Chapter 54

When everything was now silent Gunner and Ross started to go down carefully not wanting to get caught. Especially Ross because if he does then it will be his end soon. Gunner looked at Ross back who is beginning not to look as slimy as it is. He could tell that the blue serum was strong to cure himself like that.

'Have you drink another bottle?" he asked referring to that serum and he just shakes his head.

'No, why?" he replied asking him and he just smiled because he still didn't notice the changes that is going on in his body.

'You are slowly changing, Ross and that is a good news," he commented and Ross stops from his tracks. Gunner was just following him because he still doesn't know where the way out is.

Ross smiled as Gunner was telling the truth. There was hope lit up into his eyes. He will be alive and will continue his life outside but in order for him to do that he must think quickly of how they will get out safely together with his twin. After seeing what was in there they couldn't see how and when they will understand all of those. Ross looked at gunner who is looking behind his back with such sadness in his life that he couldn't even get his twin brother out there now thinking that he had prepared himself for a week and this was the result. Ross felt his heart ached with those emotion in his eyes.

He wanted to blame himself because he couldn't even help his cousin. He didn't know how those people was conserve in that glass ball because Dr. Vega never lets him in whenever he had a new subject to have with. He was hands on into his subjects and maybe Dr. Vega still don't trust him regarding those things. But he promised to the root of hell that he would help Gunner and Slasher gets out of the building even if it takes his life. As much as he dreamed himself to go back to the normal of who he is if the fate says that he will be put to death in the end at least he had done something right in his life that he would never forget even in death. Ross looked at Gunner and smiled he pats his shoulder and gestured him to keep going because they might not know what time will Dr. Vega might come up soon.

Gunner soon realizes that there is a secret hole of which they are crawling right now. Ross told him that even Dr. Vega didn't know this because he had do it himself. They couldn't use the elevator even if they want too because he doesn't have the card into it because Dr. Vega is the only one who can come there and nothing more. And as they crawled Ross says something to him.

Don't worry about him I have found something there that would slow down the rate of negative statistics of the logo which will put him into and will at least recover for a small amount of time but it is better than nothing right? I have found it from the time you were busy with your phone," he said which makes Gunner startled he had forgotten to get his phone out of there.

'Shoot! I forgot my phone!" he said with a worried tone in his voice and he was about to return when Ross stops him.

'Some other time you might get in trouble going back," he said which would make sense to Gunner and nodded in agreement. He would obey him for now because if he want to keep things smoothly then he should be very careful after all Ross is the one who totally knows Dr. Vega.

As they crawled the way is never easy as the way he thought. Creating this secret tunnel will took moths for him as he look at it but he doesn't know why he had created this one.

'Maybe you are asking why I have created this," Ross commented as if reading his mind and he just nodded even though he didn't see him.

'I created this tunnel because of this blue serum because I thought this is where I could find them. I just wanted to get one I didn't know why because my mission is fix and that is to be his perfect weapon. But there is something inside of me that wanting to get that blue serum for no reason and then I just found myself digging and it took me how many months to dig and here it is we are freely using it without thinking of any danger because Dr. Vega wouldn't thought about this," he said as he catch his breath because the air was somehow getting rough and there isn't enough air for them to breath but it was bearable.

'You just didn't know that you also dreamed of being back to normal and just live your life to the fullest," Gunner said and Ross didn't replied from then on but he knew out of the corner he is slowly realizing it after all.

After couple of minutes crawling underneath they soon arrived to their destination.

'You go back to your room and hid there I'll just go there when it is time again for us to back," he said and he nodded his head.

They soon split up and Gunner didn't still let his guard down and he run quickly where his room is and hide thinking that Dr. Vega is there already then he should be very much careful then.

As soon as he closes the door to his room he was already catching for his breath and tried to cath his normal breathing before closing himself to his secret hideout.

When he was already in his secret hideout he secretly prayed that the US government had already opened his email and if they didn't then he is on his own now because as much as he wanted to send again an email that was much too impossible for him now knowing that his phone had drown in the water it will no longer be a use.

