Chapter 98

General Arthur was astounded when he heard from the securities that the White House couldn't contact the President and even the other soldiers and now they are worried sick. Yet they are still waiting for their call or signal because even they do not know what to do since all of the chiefs and leaders were all there and nothing left inside of the White House none other than the Vice President. The President told her to stay in the Palace because she will be the one to be contacted if needed too. Which now making her worried because it had been twenty-four hours since they have left and they should already have radio them from the time that they have landed yet now they are not receiving anything from them.



Arthur couldn't help but to laugh as he thought of karma was on their way so fast and thinking that they were already maybe in their doom he just couldn't help but to also feel worried about his family. Aside from that he couldn't help but to also think about that kid named Joemar and he swear that if ever they fate collide he will make him pay for what he had done to him. But before that he should do a little background on him and he will do that tonight because he had request for a visit to his family since he was not in jury to be prisoned and since it is not yet running he had the rights to requests for leave but in return he had securities that would be following him. He had no choice but to agree and had no rights to decline after all because that was the order and the Vice President was the one who ordered such a task.



'Don't let your eyes takes off of him," the Vice President says to the securities that were appointed to him. She didn't even lay a stare at him because she was her most trusted person in the Palace and had betrayed so much so she couldn't stare at him for a long time.



They were college friends and have been more than that. From then they have been in a secret relationship but they have no label or anything it is just like they just wanted to have each other's back. Years passed when she, Samantha, departed to California to continue her study the two has lost their contacts to each other.



Even Arthur was hoping that she could just lay her eyes on him even just for a second but she didn't. It had hurt him but he never feels that way before because he thought he had move on because from the fact that he had his own family right now and even a daughter he still has this hanging feeling for her. He couldn't help but to feel guilty of having that kind of feeling it feels like he was betraying his own wife. He shook his head and concentrate on what was happening to the present and from the fact that he had a chance to visit his family he also had a chance to do a background check of Joemar by using the laptop of his daughter.



'Okay your time is ticking and expects to be out of here for two hours from now. We already have contacted your family and they are already expecting for your arrival," the leader of the security stated as he looked at him with stern eyes.

'Thank you," he responded and the security just snorted as a reply because it was not like him to say his gratitude of thank you because he was well-known as a self-centered man which he is.



Arthur didn't fight back of what just the security has behaved and he just let it because he knew what was the reason behind I even him was surprised saying his thank you because he wasn't used of telling that word.





Two hours passed . . .

Arthur was out of the prison and was escorted to where his family is and that is in the safe house. He was somehow excited to see his loving daughter and it had been a week since they haven't gets in contact with his wife or even a phone call. He loves his family so much but there is a room inside of him that was weird whenever he thought about Samantha. He should erase him immediately to his mind and focus on what he has now.



It was just about a one and a half hour of drive from the white palace to the safe house. It was a long hour of drive not calculating the two hours that he have waited which was three and a half of hour before he could meet his family. It was already near in the evening and he holds firmly the bouquet of rose for his wife and cupcakes of his loving daughter which are her favorites.



A smile crossed his lips as he could already see the safe house top meaning they were already near. From his plans he should be spending much time for his family before he could do what he wanted to do and that is to check on his background. He only have a week to spend with his family and that is just fast but he was somewhat grateful for it thinking of the sin that he have done and the ruckus that he have made.



Once he had arrived he was welcomed with an embrace by his daughter and also his wife. They have missed him so much and so does he and he had also felt some guilty in his system because of what he have felt just earlier.



'We missed you so much, honey. How have you been?" Rosaline, his wife asked as he touches his cheeks and guided him to walk where there house is while his daughter was now holding the bouquet and at the same time the cupcakes and from what he had been expecting she was so excited to get a taste of it.



'Thank you so much dad for this lovely cupcakes! It felt like it had been ages since I have eaten this kind of cupcake," she exclaimed which makes him and also Rosaline to laugh heartedly.



'You're very much welcome, sweetheart," he said as he smiled at her and she took a run excited to unwrap the box and to eat it.

'Honey, how have you been? We have heard already what had happened to you," she said and somehow he was taken aback because from what he thought they still have no ideas regarding with that.



'Its okay honey, in fact we are so worried about you," she added and he couldn't help but to smile and kissed her on her cheek.

Aside from the fact that there are five securities in their back that is just distancing themselves from them.



'I'm okay, honey and feeling even more great when I got to see you guys especially you, honey," he said which earned giggled from Rosaline.



As soon as they get into their house three of the securities stayed upfront while the two where in the backyard and they were also having a comfort there since they have a shelter and from the backyard they have their own rooms.

