Chapter 60

Gunner looked at Ross to see if he was determined to be left alone together with their father. He didn't want to leave him but he doesn't want to waste the buying time of Ross. He nodded to Ross and patted his shoulder.

'We'll be waiting for you there," he stated and turn his back on him.

Gunner looked at Slasher who is unconscious and whose skin is so pale which made him look like a weak guy. He carefully lifted Slasher out from his globe and the wires that was attached to his back had also come loosened by itself. He doesn't know how those wires are connected to his back but he doesn't care anymore. What he wanted to do is for them to get away immediately while Ross is buying time.

From the current weight of him, Gunner can lift him without a single sweat. He is surprisingly light.

'Hold on now. I am here, Slasher," he whispered to his ear even though maybe he doesn't hear him. A tear escape from his eyes as he look at his twin brother's helpless situation. He had come so much that even his reputation had gone wreck.

Slasher had always complimented how good looking they are and much more because they are twins. Even though he knows the compliments are over reacting he couldn't help but to smile as he reminisce those memories. And now he had become like this and if he would be showed outside no one would ever recognize him from the first sight.

Gunner promised that he would do everything just to get Slasher back from his normal state. He just prayed that Slasher will not let go because they are almost near to freedom. He carry him as he run as fast as he could and he could bare hear him breathing which was somehow a good news because he was still breathing.

'That's right just breath. Keep on breathing, Slash," he said and took a left route and they are almost near from where Ross' secret hideout.

He also thought of how on earth he will drag Slasher from that underground tunnel that only one person could fit inside. He ignored that thought and just keep on running when suddenly he heard a shout coming from Ross which made him worried.

'Gunner! Catch!" he exclaimed and Gunner turn his head but doesn't even see Ross neither their father.

'What is he saying?" he whispered out of thin air wondering what on earth he will catch when suddenly something caught his eyes. It was shiny and it looks like a small card which like a boomerang swirling and was coming into his way.

He quickly catches it and stared at it and then it him. It was the card that he had told him about the elevator thing. He smiled and from his heart he is forever grateful for Ross, their cousin.

He looked for the elevator and his eyes landed at the corner that is somehow shaded by a shadow. It was indeed the elevator and Gunner without a second thought quickly took an action and run while carrying Slasher in his arms. He doesn't mind at all the weight that he carries and all he wanted to be for them both to get out of there immediately. He swipes the card to the elevator and it responded accordingly and the elevator itself opened and he quickly enter inside and closes it using the card swipe.

'Come on… come on," he said as the elevator closes so slowly even though he is not sighting their father.

His eyes landed to the young boys who are now unconnected to the wired in their back which cause them to slumped their body from the globe and all of them are unconscious and he somehow felt guilty because he was the reason why are they like that but he just hopes that it will not do them wrong. He just prays that they will not die and what he had promised before is already engraved in his heart and he will do as his promises even if it takes his life in the line.

Gunner couldn't help but to get nervous as the elevator closes and it started going up. He doesn't know where it will take them and from what Ross had said Dr. Vega is out of the building yet he doesn't know when he will get back. He needs all the gods in his side by this time. He was shaking as he carries his twin brother in his arms. He had seen bruises in his arms and something that he couldn't describe what because it was his first time to see such a thing. But whatever it is he will have to know it for himself or he had to wait for Ross to explain it to him.

The elevator had stopped which made him feel the sudden stop and it opened. Gunner firstly roamed his eyes around and secure that no one was around and he was somehow familiar of the area.

As soon as they got out of the elevator he turn his back when he realizes that the area which made him so familiar was the path that he had already seen from the very start because it had no other route to take. The elevator slowly closes and it was after all a wall which you will not realize that it was an elevator.

'Clever," he whispered as he carried out Slasher and his feet makes his way as if it knows already the way of their room. 'Please don't show up," he silently prayed as he run in fast paced as he catch his breath that even though Slasher is light weighted he had no more energy left in his stamina and felt like fainting but he force himself to keep going. He will not let anything in failure. He had gone so far and fainting and resting in a wrong place is not a good idea.

'Come back, Ross," he said as he thought was is already happening down there and he wishes that everything was under control by Ross.

He wasn't expecting that his father was that kind of strong but what could he expect from the apprentice of Dr. Vega he had anything that he could wish and use for.

Yet he couldn't help but to recall the time that their eyes have met. Their father‘s eyes were still the same. The same eyes that they see whenever they ask him for a hug and he was happy to do it for them and now he is already having a second though if all of those were just a show and what was true was their father hates the both of them and their mother. But nothing in the end will changed his perspective in seeing their father really is even the lecture of his twin brother. Slasher was always defending him which cause the two of them sometimes turns into a fight but in the end they always keep in a good way. And somehow Gunner was wishing that Slasher would make him back into his senses of what their father had did to them.

