Chapter 29
The skies were painted orange and white and the wind was soft as it damped into your skin. The weather was so great that it could amaze anyone whoever would witness it, just like what Gunner and Slasher are seeing.
The two of them sat in the tall tree where the leaves could shelter them and give them the coolness of wind. They were eating their favorite snack, which was takoyaki, as they looked at the sunset.
'I'll never get tired looking at a scene like this," Gunner said as he took a bite of his takoyaki. 'Especially this," he added as he talked about the takoyaki in his cup, which made Slasher shake his head and just laugh.
Although they are just a minute gap between each other, it seems like Slasher is the mature one.
'Me too," Slasher replied as he took a big bite of his food.
'What is your dream?" Gunner asked as a change of topic and Slasher did not respond, which made Gunner repeat his question again.
Slasher sighed and answered Gunner because he knew that he would not stop until he couldn't answer his question. 'You always ask me this kind of question almost every day and aren't you getting tired of it? I mean my answer won't change, Gunner," he stated, which made Gunner smile at him.
'A heart decision can change in a beat. I am just checking if that is still your dream. And by that I am not even part of your dream," Gunner said with a heavy heart as his eyes averted to the beautiful sky. He doesn't want to get emotional again.
Slasher pulled him as he put his arms on his shoulders. 'Who says you are not part of it? You are my twin brother and every mile of my dream you are part of it. It doesn't mean that I haven't said it out loud. It doesn't mean you are not part of it. In my dreams you are always there, okay? Don't be too mushy. We are not getting any younger now, Gunner. Look at us now, look what state we are in now. Look at what we are eating," he said, and Gunner immediately understood his twin.
'Back then we couldn't even afford to buy new clothes, especially this kind of food. This is our favorite, the food that our mom always makes us whenever we are sad or happy. Since mom died, we have been alone and there is not a glimpse of our dad since then. Our house was deposited in the bank because of dad's debt and also the expense of the funeral of our mom. We were then seen on the streets, sleeping and eating on the streets. In that night of rain, we wished we could eat those smoking hot takoyaki and have hot chocolate milk. Well, look at us now. I am not saying that we are rich, but instead, it is such a big step from what we are now today," Slasher stated, and Gunner could not help but to nod.
Gunner realizes that his twin was right, he was always right and, even though he wanted to say or protest, he would think of it himself and learn that all of those are correct. What's wrong, is him. He could not yet accept that soon they would be apart from each other or he was not yet ready for it. But as he thought that it was his twin's happiness and dream, he would be happy too.
Gunner was about to embrace his twin when suddenly the person who sat beside him was no longer there and the ground that he was sitting on was pure dirt and dry leaves and then, as his eyes averted in front of him, he saw the WIC building.
His heart started to pound so hard and as he blinked his eyes, there he found… Ibiza was staring at him.
Gunner was catching his breath as he awoke from a bad dream and learned that his forehead was in a bead of sweat. He took a seat at the edge of the bed and couldn't help but to put his hands in his face and exhale a deep breath.
He was dreaming all along but it seemed to him that it was real or just because he missed so much of his twin brother. But he still doesn't have the courage to face Ibiza and that is why he was very scared of him until now. It was like death that was chasing him.
He was about to slump his tired body again when he remembered something that was much more important, which made him startled because it was no longer in his pocket. He searched for the bed and was alarmed when he couldn't see the vial on the bed. He started searching for the vial again and again when, suddenly, he heard a sound when he took a step back.
There, he saw the small bottle and was relieved that there wasn't anything bad happening to it or that it had been cracked. He couldn't believe that he had fallen asleep, but it was reasonable because of his tracks inside the building and he had not had a quiet a sleep. And, indeed, he had a sleep, but it was also a nightmare. His heart was still pounding and he felt like he was pale and couldn't move so much that anytime he would faint.
He put the vial in his belt bag and decided to examine it later because of his condition right now. He feels like the building was eating all of his energy, which makes him weaker and weaker.
As soon as the bottle was secured inside his belt-bag, he opened the water bottle and water so it could help reduce what he was feeling right now, but it may seem that it just got worse because he had the feeling of vomiting. His head was again throbbing in pain that seemed to be connected with his eyes.
And without a second he threw up and all of what he had eaten earlier showed up and it tasted bitter and painful in his stomach. He was gagging and gagging, but nothing more came out but bitter saliva.
His vision was becoming dizzy and he couldn't help but to hold on to the wall to prevent him from on his face on the rough floor when suddenly he heard footsteps coming or maybe he was again hallucinating thihngs.
