Chapter 114

Slasher and Samuel had fallen asleep, and Gunner realizes that his twin should have a rest after all of his hard work, especially since he was just regaining his shape. He also talked to him about consuming the serum, which he also had, and urged him to rest because the serum would knock him out and put him to sleep.



While Samuel, on the other hand, felt the same way he did when he was staying in the building from the first to second day, which was tired and sluggish and the feeling that the building was consuming all of his energy. The building was cursed, and Hiro is worried about him because he is the President of the United States, and a lot of people are relying on him because he had all those residents evacuated and all of their vain hope was on him.



Gunner didn't feel of sleeping instead he was worried about those five person that they have saved and when Dr. Vega will notice some of those missing persons it would definitely alarm him and before that happens they have to be act fast.

'Gunner," Hiro called which he immediately turn his head on him and tossed him a plastic package which he instantly catches it with his quick reflexes.



He looked at the package which he was already familiar with it. It was a ration pack or MRE which called Meal ready-to-Eat and it is what military have when they are on wars or have a long travel.



A field ration (combat ration, ration pack, or food packet) is a type of prepackaged or canned military ration. Field rations are distinguished from garrison rations by virtue of being designed for minimal preparation in the field, as well as for long shelf life.

It contains three main meals, dessert meals, high energy snacks, electrolyte drinks and more. All the meals are fully cooked and ready to eat, hot or cold. The main meals are packed in pouches that can be heated by immersing them in hot liquid (boil in the bag) or the contents can be poured into mess tins for heating.



'This is what we eat in here since we can't cook a literal dish in here because it will just smoke out and that would lead us to danger if you know what I mean," he said as he also took a seat and open the pack that he was also holding.



The pack content was main meals that a person could eat for a one stand and it was already complete pack. One is the main meal which was somehow a meat which it also have a minced carrots and minced potatoes and he took the disposable heating kit with disposable stove and alcohol-based fuel tablets and disposable butane lighter. He was familiar with it because one day Slasher had bought of at least a box of ration packs which was given to him as a gift because the military soldier was so fond of him and he had given it to him as a gift which they were really happy because they feel like they were a boys scout that time. He opens that tin can which contains the meat and when it was already hot he had a huge chunk of it because he admits he was hungry at the first sight of it and it had been how many days or even weeks which had been feel like ages of when was the last time he had eaten such a meal like that.

Hiro couldn't help but to smile at the sight of him because he was not just smart but because he was determined for everything and somehow he put sympathy to them because if ever he was the real father of them he wasn't beside them and watch them grow and had stand to be their father and guided them through everything. Looking at him was a heartfelt because he couldn't imagine how these two had survived but they have managed surviving themselves.

The two focus on what they were eating and Hiro assured him that those two also have their own to eat because he had a lot of those and he shouldn't be worrying about that and somehow Hiro want to really take care of them because they seems like a fragile and vulnerable kids to his eyes.

After they have cleaned up their mess Gunner decided to tell him something about the bombs because as he mentioned earlier he had bombs left and maybe it would be the very perfect target for them because if they will do that then Dr. Vega can no longer use those people to become in their astral form.

'As I mentioned earlier and you said you have bombs left with you so maybe we could put that down there already," he said referring to the generator and he nodded his head in agreement.



Hiro took out the bombs from the bag that was in the cabinet and Gunner couldn't help but to be amazed. It was just a small circled with a width of two inches and length of also two inches. It was a heavy metallic bomb and gray in color and has a time in it from the center which he believes that it would where Hiro would made the time of when it will explode. From that looks of it, it seems like it was made exclusively for him and knowing that he was the most billionaire man living in the world he could really do everything that he desires including that one. Gunner couldn't help but to be admired of what Mr. Hiro is for him because he wishes he could be like him someday just like cool detective with so much money with him could really rule the justice because everything could be put out easily when using money. But it had to be very extra careful and have to smart when using it too which he believes he could really well handle it.



