Chapter 96

Gunner couldn't help but to feel disheartened upon hearing what Slasher had confessed to him. He sounded like there is no hope anymore upon saving him in that kind of condition but he won't surrender himself if he had proven enough to himself that there is no cure already. He wanted to witness it to himself . . . to see it by his own eyes and to whole heartedly accept it and that is only when he would surrender. But by doing it just in verbal he won't accept it and by looking at his brother which looks like he had already accepted his fate he wanted to slap and wake him up to reality. He had not come to where he is now just for nothing. Just like what his true mission is and that is he would do everything in his might just to save his twin brother.

He took a deep breath and grab Slasher's shoulder and face him. 'You are still breathing meaning there is still hope," he said and Slasher's eyes widened and stares at him unbelievingly and a tear was starting to form into his eyes that is wanting to escape and as his tears feel down Gunner immediately wipe it away using the his thumb.

Somehow Gunner felt that he was having a farewell to his twin brother but it was himself that he wanted to punch himself out of the corner because of those thoughts. He shook his head and smiled at Slasher but it didn't quite reach his eyes.

'We will find an antidote for that, okay?" he said cheering him up and Slasher smiled and pulled him for an embrace. It was a tight hug which Gunner placed his chin in his shoulder and started sobbing he just couldn't help it because it was his brother's life they are talking.

As they pulled out in their embrace Gunner brush Slasher's hair using his fingers as tears were still streaming down to his face and instantly wipes it away using the back of his hands.

Gunner had already find the secret passage way out but as to what he had witnessed earlier there even though he haven't seen it with his own eyes he knew it was danger. So as long as the way out has that kind of situation or whatever it is he believes that Dr. Vega is out there and if he was out there then his office was totally empty. And that had taken him aback when he remembered what he had just dreamt about with Ross. Gunner just remembered that Ross told him that he shouldn't be fooled by what he was about to be seen outside. He doesn't know what he was talking about but hearing those pleas and cries down there he knew it a horror thing and that rained him questions of where the hell they would take their escape now if those keep on running. He didn't know what the answers through his questions is.

But one thing that he should be focusing right now and that is to find the antidote for his twin brother in order for him to live long and maybe it will be the answer of how he would get back to his normal shape. He was disgusted to Dr. Vega and he promised to himself that if one day he would landed his hands on him he won't let him get away without a scratch and to kill him slowly. He doesn't care if he will root to hell but he won't let that devil rule the world and doom to the people living in this universe. He won't let it be experienced what they have experienced here to the other people at the outside. It was already enough and had to be put into an end. Sometimes he questions the gods up there if he was also witnessing what was happening down to where they are. If they also cares about them but he feels like even the gods have abandoned them but why are they still alive? Why is that every time he was about to lose hope there is a ray of hope that was shining through him? Is that a mock after all for him? Or he should take that as a good sign in the end? Whatever it is he will just keep on moving forward until they are escape to this kind of hell.

'What are your plans now?" Slasher, asked which makes him get back to his consciousness out of his thoughts.

Gunner looked at him with determination in his eyes and says, 'Everything will be alright now. I have found the secret passage to the way out yet there is still danger out there and maybe we need a little time when that danger is gone but for now I will find the antidote for you. I believe that Dr. Vega is out there meaning his office is empty and I can search for your antidote while you should be hiding down there while I am out okay? Is that okay for you?" he asked as he looked at Slasher and worried was evident in his eyes which makes Gunner tap his shoulder gesturing him that everything would be alright and he can manage himself out there.

Slasher couldn't believe what he was witnessing and what he was hearing from his mouth. He should be ashamed of himself from the very beginning because he was the one who have given up hope but here now in front of him his brother was still determined for them to escape and to find an antidote for his ill. That in face he was the oldest yet he looks like an amateur . . . he was proud of his little brother . . . he was proud of his twin.

Gunner placed his hand to lift his chin up and smiled. 'I should kept going now because time is ticking," he said and Slasher just nodded his head because he knew he couldn't make him stop from what he had planned right now.

He then remembered if those people came from the United States to rescue them and those were the noise that he have heard. No one would ever escape this building if you already had put your feet in here but he believes that if there is no one then he would make it exist by him and his brother escaping.

But before Gunner would take his leave he feed his twin brother first and him to gain some enough energy and since they are two bottles of water are left they decided to take a half of it to drink to save some more water. Gunner handed him a stone bread and a bar of chocolate too gain back his blood sugar and together they eat their food. And after that Gunner help Slasher took his hide into their secret spot and secured that he could still breathe down there. As he finally secured that Slasher was okay and everything if fine he took that as a sign to leave but before he took his way out just like what he was used to do he places his ear at the door to hear is someone is out there or everything was clear. He shouldn't be letting his guard down.