Gunner shakes his head as he recalls the past which makes him cringed. 'Got to make it fast," he said as he almost out of breath and could already see their room.

'We are here," he said and looked at Slasher who is in a deep sleep but somehow he looks like in a nightmare and in needs of waking up.

Gunner took the doorknob and grip it slowly and entered the room. He slowly lay down Slasher in the bed and he places his hand in his forehead to see if he was in fever or not. But Slasher isn't he was just in a deep of sleep.

After he laid down Slasher he slumped his tired body in the hard floor as he keeps in catching his breath and get it to normal pace.

'What now?" he whispered as he closes his eyes and massage his temple. He knows that after this and when Dr. Vega arrived he will surely be alarmed and their life will be in danger.

There is not much time left and Dr. Vega might pull the trigger of using those armies into them and he was somehow not prepared of that. 'What now please?" his voice cracks as he keeps on repeating his question to himself that even him couldn't answer. He was out of plans and especially now that he is weak and not rest even though he had rested for week it was still then a useless because he had only spent it for a day of rescuing. How lame he is for being such too called a rescuer of his twin brother.

The true hero back there was no other than their cousin, Ross.

'I'm useless in here," he whispered as he cover his eyes with his arm and tears were flowing in his cheeks.

He looked at the situation of his brother and thought of how they had come ending such a terror fate. Is this is their fate forever? When everything was doing well even just for a little time then a big hindrance is always welcoming him. Not ever in his plans had go under his control but he kept on moving and moving on and even though sometimes he had loosen hope he always keep on thinking of Slasher. Their big dreams and goals for their careers. From the start all of what they wanted in life is to have a comfortable life and his brother was ready to settle his life even though he doesn't want too but it was his brother life. He could still remember their conversation back then about the girl that he is kept on talking about.

'What are you smiling in there?" he asked which makes Slasher looks at him as he turn off his smart phone.

'Well, you know the girl that I am talking about to you yesterday," he answered as he took a cup of coffee at the kitchen and took a sip.

'Yes, you keep on babbling her name all day which makes me now irritated and wants to leave this home and start building my own house too," he said as he also makes himself a tea rather than the black coffee. He needs to calm himself from the loads of works that he is now facing.

'That is a great idea after all Gunner, which I might really needs this house for us. I think I got to marry her," he said which makes Gunner spits the tea out of his mouth from shocked.

Gunner wipes his mouth using the tissue in front of them and laugh at his brother's face. 'You two just meet yesterday and if the two of you get married then sooner or later you the detective will file for an annulment. You know there is a word court and getting to know each other. And maybe you have totally forgotten that we are detectives ourselves and also maybe you forgot these built we also do background checks and I am not against you being tied up to a woman that would made your world go upside down but is it too early for that? Take it easy and do it step by step," he said which makes Slasher laugh at his face. He wasn't serious after all and he was just playing with his twin brother.

He knows that Gunner isn't ready yet to be alone but he is practicing him to be independent already without him. Of course they are twins and the twins are having a hard time being away with each other.

'I'm just playing with you," he said which earned him a throw of a spoon which was already near in his face but his reflexes were quick and he immediately catches it. Gunner wasn't surprise of him at all because his brother's reflexes are sensitive which made him envy his ability for it that he wished that he had also some.

'Quit playing with me remember we are in the same age," he commented which was completely true and Slasher shakes his head.

'We are twins but that doesn't mean that we are in the same age because I was the first who were came out of mom's womb and you came last. And that doesn't seems surprising at all because you adapted that trait of yours becoming late in every session," he laughed and Gunner couldn't even help but to laugh at himself too.

'But seriously are you that eager to marry that woman you are talking too?" Gunner couldn't help but to ask him and Slasher was expecting that question later on because he knows his twin he will not be quiet not until he had known the answer.

'Of course I have to get to know her more but trust me she is kind. She is like our mother but as to what I have told you. I am going to know her a little more and will just keep on courting her and learn to accept her flaws and her true self of course. I have learned that from our mom and I don't even know why one earth is she telling those to me even though we were still young back then but you know what I couldn't forget the most?" he asked and Gunner was somehow curious to it and just act like he didn't care about it but he was all ears.

'Do you remember that day that you have witnessed that I was crying and you believe that it was your fault because of those chocolates? He told me many things that I didn't understand in our young mind and I couldn't rephrase all of it but one thing that engraved in my mind and in my heart is to never leave you and should take care of you because we are twins and I am more mature than you," he stated and laughed at the last sentence that he had spurted out.

