Chapter 91

FLIES were buzzing out here and there as Gunner and Slasher took their way to where Slasher pointed the way. Gunner was having a crunchy nose as he smells foul odor in the air. There was something wrong but they should stick to the plan and just hope for the best. What they do not know those flies came from the outside who landed their little feet into flesh of every bodies who got died into an explosion.

'What was that?" Slasher said and he was after all could smell it and of course why couldn't he.

'I don't know either but one thing is for sure that speaks danger and horror," he said and he heard Slasher sighed.

'We are near," he said as they again took a left route and from seeing where they are now he could estimate that their way was far away from down there and he estimates that he could run to where he is for maybe at least would take him at least ten to fifteen minutes.

Could he make it on time or will he have an enough time to make it to him if ever he search the way out.

'I know this is far enough but for now this is all I remember but when I get too rest again I will try to remember the other hideouts that are near to where your destination is," he said Gunner took a deep breath as he ties up again the knot.

'It's okay I could make it on time don't make it hard for yourself okay?" he said and Slasher embrace him by hugging his neck just as not as tight and smiled. 'I am blessed to have you as my twin brother, Gunner, but please promise me on thing," he added and Gunner had this feeling that there is nothing good that will come out to his mouth.

'Save it Slash, I don't want to distract myself from that word promise okay? I will come back . . . I will come back for you because I always will and will always will be," he stated and Slasher sighs.

'Stop, it's here," he said and Gunner stops from his tracks and roamed around his eyes because he couldn't see anything but brick walls. There was nothing into it.

'Trust me . . . push that side of the wall," he said and Gunner obeys him out of the blue and he was even more surprised when the side wall that he had pushed suddenly move but it makes no noise at all.

There he sees a small cabin of hideout that only a person could hide. Gunner slowly gets down Slasher.

'Go, I can manage here already," he said and Gunner looked at him like he doesn't want to leave him like that and he was having a second thought if they were even making the right decision at all.

'I think I c-can't leave you here," he said stuttering and was about to grab his arm when Slasher shook his head and stops him.

Slasher sighs and says, 'Gunner, no second thoughts in here now we have gone so far. Go! Time is ticking!" he said pushing him out of the hideout and was about to close the wall when Gunner quickly grab and embrace him so tight which makes Gunner sobs in his shoulders and Slasher couldn't help but to embrace him back. He held back his tears that was already at the edge of his eyes he shouldn't be shedding tears right now because it might give him a hard time and might be telling him the truth in no time and he doesn't want that to happen.

He lied, he does knew all of the hideouts inside of the building and he just chooses the farthest hideout for a purpose that in case something happens Gunner won't make it come back again and he will just stay there for good. He doesn't want to cause any harm to Gunner, his little twin brother. He loves him so much that he doesn't want to be a burden and besides there is no cure at all of his situation and if there is it will be Dr. Vega who could only made an antidote. His case is different from all and Vega hasn't made any serum for it from what he knows and he was the only one who had taken that kind of serum.

Gunner looks at him as they pulled away from the embrace. 'Okay, please be safe in here and I promise I will come back," he said and Slasher smiled as he nodded his head as the wall slowly closes.

A minutes passed and Slasher took a deep breath and cried. He couldn't take it any longer anymore it was hurting him to see his brother having all the hope in his heart that he can save him. Yes, he does wanted to be saved too but it was too late and that is why he looks at the time so precious that every seconds into makes everything changes into something to it into another.

He places his hand to where his chest is and felt his heart beating slow like in every seconds it starts to fades. He couldn't take it any longer because he was already feeling weak. The cabin hideout was where the young men were buried.

Nonetheless no one knows that those hideouts were already known by Vega and he doesn't care about it because they will end up dead after all because he doesn't even have to worry when someone goes hide into what they have made. The monsters in the wall would eat them and that was already a free lunch. Meanwhile Slasher didn't know such a thing yet in that way of the wall but he was lucky for now because there was no monster in that wall he was hiding but he Slasher shouldn't be felt relieve because monsters who are always hungry well come to smell him.

Slasher closes his eyes and as he suddenly fell asleep.

'Slash, listen to me. Your father is not going back and he already made it clear to me… to us. I hope you understand that, Slash. Stop this nonsense of celebrating the father's day because he isn't coming home. He hates us," she said with full of anger in his heart and just keeping herself calm.