Gunner couldn't but to groan at how klutz he is. But he is still thankful because he had it sent to the officials. Right now he shouldn't be felt relieve because he must stay into action because he have now Ross by his side.

And without his knowing what he had said back earlier of what he have done to Slasher makes him trusted him more. Also being a detective it was easy for him to recall what he had seen for a short while there. He wasn't showing off but it was like he have this photographic memory ability which is why sometimes Slasher needs his help whenever he had an errands to get to.

'What will I do now?" he asked to himself as he scratch the cement to at least dig a small hole again since he have no longer his smart phone with him had no light inside and he wasn't yet used to.

Gunner cursed under his breath again and tries to calm himself because if he will not too he will cause a scene inside which will maybe caught some attention and he doesn't want that.

'I'm so klutz. How on earth did I even trip I am old enough to tripped," he muttered under his breath and exhales.

Gunner slowly closes his eyes wanting to regain his loss energy back there and he might not know that Ross will be fetching him soon. But if not he is on his way again. Time is precious for him that even a second would cost a life of his brother. After recalling his brother he couldn't help but to think of their father. He had changed a lot which makes him so old and was too far different from what he when they have last seen him.

But he wasn't longing for nor misses him after all that he had learned and witness about him. What kind of parent would get his children be captive and especially be experimented on? A parent like that is a devil and he was also the reason why their mother died. Gunner was sure of that. His father was the reason and not because he was just young back then but he could tell the depression from anxiety or just tired. Their mother always tells them that she was just tired and just needed a rest. But he and Slasher doesn't believe her because every night they hear her cries which breaks them also. Their mother cries because of their father and then one day their father got home they just fight for the whole day and then he left. Gunner and Slasher understands what their mother is feeling and those emotions are nothing for their father instead he yelled at her tell her nasty things out of reason that their mother didn't know why.

That was the last time that they have seen their father and they were just thankful for it because neither of them doesn't want him in their lives even though they dreamed of a happy family but having a father like that it is a no thanks for them.

Gunner's hand formed into a fist causing his knuckles turns to white as he recalls that face of their father down there. His aura was different something like an evil human. He had the stomach to look at those young boys died out in vain and innocence. They are also humans but they treat them like an animal. Gunner then touch his leg as he remembered that Ross had peeled off his skin and as far as he remembered it was still swelling but now it looks like it didn't even have a scratch or have it peeled back then.

'How did that happen?" he couldn't help but to ask himself in surprised. It was just like a magic.

Out of his knowledge from what Ross had told him back then but because he was unconscious and couldn't hear what he was telling him. Ross told him that the skin that was stitch to him had this kind of germs that would help him in not feeling the pain anymore it was like an anesthesia for not feeling anything even if you are hit. It was also an experiment of Dr. Vega which he had injected to every of his subjects. He had everything under controlled and from his intelligence he is a devil. A devil with such a brilliant mind. Dr. Vega was born to take the world and the maybe the only person who could save the world is no other than a commoner detective, Gunner.

But what Ross had forgot to advise him was he should be very much careful even if he will not feel anything when in pain or have him hit something because his body is still vulnerable into pain and maybe he will have an internal bleeding that will cause his death.

Gunner again tried to punch the cement with his bare hands and yes it was true he didn't even feel pain but he just waited to feel anything but failed. He then learned that his hand is bleeding and shaking but there was no pain.

'This is still bad," he said which cause him to massage his temples and closes his eyes. 'I guess I have to talked to Ross if there is an antidote to this kind of situation and I hope there is," he said but it hit him that it could may be an advantage for him in the future that if they have to be extra careful and something had hit him he will not cause any noise and other advantages will be known soon.

'Yet still," he murmured not having an enough answer to somehow felt relieve.

A minute passed as he tries to calm himself. It was all silence and from that silence you could even hear the stream of his blood in his veins. A silence that can damage his hearing. He could even hear now his heart beat and the air that was coming out from his nose and every time that he swallowed is own lump.

He was thinking so many things until he doze off and put himself at sleep. Little did he know that Ross was watching him.