'Yes, I remember that. I hate our mother somehow but he had done so much for us. She never leaves us in despair. She made sure that before she leaves us we are settled and okay. As to what you have said because we are still young back then and we couldn't understand what is really going on with our mom and dad. She had suffer for how many years before she finally wishes for her rest. And that rest is unforgivable for me because are we not enough for her to be the reason for to just live and watch us grow together with her?" he stated and there was pain in his voice and tears were already showing in his eyes which he immediately blinks until it will not shed anymore.

He heard Slasher sighed and place his cup at the saucer and lit up his cigarette, 'It wasn't easy for her Gunner and even though we are in front of her the reason of why we are here in this world is the man who left us, our father. We resembles so much with our father that every time we grow up she sees the face of our father in our faces and she couldn't handle it so much we bring so much pain in her every day in case you miss it and you don't know it. She had suffer so much and of course I was somehow broken hearted because of that and make me want to hate our father not being able to visit our mom in her funeral not even his shadow. But you know what I have learned after that? It is that we couldn't please anyone even our family. We just have each other back then not even a single relative are there for us. Even our neighbors doesn't want us. They don't even took pity but we were just lucky enough that the boss of our mom paid all of the debts and funeral of her. And then when we were about to lost our hope for us to study is when a blessing came In and we have a full scholarships and food in out of our door which also made me curious of who is the person sending that to us. It was almost a perfect and I didn't believe that it was our father who is sending those blessings. There was someone else," he longly stated which caught the attention of Gunner because he too notice those things.

It wasn't just Slasher. It was too good to be true for them because of what happened to them but their mother had a savings for them that they don't want to touch because there will be a time for them touch it and that is when they graduated from their studies and they will use it to build their own office.

'You notice that too?" Gunner asked which Slasher slowly nodded himself and closes his eyes as he tried to remember that face of the man in the wind shield of the car. He was sure he had seen it. It was just his mind playing with the faces in his head.

'Have you seen his face?" Slasher said because as to what the tone of the voice of Gunner it looks like he had seen that man.

'Not really but we are in the same boat it was too good to be true but we still accept it and later on he had just gone right? He never showed up again like a Santa Claus. Which made me instantly believes that Santa Claus exist," he said which earned them a laugh.

'Who would it be in the end and we might learn who he is we must be grateful for him. Because he is after all our living guardian when no one was there for us. And I bet he was the one who pays all the debt and the funeral of our mother. It wasn't her boss because her boss wouldn't do such a thing," he said and Gunner nodded his head totally agreed in what he had said.

'I promise that we will get out of here, Slash even if it takes my life. You should go on with your life because between the two of us you have the biggest dream of all," he whispered as he look at his twin who is still in deep sleep and little did he know that he was slowly dozing off.

Gunner was pinching himself not to be asleep but he just couldn't it was just like his eyelids were like a curtain wanting to close the show.

Meanwhile Ross was still fighting with Dr. Brace and because he is slowly becoming normal he is not like his state before of someone who is strong, sneaky, and wise. He had been catching his breath as they keep on catching each other and Ross was somehow surprise of how strong Dr. Brace is now because as from what he had known he was weak and not very athletic.

'Tired already?" Dr. Brace asked in a mocking tone of voice as he smiled looking at Ross who is already catching his breath.

Drinking that serum that would gain him some energy really works but it is only for a limited time and the consequences after that it his body will be weak from what his normal state is. But Dr. Brace didn't care about that as long as he could kill Ross and even his two sons. And even though Mr. Hiro Fushita had told him what he had investigated about his life he is still not satisfied about it and nothing would change his mind after all. What changed his direction is not to trust again Dr. Vega about his life and he should also think of a plan of how to out wise him.

'I'm still young and I have observed base from the sweats in your forehead which somehow in strange color and it is green huh. I bet you drank that serum which Dr. Vega experimented huh," he mocked and Dr. Brace smiled of how clever he is. He wiped the beads of sweats in his forehead using the back of his hand.

'Clever but still a stench of something like traitor. Aren't you familiar with it huh?" Dr. Brace mocked and Ross didn't even care much of that is what running into his mind.

'A traitor? Maybe you should say it to yourself huh," Ross commented back which made Dr. Brace in flaming in red and thought to himself if there is something that he knows from his life or he was just mocking him.

Dr. Brace pulled out again five daggers out of the back of his pants and smoothly throw it away to him which he immediately avoided it with no efforts at all which makes Dr. Brace grunted his teeth.

'Is that all you can do? Throw girly combs?" Ross laughed and throw him a look and sprinted a run to him which made him surprise by his sudden action.