'Mom, why are you like that? We don't even know the reason why he had left us. Maybe you are the reason why he had left us huh, tell me the truth mom. Are you the one who shove him away? I hate you!" he shouted and he found himself touching his cheeks that was flaming in red. He was slapped by his mother.

A tear escape from his eyes and he keeps on crying and crying and later on found that his mother was also crying as he hides her face using her hands and her shoulders were shaking. Slasher back then didn't know what was going on but seeing her mother like that makes him hurt. It looks like she had shouldered heavy things that only she can know and never had shared it to anyone. She had just keep it on herself.

'I know it from the start. I know why your father had left us," she said in a teary voice without even looking at him.

'He just didn't know that I know so one day I go to whom the doctor who had checked on him. It was my longtime friend and I urge him to tell me the truth. And I promised to him that I would never tell anyone. He didn't know who was that person who had talked to him but it was his family who is at risk that is why he had faked your father's results. The fake result was telling him that he couldn't produce enough semen that would get me pregnant. But what the truth is he could produce and will get me pregnant after all because he is normal and nothing is wrong with him," she said and even though Slasher couldn't understand all of it he is well aware of what it is because he loves to read and he had read that kind of article from his science books.

Slasher was smart and that is their mother had told him all about it. She knows he will soon understands all of it just to make him feel what he had been doing and shouldn't keep defending their father.

'And then one I got pregnant and that is the two of you. He maybe feel like I cheated on him because as to what he knows was he couldn't get me pregnant. I was about to tell him that day but he keeps on ignoring me. The next day I was ready to tell him and I could even call the doctor if I needed to. I can do it, I can do all if that takes him to come back into our lives but his ears are closed. And the one night he left us already and never came back," she said as he wipes her tears away and Slasher was there standing feeling numb from what he have heard.

He couldn't help himself but to think if she were telling him the truth. Slasher has this ability that he could tell a person if he was telling the truth or not while Gunner had the ability of having a photographic memory and they are an avid fan of detective stories.

As Slasher looked at his mother he could tell she was somehow telling him the truth and wasn't lying about it. And if that was the truth then their father had left them just like that? He could help but to badmouthed his father of just letting them go just like that, just as easy like that like he didn't even care and had not love their mother after all. A true man will go back when he had clear his mind and had gone calm and would hear the person out but as what his father's situation is he didn't even look back and not even thinking that he had sons.

'You didn't bother contacting him again?" he couldn't help but to ask. He needed to let go what his heart is telling him to do so.

'If it was just me I won't bother calling him again and searching for him but as I look at you two it looks unfair for the both of you. Because you two are still young and needed a father that would help you in your way. Every children needs a father and I came from a broken family and I know how it felt and I don't want the two of you feel what I have felt back then. One day I got to his office but his secretary didn't let me in and even the guards escorted me to go out of his office with a heavy heart and even though I don't want to look desperate I just couldn't… I cried in front of his office while people are looking at me with no care at all but it didn't matter, Slash. I don't care about those people but what most hurt me is that your father was just there standing through his window looking at me with no emotions in his eyes and closes the curtain. It was just not one time Slash, I go there every day and that had been a routine to me. They shove me away," she said and there was pain in her eyes as she recalls what she had experienced that day and her hands formed into fist causing her knuckles turns to white.

Her lips pursed yet her eyes were gain watery wanting to fall.

'I will understand if you won't believe me my son. I understand if you will feel mad at me. I will accept all of that. I have lost a husband but I won't let that even the two of you will be lost too. I will keep the two of you as my gems which is why I am working so hard to give your needs and wants. To send the two of you in a good school so when the time is right I would leave you when I am ready," she said and Slasher didn't understand the last sentence she had said but he just smiled and embraced her with a tight hug and tell her how sorry he is. He cried and cried in her shoulders and that is when the time that Gunner showed up with full of chocolates in his mouth and smudges of it in his face.

'Later if I will be gone in this world I would want you to keep an eye on your brother because you are the oldest," she said and slasher was about to speak when her mother's index finger place in his lips telling her to shut his mouth. 'Yes, I know that you are twins but you are the first one who goes out even just for a minute you are still the oldest. I want you to take care of your brother and help him as much as you can and he will also do that to you. The two of you are partners till death. And looking at your brother he will obey whatever you will tell him, trust me," she added and smiled after the last sentence.

