Chapter 49

'Ross," Gunner repeated what he had said. It was sort of familiar to him and he think he had heard it before.

'Maybe you have heard my name before because according to my mother my name was inspired by their youngest brother that died in a car accident. I don't know if it is true but if you have heard it from your dad then so it is," he said which Gunner slowly nodded his head making it sense after all because he indeed heard it before.

It was just unlucky because he had only few things to remember when it comes to the background of his father. He and Slasher didn't have so much time bonding together with their father. It was only them and their mother who is also somehow didn't give them much time unlike the other mothers. Their mom were always busy in works because she always tell them that much keep herself occupied so she can't remember the presence of their father but nevertheless she didn't failed to be their mother because she always gives them their needs and especially their wants. They were sent to private school and have them tutored everything that a mom could wish for but he and Slasher only have one wish that their mother couldn't give them and that is time and love.

Of course their mother loves them but they couldn't even feel it after their father left them. Yet he and Slasher didn't hate her.

'Yes, kind of heard it from my mother. I don't really know a thing from my father," he said which makes Ibiza that is now Ross slowly nodded his head.

'I guess we are the same when it comes to our childhood from our dad's," he sighed. 'So as I was asking what are your plans now?" he added which makes Gunner scratches his head and sighed.

Gunner stands from his normal posture and sighed he didn't know how many times he keeps on sighting this time. 'Gets out of here, get into Dr. Vega's office and just make sure that he isn't there and do you remember that tunnel that I slide into where my brother is? I'll slid in there and get my brother out and if there is much time I could also save the other's. I want to sabotage the generator because I think it would die down the whole machines out there and that is when I can get Slasher out," he said which makes Ross nodded unsatisfyingly agreed in Gunner's plans.

'Your plans sucked," Ross commented and snorted.

Gunner squinted his eyes as he looked at Ross, 'If it is sucked then could you just please help me? Or if you don't have any plans in helping me then I would proceed on my plans now," he said as his eyes landed in the blur serum that Ross is now gripping in his big hands.

'I guess you should drink that already," Gunner said which makes Ross looked at to where Gunner is looking to. 'This blue serum is sacred that Dr. Vega prohibits me to drink it. I remember this serum just now and if you haven't show me this one maybe I have totally forget it."

'What makes it sacred?" Gunner asked grossed to the word sacred.

'This serum would make you go back into what you are. If you have been injected or anything that Dr. Vega build you into you can drink this serum and make you slowly get back to who you are. But maybe it would take of at least fiver serums until or until you are already in yourself."

Gunner then realizes and remembers the priest who had taken of at least two bottles of it. Maybe he did wanted to get his life back to normal. He was somehow felt sympathy to that person because he have regretted so many things in his life yet he doesn't want to get his life to put to death.

'Well that is great isn't it? Well go on drink it!" Gunner exclaimed as he heard such a good news yet Ross didn't seems happy as he was.

'What for? I have no families outside anymore. I have been here for years and years that I lost count and maybe if I drink this serum I would get back to who I am and my age will be maybe in late fifties or what. I am old," he said which makes Gunner left in awe as he didn't know such a thing.

'Well it is still a great news for you not to die and besides now that we totally know each other I guess you have me and Slasher in the outside world," he said as he looked at Ross.

'Together with you at the outside?" he asked which Gunner nodded and smiled. Ross couldn't help but to be teary at to what he have heard coming out from Gunner's mouth that after all that he have done to the brother's and what he had did before them he had still a light of hope in living. Ross believes that he doesn't deserve what Gunner is telling him but deep in his heart he also wanted it. He wanted it so much for he is after all longing for someone to accept him.

'It would maybe take you more serums to get you back to normal but if you drink that it would maybe give you life expectancy right? So go on drink it and I will get you some again until you get totally back into your normal state," Gunner said and Ross nodded in excitement and drank the blue serum without a second thought again.

After he had drank it all he look at his hand which the hair are slowly shortening. That was quick as he have thought.

'That was quick," Gunner stated as he too noticed the hair in his arms.

'So what are we going to do now?" Gunner added which makes Ross stands from his seat and give Gunner a positive attitude.

'Dr. Vega didn't yet get back so we are free to get inside of his office since the key to the elevator on where we always go is with him and there is no duplicate into it. So might be as well be using it for the first time but I have seen that tunnel before just never tried it. So we go there and maybe I should take a lot of the serum and get into the tunnel where your brother is," he said which somehow makes Gunner smiled at what Ross stated because in the end Ross still wanted to have a life outside he just wants to have a family and if it means having them then Gunner is willing for Ross to be part of his life after all they are cousins.