Ross grip his neck and tossed him in the air with little to no of his effort. He had been saving up of his energy for him to attack Dr. Brace and he couldn't wait until his bare hands is on his neck and he doesn't care if Dr. Brace is his relative because he have no right to hurt his two sons for no reasons and if that reason is because of money and power then he is not a father at all.

'You are just like my father," he couldn't help but to say it and he doesn't care at all if he will know who is he in his life and that doesn't matter at all in this time because nothing would ever change.

'I am nothing like your father," he commented which earned him a laugh or maybe he already knew it and he is just playing games with him.

'Sure you are, in fact you are siblings," he said which made him numb. Dr. Brace knows everything about Ibiza which was his true names was Ross and he was a son of his brother.

The brother which is also his enemy. He had no family and he was okay with that and he also wishes to kill his brother in no time.

'So you already know huh," he said which made Ross even more disgusted to him. He already knows yet he had let everything in a horror way. He was a living devil.

And that is when Ross realizes how much they are unlucky of their father. How much hatred that even the gods throw them in this kind of dungeon in their lives and the sons and the ones who is paying all the debt of their parents. Does they have no freedom to have their own lives too and they still needed to feel everything that is uncanny and full of terror?

What else he can learn upon unlocking the truth in his life? What else are awaiting for him? For them? He was somehow felt sympathy to the twins too because of how their father's perspective to them. Their father looks at them like they were nothing and just an animals that is born to be experimented on just like his father.

'You are sick," he said and pull his arms and twisted it which earned Dr. Brace an agony of pain which echoes the whole room. 'Felt that? That is how your sons feel to you. Anger," he said as he twisted again his arms enough for him to hear cracking sound in his bones and the scream that he is making is making him somehow in ecstasy.

'Call me whatever you want and I don't about those two. All I care about is nothing but myself," he said as he cried in agony and his throat was like tearing him apart every time he speaks.

And with the Ross pulled even more his arm as he twisted it again with all of his might and put a force in his legs and pulled it even more until it tore it from his body. Blood spurted out as he got his arms swaying in the air and Dr. Brace couldn't believe what he is witnessing. He looks at his arms and it was a pool of blood and a fountain of blood spurting out.

Dr. Brace screamed at the top of his lungs as he felt the pain in his arm. He looked at Ross who is devilishly smiling at him as he lift his arms in the air lifelessly.

'How dare you?!" he screamed as he drooled and his eyes were in red and widely opened.

'Because you dare me too," he commented and laughed as he put the bleeding part of his arm into Dr. Brace's mouth and make him munched it like a pig. 'Eat you pig!" he added and control his jaw as he do it up and down and the saliva which was coming out of his mouth was drooling into his hand with some of it were blood but Ross didn't care because he was somehow used to it.

But of how much human he did kill it was him, Dr. Brace makes him more satisfied of what he is doing right now. He was doing it for Gunner and Slasher, his cousins. And because he is a brother of his father which their faces kind of quiet resemble he is also imagining that it was him which made him the guts of pulling out of his arm. And that is not yet the end of it. He had to do something more brutal. He will not kill Dr. Brace that fast. He had to make him feel it slowly and step by step until he begs for forgiveness but nothing would ever change so he may plead or not it is still death will welcomed him. And he was aware of what will he become if he dies and he had already prepared himself for that. In the world they are living in all that Ross felt was pain and suffer from his childhood moment until now. He haven't experienced too much happiness in his life what he had in his memory is how his mother had always comforted when someone bullies him at school and she had made him calm in her arms.

And also upon knowing Gunner and even though they haven't meet in a good way by Slasher he knows that those two young boys are kind and have big dreams in life. Unlike him he had so many dreams that was replenished by the formula of Dr. Vega and make him forget things completely but it was his first choice after all to embrace the darkness because he somehow felt that he was belong in there. When no one is there for you and you are just all alone by yourself the only thing that you would see in your life is loneliness and darkness. When you feel like everything was against of you and everything is not going under your control and in your plans even though how many time you tell to yourself that everything is going to be alright but nothing comes out in the right path. And he even thought that maybe even the gods are against of him being born in the world of humans because he is a product of devil which was true. He sometimes had hated himself but that day it was Dr. Vega who had embrace the whole of him and because he had nothing to lose and nothing was in his side he had taken the path of him with no idea of what will go on in his life of his future.

Dr. Brace was vomiting and drooling as he eats the edge of his arms and swallowed it because of Ross. Ross takes out of his arm out of Dr. Brace mouth and look at him as he laughed satisfied of what he did to him. 'Tasty? That is the taste of hell, Dr. Brace," he mocked as he laughed again and Dr. Brace kept on vomiting and spitting the flesh and blood that is in his mouth.