As Gunner was out already of the room he didn't waste any second and run as fast a she could as his feet looks like already memorize that way to Dr. Vega's office. He would also take that as a chance to look for anything that would help the both of their escape and as well as he would still steal food for them.

He took a left route and was already catching his breath which was a little weird for him but he was still keeping up. Gunner felt that he was already near where his office is and he even take a fast pace of his run.

He could already see his office right now and he slow his pace of running wanting to make sure that no one was there and there is no noise coming from the inside. Once he made sure that no one was there he slowly grip the doorknob and twisted it and enters himself inside. He was right there was no one there . . . the room was totally empty.

He didn't waste any time and firstly grab food that he could see with his own eyes and put it together inside of his jacket which he had tucked it in his pants that would make it look like a bag. After he had get what he wanted especially the water he start searching for things that they could use for their escape. What he found was rope and he immediately sling it to his shoulders, a blanket, flashlight, acid, lighter, a half-gallon of he believes gas, steel rod that maybe a meter length he doesn't know why he had keep it to himself but all he feels was he maybe needs it in the future. After that he gamble to the cabinets to find an antidote and upon seeing that everything that in a small bottle had no label into it so how on earth would he know what he needs? He should be just relying into his instinct of to get this or that but his guts were telling him that the serums in front of him are not the one whom he is looking for.

He took a deep breath and closes his eyes before opening it he needed to focus on his things and still should not let his guard down because there might anytime soon enters the room and there is now way out except through that cabinet . . . that goes down there. That would be his emergency exit if anything goes wrong. He looks in every cabinet that was in there and he rely in his instincts that no vial of serum was fit of what he was looking for. He need to search for more.

He look again and again through the cabinets and he was about to lose hope because he was in there for how many minutes from now and he finally decided to leave the room when his peripheral vision makes him stops from his tracks. He slowly turn his head to the right corner and his heart was beating so fast and his instincts were strong and telling him to go there. The fact that there was nothing gin there nothing but a wall yet from his eyes he could see something. Something like he saw from down there similar to what he had push from knowing the secret passage way out. The only difference into it was it isn't bulging out yet he could see lines of like a square type it was a thin line that couldn't be seen by the eyes and anyone who enter the room wouldn't even notice it but unlike him . . . he notices it. His instincts were telling him to go near and as he was slowly nearing into it his heartbeat was going even faster . . . it was his instincts. Maybe this is now the answer that he is now looking for. But the question is if it is in there then why does it have to be hidden like that? Like it was like a sacred or something.

He pushed the small square grave like in the wall and it slowly moves. He roamed his eyes through the room to see if there is any CCTV's and there was none . . . not even one. And when it opened it looks like a small cabinet too and he was surprised to see a lot of serums right in front of him. The upper deck of the cabinet contains yellow serums yet it was labeled with samples unlike the other serums that he has seen there were no labels into it while the lower deck of the cabinet also contains small bottles of serum yet the color was purple and it was labeled as antidote. His hands were shaking because his guts were telling him that it is the one. The one that he is looking for . . . at last he had found it.

With his shaky hands he grab of at least three antidote of serums carefully not to break the others because of his nervousness. Before he leaves the room he makes sure that everything was normal as to what he sees from before entering the room. After he was sure that the cabinets were all close and the other one which he had got the purple serum. He takes a one last look before going through the door but first he had to place his ear in the door to hear if the coast was clear but he got froze when he heard someone's murmuring. He didn't know what to do so he took a step back and walk quickly through his plan exit way out.

He enters himself there and before the door opens he closes the small door of the cabinet and took his way to slide. It was like he was already used to it and just slide like a normal being. After he had landed there he quickly pull himself out and run through the dark corner where he could hid himself if ever there is someone in the room. Gunner believes that the person he heard murmuring out there was Dr. Vega and whoever his company is he doesn't know but knowing that his father was already dead he somehow think of who was his company right now. But nevertheless it was less important to his situation right now he needed to get out of there impromptu because Slasher up there was still waiting for his comeback. He crawled to passage of Ross had make and it was a great escape and Ross had a big help of him. He won't let the fact that Ross was already dead he somewhat thinks that he was just out there looking for them it was unfair for Ross of him not letting and accepting the truth that he was now gone but he believes that someday if his mind was clear enough to think maybe there will be a time that he would finally accept everything. But apparently if he was dead how come he never sees his body out there?

Gunner stops from crawling for a second when his mind was occupied with something horrible scene that his imagination was making him go insane. He continues crawling back yet still continues to rain himself questions of where Ross body is. What was running through his mind is whether his body was out there where the danger is and maybe one of those pleas and cries were his . . . he couldn't help but to think of it that way. What was beyond there? What was waiting for them out there? Is there another way out?

As soon as Gunner crawled and landed his feet out he roamed is eyes to his surroundings to see if it was all clear and it is. He started running and also careful not to drop what was inside of his jacket.

He took a right route and just keep on running and running. He couldn't afford to get caught.
