Chapter 70
Ross groaned in pain as he awoke from a bad dream. It was a dream of him together with his father which is now making him sick. He then learns that he had slept for an hour or maybe more than that. He slowly roamed his eyes around the room adjusting his vision due to the dim light and that is also when he felt the pain that was throbbing in his head. It was new to him since he didn't feeling such a thing before since the day that he was injected with that serum yet now that he is slowly coming back into his normal shape he wasn't prepared about this kind of pain.
'Too much pain," he groaned as he slowly put himself into a yoga sit and took a deep breath. There wasn't enough water for him to drink and they needed to refill it. Ross jolted out of the bed and start searching for the water bottle and that is when he realizes that Gunner was not around.
'Gunner?" he called his name and roamed his eyes around that maybe he just didn't see him but his presence wasn't there and he started to get worried.
He then quickly looked at where Slasher is and he was sound asleep as well but the question is where the hell Gunner is? He was starting to get worried because of what he was thinking that he wishes that it is no possible. But as to what he had witnessed that the water bottle is missing then his instincts are right.
'Oh, Gunner! Please be safe," he uttered and before he decided to leave he secured that Slasher was alright and have enough of air for him to breathe. He opens slightly the cover and smiled as he looked at him with a light heart. He had seen his cousins now and have saved them somehow but it was not completely safe to say that they are already in a good state unless they have get out of the building and he will do everything for them to escape.
And if ever he won't make it then he would made sure that the two brothers will be saved. At least for once in his life he had do such a good thing aside from the heinous crime that he had committed inside of the WIC building.
Ross quickly walked where the door is and firstly checked if no one was outside since he is slowly getting back into his shape he could no longer fight like before. He had loss enough energy of him upon fighting with Dr. Brace which the meaning is he should do a quick action pertaining to Dr. Vega if ever they will be caught but he was already expecting for that time that they would be caught because Dr. Vega was not a foolish and dumb man. He will never get easy on them and they should be preparing for it and he bets that Gunner already knows it.
As he secured that no one was outside he slowly grip the doorknob and opens the door without making any much noise. He runs in errands and while his eyes were searching for Gunner hoping he could spot him.
'Where are you?" he whispered out of the moist air as he turn his head from left to right in the cross ways. He then realizes where he could be by now.
'My room?' he questioned to himself and also he knew that he didn't even mention where his rooms is but knowing Gunner being an observant person and could learn every details he knows where he is going now.
Ross smiled as to how intelligent Gunner is and also Slasher. He knows from the start that Slasher was the one who had called him which makes him suspicious upon how on earth did he do it while in face he was inside of the globe and was controlled by Dr. Vega? These two shouldn't be underestimated and he also doubt if Dr. Brace is their father because upon seeing the look of Dr. Brace while they are fighting there are no emotions of regrets in his eyes as he tackled Gunner and Slasher in front of him. A true parent couldn't stand that in real life letting your children stands in dangerous situation.
He was sure that the fate of the two will be changed once they had escape the building and he also wishes his life would too. He wanted to build a new dream outside and restart his life. Pay all of his sins outside and suffer the consequences until he was free. He just wanted to live more and wasn't ready to face death. Yes he admits that from the first time he is well prepared for it but as soon as he knows the secret behind his life and the last thing that he learned that Gunner and Slasher was all along his cousins then his perception in life had changed.
He took a left route and he was now catching his breath and from his estimation he haven't yet running in in a quick pace yet he was having a hard time catching his breath. When he was in high school his immune system is weak so he should expect it that way now.
'Coming back in shape should be better but why am I feeling this way?" he uttered under his breath and sweats were starting to form in his forehead down to his brows and he just let it fall as he run.
It was cold sweat and he was starting to feel like his lips were slowly getting pale like his blood was flushing out. He was feeling of fainting but he fight for it not to get dizzy.
He was almost near where the office of Dr. Vega is and his room was only ten meters away from his and should take a left route and his room was the in the third door.
'I hope you are there, Gunner."
