded.

'The light can be in our overhead and there will be no shadows anymore. And when the God is in our overhead then there will be no dark we just got to have faith in him, Gunner."
