Chapter 63
'Gunner, you're back."
Gunner looked at his surroundings and couldn't believe what he is witnessing. It was their garden at the back of their house. And in front of him is his mother who is busy planting her little cactus in a pot. He smiled at the sight of her as she wipes her sweats in her forehead using the back of her hand while she is holding her little tool.
The sunshine ray was perfect for a picnic but it was even more perfect as he sees her mother's eyes happy upon seeing him. The eyes that he didn't even see a shadow of any depression. There was no sadness in her eyes even a bit of it. His heart skips a beat and there were already liquid at the edge of his eyes that wants to shed out.
'I bet you are hungry as a cow now huh. Go grab something to eat inside and I baked cheesy spaghetti there if you want," she said and a sudden jolt of spark ignited into his heart because it was nostalgic and he admits that he misses that so much.
A tear suddenly fall down into his cheeks as he looked at his mother. This was how he imagined his mother to be. Without hesitation and even though he knows that it was only a dream he run to his mother and embrace her so tight that he doesn't want to let her go in his arms. He kisses her cheeks for how many times and even her forehead which makes her mother giggles at his sudden actions.
'What had got in to you?" her mother asked as she gestured back the hug and kiss into his cheeks.
He shakes his head while his chin was still in her shoulder. 'I miss you mom," he murmured and she laugh as she combs the back of his hair.
'Remember I regret everything that I have done way back then. I wish I have become your mother until the end. I wish I have taken care of you and Slasher until the end of my life. Remember I love the both of you and please make a way to escape. Wake up, Gunner," her mother said as she grab his arms and make him face her.
'Wake up, Gunner! Wake up, Gunner!"
Gunner winced in pain as he slowly opens his eyes yet he suddenly jolted out from where he was lying and looked at the bed where Slasher is. And to his surprise he was sitting already and was looking at him. Slasher smiled as soon as their eyes met.
'Slash," he called as he slowly stands from his place and embrace him which he immediately returns the gesture.
'I'm happy that you are okay, Slash. How are you feeling? Are you hungry and thirsty? I have food in here stock somehow. Wait I'll get it for you," he said with a worried tone in his voice. He couldn't believe that he had already Slasher with him.
Gunner took at least two breads and the water that was left in the bottle and gave it to Slasher. He drinks it slowly as if he is just sipping it his lips and slowly swallowing it.
'You should gain energy somehow because that is what we should have in order to escape in here," he said and Slasher slowly nodded his head and smiled.
'You have managed to get me out of there," he slowly said as he was catching his breath and Gunner could feel how weak he was.
'Yes, it was all thanks to our cousin, Ibiza, which his true name is Ross," he commented which makes Slasher gave him a questioning look.
'I know you know Ibiza which was my enemy here from the very first moment that we laid our eyes on. But the atmosphere changed when he had found out something. It was a long story but I will tell you all of it because I know you. You won't stop asking me if I won't tell you the whole story,' he commented and Slasher smiled as he shakes his head slowly and munches a small bite of the bread.
He knows that he was also hungry and thirsty in that kind of situation but Slasher knows how to handle himself. From a long-term of not eating and drinking you should take it slowly when you will start eating and drinking again just not to shock your body or metabolism.
'Ibiza is our cousin. Our father had a brother which we didn't know from the start and even mom didn't bother telling us. I believed in him because he had information's that only we know. He also had this picture and in every places and events in his life was just like ours and he didn't just make it up because it was too much impossible. I am a detective and I know if that person tells lies or not. He is also the one who help me to get you out of there and maybe until now he is fighting our father. He's here," he said which makes Slasher's face changed. It was the face of fear and anxiety which makes him worried and felt sympathy to his brother. He blames himself for being so slow to get him out of there.
'Yes, he is here. That bastard man he is not our father. And don't call him our father anymore because he isn't and he never will be our father because he doesn't deserve it. I was the one who keeps on defending him and I feel guilty about it. I feel guilty defending him in front of our mom," his voice cracked and he covers his face with his bare skinny and pale hands.
'Don't blame yourself because we are just young back then. For now we should plan on how we would get out of here. We should wait for Ross to get back here but if he doesn't get back then we are on our own now," he said and Slasher nodded his head in agreement.