Slasher was teary at her statement which makes him feel like their mother was now saying her goodbye that he couldn't explain what. There was an unexplainable feeling that his young mind couldn't process. She held her mother's waist so tight and bury his face and the last thing that he could heard are the footsteps coming in their direction and he was sure that it was Gunner.

'What's going on here, mom? Slasher? Are you being shouted at mom because I ate this choclates? Mom, sorry please don't blame Slasher because I have eaten the last box of chocolates secretly. I promised not to do it again, mom," he said as he pulled the hedge of her dress and she couldn't help but to smile as he she look at their faces. She had to be strong in the meantime because her children had no longer a father to stand beside them. She had to be a wall for them to depend on. And in order for her to do that is to be strong enough and work hard and smart. And after she checked that everything goes on her plan and sees her children is already doing well then could bid her goodbye to them for she wants to rest with all of her heartaches.

Their mother was depressed back then because he loves the man so deeply that when he had left she felt her world had torn apart. Depression was difficult to fight with even though you keep on telling yourself to move on and your surroundings is telling you to keep on moving and forget the past but every second that you are all alone even just for a second all of those memories will just cam flashing and you realize it was you is the problem. The problem was she can't accept the fact that the man she loves had already let go of her and she was the only one who was still not letting go. She was still in the stage of denial. She was depressed yet she was strong to hold into the fact that he children still needs her. But even though that image is in her mind she already promised to herself that she will be soon gone and to rest after her mission is finish.

'Nothing is wrong, baby. But again if you want to eat chocolates be sure to tell me first okay? Because it is unfair to Slasher if you won't share it with him right? Am I right?" she asked and Gunner just nodded his little head and came embrace her.

He looked at his twin brother, Slasher who is still sniffing from his cries and looked worried wondering what had gone wrong if it wasn't the chocolate is the reason. He keep it into his mind that he will ask him what the reason of it was he was crying later in their room.

'Boys, I want you to remember that even if your father have left us I will never leave you until I can. I love the both of you so much okay? So please don't mention your father again in our house so we could move on into our lives," she said which made Gunner looked at her full of question in his eyes and he was about to ask when Slasher hold his arms and shakes his head slowly telling to him that he should save it for later or just keep silent.

Slasher wakes up from his deep sleep and had learned that he was already sweating in beads because of that dream. He was just standing in his sleep since he couldn't lie down and the air was suffocating him already and as to what he estimated he could only last long in there for only an hour or even but if it gets more then he should just be prepared of what is about to come to him.

Gunner took his run as quickly as possible because he knows Vega was just there lurking around and he had to be quick in finding the secret wall of hideout. What he remembers is that it is in the wall under where the captives are. He run and run and he was surprised to himself that he didn't even felt the tiredness of his body and it was like he was even feeling more of having resistance in his body. It was like someone was possessing his body to keep on moving and he thought it was Ross who was guiding him so he smiled and think of a positive thought to have with him and there will be no distractions at all.

'I'm almost there," he uttered and run even faster of his pace.

As he run he couldn't help but to notice the stench of blood trailing into his nose. It was like a lot of bodies had died to cause that kind of odor. As long as he wanted to know what cause that stench he just couldn't because of the walls. He somehow believes that the stench of blood comes from the outside which made him question himself where does the stench goes because the building had this enormous walls yet it could penetrate inside. And if that was the case then he just prays that Vega was distracted outside so he could be free in moving but he shouldn't be letting his guard down.

Gunner was already having a strong feeling back there that Slasher was about to tell him something and he knows what it is. His twin brother couldn't lie to him because those eyes tells different. He could read him clear as a glass. From what he have told him is that he knows every secret hideout in the building yet he chooses the furthest and telling him that he suddenly forgot where the other hideouts are. He was telling this lies but he just got to ride into it and he will do his might to come back for him and from the first place it he was the reason why he was here and he was going to save him by hook or by crook.

He was mad at him because he feels like Slasher doesn't want to cooperate with him and wanted to yell at him about the email because if that is the case then he shouldn't have sent him an email telling him to get into the building and solve the case. He should have let him mourn into his belief death of him until he had moved on.

'What are you hiding?" he uttered under his breath and then it hit him of a sudden conclusion which he hopes not.

'Did Vega injected you with something?" he asked to himself as he took a right route where he could get into the secret tunnel that Ross had made. 'If he did then I should find an antidote he should have told me," he whispered as he gritted his teeth in annoyance and when he already reached his destination he crawled to where the tunnel is and crawled as far as he could.