Times passed and they have enjoyed every little time that they have spent together. They watch movies, eating their favorite dishes and also they have shared it with the securities outside. That is when Arthur has felt what the true meaning of family is it. How come he had never seen it before? If he had then maybe he haven't been serving the dark side. He hated himself so much for wasting so much energy and time from being so blind and was just after for money. He watched his wife arranging the flower to the vase happily as she smells those it was her favorite flowers and those are pink carnations just she love the color and at the same time he watched her daughter eats the cupcake from time to time and also save of at least three and hiding it to the fridge which earned him a laugh because she even labeled it with her name and noted of ‘private property' he was somehow proud of her because she keeping up her good grades and also have her good academics which earned her honors in every end of the semester.



He also questioned himself on where he was at that time when giving honors in the school for his daughter. Oh, yes, he remembered he was busy searching for money even though he have so much in his bank account and yet he still wanted more which was irritating to think from the start. However they still love him and have nothing against him even though he was a bad figure of being a father and also being a husband. He had failed being like that one but he promised himself that he had to clean his name and pay all of his sins and after that he will resign to his job and just build a business that his wife was dreaming about and that a coffee shop, with cakes and books and that was also the request of his daughter. He had much savings right now and he can give that in no time for them. Just as soon as it goes to normal.



It was bedtime already and his wife has requested her to do something that they always do because it had been a long time since they have met again. He loves his wife so much that he put aside the thing that he wanted to do and maybe he had to do it later. Also he had already requested to his daughter if he could borrow her laptop and she gladly lend it to him.

'So how are you going to fix everything out there?" Rosaline asked and he took a deep breath before answering her.



'I will do everything to fix it as soon as possible, honey, and you don't need to worry about it okay? I got it and can manage all of it," he said which makes her wife smile even though it doesn't quite reach her eyes and he could see that she was worried about him too.



'I have borrowed a laptop from Rose and I have something to search for, is that okay with you, honey, if I work now?" he said and Rosaline looked at him and shakes his head.



'No, stay with me here until I get to sleep because it had been ages since you haven't get into me" she said which earned her a kiss coming from him.



Arthur stayed with her until she gets asleep but before that they have make love for how many times before she gets to sleep. And he couldn't help but to smile at her while she was sleeping soundly and kiss her forehead. He carefully gets out from the bed not wanting to wake her up and grab the laptop which was at the top of the table that was just next to him.

He pulled a chair and opens the laptop and does what he had wanted to do.



Hours have passed and still he has no information on him. He groaned in frustration because he had searched everywhere and still nothing and of course he had search his name in the black market since he still has an access to get in there but he was also planning to block himself there after everything was fixed. His name wasn't there either and he looked everywhere and there was nothing so how on earth will he going to start again from the scratch?



He laid his back to the swivel chair and closes his eyes as he massages his temples. It is now giving him headaches that will soon pass as a migraine in no time. Minutes passed of closing his eyes he was then taken aback when he remembers something. It was like a tattoo or birthmark that he had already seen one like it. And it was at the back of his neck.

'Bingo!" he exclaimed and he nearly hushed himself because that was too loud and he might awakened his wife but as he looked at he she was still sleeping soundly and he have nothing to worry about of it now.



His fingers type so fast in the keyboard as he search the name of the President of Japan.



'President Seiji," he uttered under his breath and as he taps the enter and started loading the screen pop out an images which was a way too different from the face of Joemar.



He placed his chin to his hand because as he keeps on scrolling there are no signs that he could see the back of his neck. But he was totally sure that he got one. He stops from scrolling because he will have no chance to see it instead he run a background check on him.



As he scrolls there were nothing to say about his family but somehow he had seen the surname Gambit into one of the articles. From what he knew that surname was Dr. Vega's last name. And maybe they are indeed related to each other since Dr. Vega is residing to Japan? And also if Joemar was just disguising himself and if he was the Prime Minister of Japan then how on earth he was having a double body while someone was acting as a Prime Minister out there. But Being in Japan had no impossible in their system and they could do everything that they wishes for just like Dr. Vega he could do impossible things to possible.



So there is no doubt and if ever that Joemar is no other than Seiji maybe President Samuel had already knew it by now and they are facing great danger. He couldn't believe that it was earlier he had just cursed them and he was happy because that was karma for them. He takes that back because in the end he will suffer for it too and not to mention his family as well and the whole world will be facing doomsday.



'Joemar . . . Seiji . . . who are you?" he uttered and took a deep breath and sighed.



But he felt that he was near for the truth and since he couldn't find more in the internet about him it was a good thing that he hasn't yet got out from the black market and he could do some research in there which where he was good at. He was good at everything when it comes to being in the dark and he swears that it will be the last time that he will lurk in there because he will not be in peace if he will not even take a look of who was Joemar is. From earlier he remembered telling himself that he will make him pay but now he was already having second thoughts about it. He had himself eaten his own tongue thinking that he was facing already the Prime Minister of Japan all those times.