'We do it tonight," Hiro said and Gunner nodded his head completing signing himself into it and was determined to take down Dr. Vega.



It didn't changed his mind of what he truly wanted to do to him because of what he had done to his twin brother and to him he wanted to hill him with his own bare hands but he was ashamed to think of that because just earlier eh was nervous upon just seeing him so he had to overcome it. He had to overcome the fear that he had every time he sees him and knowing that he was not alone anymore to that battle he was facing because now he had them with him and the alone word was not anymore suitable for him because now he had a team. Who knows being in the dark all the time and thinking that there is no already hope then the gods rain them a ray of light towards the hope and that hope is them including and he swears that he will not forget him and all of those sacrifices that he had done for them. He will commemorate his memories and even though he didn't see his body he will make sure that he would search for any of his pictures and would lend him flowers every morning once they get back to their normal lives again.



Hiro looked at the direction where Slasher is currently sleeping and smiled and Gunner witnessed that and he couldn't help but to smile secretly because he had the strong feeling that he was indeed their real father because he haven't have this kind of feeling towards the father that they have used to know. He had not felt that towards Dr. Brace because he didn't even laid his eyes to them in sincerity they felt like he was ignoring them and acting that he was busy even though he wasn't and he always finds and says an excuse every time they ask for his time and ask for him to play with them.

Their mother was the one who had stand being their mother and father because Brace had left them after that night. Now that he was dead he didn't feel guilty, sad or anything because he also wanted to kill him and he was determined to do that considering that he was his child and there were no regret in his eyes . . . it was pure evil.



'I am feeling that you have a lot of hatred carrying with you especially in your heart," Hiro said which makes him to look at him and he was already sipping his tea which he didn't even notice that he had stood from his seat to get himself a coffee.



He was too preoccupied remembering the past which he shouldn't be worrying about it now because it doesn't even matter anymore.



'Yes, yes I am," he said directly to the point because there is no use of hiding it to him knowing that he couldn't even hide what was true which was kind of frustrating because he couldn't help but to think if he was the really visible to others because being a detective they should be not visible to others because that is what their job is.



Hiro didn't expect him to tell it to him directly but he was somehow proud because he sees Merliya from his image because she was once directly to the point and they always argue for that because she doesn't like sugar coating everything which he was because he just wanted her to fall in love for him all over again but he ended up being beaten by her words. And that was the reason why he had even love her more because she wasn't just the typical woman that he had meet because she was different and she was his treasure and he was the one who had it wasted because he was a coward but right now that he seen the twins he will do everything just to make everything into the right place. He will straighten things out and he will not live his life to regret.



He also thought if ever they will run a DNA test and it turned out that it was negative of course he will be heartbroken but it doesn't change the fact that he wanted them to be his own children and if that is also okay with them then he would be the very luckiest gut living in the world. If the DNA outcome will be positive then he had nothing to wish for more because he already had everything in his life.



Gunner stood from his seat as he gestured him that he will be also making himself a cup of black coffee and he doesn't even know why he suddenly he gets so fond of drinking coffee or maybe he just misses everything because it reminds him of the outside.

As soon as he gets back to his sit Hiro asked him quite little few things about the generator of how could he say that it was the prefect target to put some bombs on because he admits from the first place he had been thinking about that generator but he thinks that it will be just a waste of bomb and time yet he didn't know the big impact that it will create.



"How did you know about the generator?" he asked and Gunner shrugged his shoulder as he placed back the cup to the sauce that was in from of him.



Gunner sighs and replied, "It was a long story but back then Ross and I were here and we though that breaking the generator was the answer on how we would get SLahser out from that globe not knowing that there is such an office up there. It was the most dangerous thing that we have ever encountered and that would risk Slasher's life because it was like the breather of those subjects down there and if ever we would save all of them then those who have left wouldn't already be used as an astral case Dr. Vega will use them against to us."