And if he was the President then he knew what he had been doing all along while he was in white palace and no wonders his behavior towards him was different which was like he had so many debts to him. And also he had this mark at the back of his neck too. He had come face to face the Prime Minister of Japan way before when President Samuel including him have pays him a visit. He just coincidentally sees that and it was not his intention from the first and it was years before and now it all making sense for him because he could use it as his analysis.



As Arthur was making his black coffee and stirring the cup he just couldn't take a concentrate to what he was doing right then because all of what he thinks about was Joemar the nerd kid who was trying to tease him with those eyes. And yet in the end he was the person whom he was working for. He was the person whom he had been sending emails with the documents that he had stolen from the White Palace.



He groaned in frustration as he took his way back to his chair and sigh, 'The heck did I do?" he uttered and cursed under his breath as he recalled all of the situations that he got into with Dr. Vega and Joemar. He was all along facing the Prime Minister of Japan and was freely walking and lurking around in White Palace and to say that he was handling the documents of President Samuel as he was the most trusted in his eyes. But from the first time that he had laid eyes on him he feels uneasy at him because of the way he looks at him, it was like he was mocking at him which is why he had this bad temper on him.



He still couldn't forget on how on earth he had confronted him which was like he was not the Joemar that he used to know because those times he was different. He was a change person. An dhe bets even the President was surprised yet it was all covered something else because of what he had confessed. He was a total dork that time and from the looks of his eyes that he couldn't forget was him mocking him again and he swear that time he wanted to get those eyeballs of him and stump it with his own bare feet.

As soon as he gets back into his chair he looks again to his wife and she was still sleeping soundly and he couldn't tell when the last time he had seen her sleep like that again was. He guesses it was a long long time when he have seen her like this he was never in their home and he stays at his office where he had his own room and waiting for checks and money to go for him. Yes, he had explained it already to his family about his job and what was the reason why he was working so hard and that was true because all of those were for them because he doesn't want them to have a life like his before. He didn't get what he needed especially when it comes to his studies because his parents were poor and he promised himself that day that his future family won't even feel it.



A tear escape from his eyes of what lesson in his life he had faced and realize right now. He was a dumb for realizing it just now. What lesson that thought him is money is not everything yet if were talking about the reality then money is everything but all in all what you lack is time management. The lacking of time to the person that you love because you don't balance the two from it and because you are just focusing on one thing and that was money. But time passed by and every seconds of it cannot be turn back anymore and time machine is just a fiction. Yes, you can have money but does that thing help you to turn back time? No, because all those time that had passed by cannot be back so treasure the moments as soon as you can.



Tears streaming down to his cheeks as he immediately wipe it away suing the back of his hand and sniffed what was running through his nose. He then opens the laptop again and look at the screen that was just there he was looking at the picture of Seiji and those eyes really are familiar to him and there is no doubt that it was him.



'Joemar," he uttered under his breath as he again type at the keyboard to begin his searching again and again until his eyes wanted to doze off.



He stares at the clock which says it was already one in the morning and before he closes the laptop he sips his coffee for how many gulps before placing it back to the cup saucer.



The coffee was still smoking hot but Arthur didn't bother sipping it up because of what he had just seen from his background checking. And now he hopes that the President is not in danger and so is the other soldiers out there. It was ironic because he was the one wishing them to have their karma but right now he was praying that all of them were okay and nothing had just happened but by them not contacting or just giving the Vice President a signal that everything was alright was also giving him an eerie feeling. He also knew that being in a safe house is not also safe because that is what he has heard from Dr. Vega but from what he learned upon building this safe house had cost of billions of billions. And from what he have heard from Dr. Vega is that he doesn't know what was in the safe house and how it built. He believes he doesn't know anything about it and he have not told him about it too because even him was also worried of his family and even though he was sending him a large amount of money he still couldn't trust that man and rely the life of his own family in his hands. What he loves about him is only the money and nothing more yet now he was paying all of the debt . . . all the consequences that he had did right then.



He covered his mouth because of he was about to burst into tears and just cried because of the baggage's that he was carrying to himself but he doesn't wanted to cause noise that would result his wife to be awakened but he couldn't hold it any longer until he felt something warm caress in his shoulder which makes him turn his head and was surprised to knew of who it was.



'Rosaline," he called as she was already standing behind him which he didn't even feel his presence.



'You said you are doing fine," he said which makes the tears that were edging already in his eyes had fell down.



He could help it any longer and sobs his face to his chest and Rosaline brushes his hair as she kissed his hair and telling him that everything will be alright soon.



From that time Arthur was feeling blessed of having her as his wife because there is no one he could rely on and even though he had done bad things in his life the gods were still giving him the life to the fullest so he must not waste it and change his life for the better.