'I don't know much of the machines down there because he only shows it to his apprentice, Dr. Brace which is your dad. But somehow I know little things that might help you. And if our target is the generator then I'll help you with that with this body of mine I can easily damage or break it," he said which makes Gunner lit up with hope.

In a matter of fact he now believes on what he had said and somehow trusted him and he wasn't basing of his physical appearance but because of what is inside of him.

And with that they didn't waste any time and get out of the room quickly. Gunner then in the end have an ally to have to and even though they are in the pit of death a hope and chance are still lingering inside of them. In that small time Gunner felt safety and full of hope that everything will go under his plans and finally they are going to survive in the horror.

They run in a fast pace and Gunner couldn't even feel his feet stomping the floor. Gunner looked at Ross and he can see determination in his aura and into his eyes.

'We're near," Ross said as they took a left route and he just nodded.

I just a couple of minutes they are already at the front of Dr. Vega's office. Ross gripped the door knob which Gunner immediately noticed that his long nails are starting to get short somehow.

Ross freely opens the door and there was no one there. It had been a long time yet Dr. Vega still didn't get back and it is not that Gunner misses him or something he was just curious why but now that he learned that his father is his apprentice it makes him want for them to come back in no time. He just wanted to see what his father looks like and how did he ended up being an apprentice of an evil person.

As soon as the two of them enters the room Gunner immediately told Ross where he gets the blue serum and Ross quickly responded to where is and get as many as he could and put it in his pocket beside they are just a small bottle and it can fit in his pocket.

Gunner then open the secret cabinet on where the tunnel is and looked at Ross who is already at his back waiting.

'Let's go," he said and turn his way down.

As soon as Gunner slam his feet to the cold tiled floor he immediately gets out the way because he doesn't want to get smashed by Ross and in just a matter of seconds Ross pop out.

The atmosphere down was cold as it always had been that Gunner won't get used to it not in a million years.

'Okay I'll go to the generator and you go get your brother out," Ross said as he run to his way without waiting for Gunner's response.

When Gunner couldn't see Ross anymore he also run to where his brother is and he can still remember where the way is.

His heart beat was racing as if someone will caught them in no time but he must stay calm in order to get things done according to his plans.

He took a deep breath as he run in left wing and there he could almost see his brother. As he was running he couldn't help but to look at those glasses and how on earth would get his brother out there but he trusted Ross.

'Slasher," he said as he finally was in front of the glass globe of his brother.

In a matter of seconds he heard something loud coming from the left wing that he believes where the generator is. He guesses Ross is breaking or getting it to damage.

The lights were blinking and so are the glass globes which makes Gunner looks at Slasher and then his brother was like losing san oxygen because his chest were going up and down and that is when it hit him.

'Ross!" he shouted out the top of his lungs and run to where the generator is that he almost slipped from running.

He was catching his breath as he hear another loud of bang again until he slowly feel that he was already near where Ross is.

'Stop!" he shouted again that he can almost see where Ross is banging the generator.

Ross quickly turns around when he heard Gunner shouting with question in his eyes.

'Gunner?"

'Stop, breaking the generator it is not the answer. We are killing them," Gunner said as he turn his head to the young boys in the glass globe and so what Ross did. They are all like in a short breath.

Ross then stopped at what he was doing and realized that he had almost killed everyone. 'Sorry, I didn't know," he said and Gunner just nodded totally understand and believes that he have no ideas of what really is going on.

'What about now?" Ross asked which makes Gunner shrug his shoulder and walked slowly to where his brother is.

He looked at Slasher who is now in a stable of breathing and now he didn't know what to do anymore.

'I think we should go up," Ross suggested which makes Gunner looked up but all he see it pitch black and nothing more.

'There is nothing up there," he said as he looked at Ross who is also looking up.

'That's what you think, Gunner. There is always up there maybe you forget that I live here," he said which makes Gunner smiled and they both nodded.

Gunner was curious because there are no stairs or anything that would lead them to the top and he was about to ask Ross when suddenly he spoke up.

'Curious on how do we get to the top? There are no stairs or such a thing because Dr. Vega doesn't want anyone to go up there and I believe it is there where he manages the subjects," he stated as he sticks his hands to the wall and then Gunner remembered that he can after all climb to the wall from the very first time that they meet.

Ross raised his eyebrow gesturing him to get into his back and that is what Gunner did. Even though it was kind of gross because of his slimy back but does he have any choice?

'Gross right?" Ross asked as they climb to the wall and Gunner couldn't help but to be amazed of Ross climbing to the wall and how far they are now.

'I don't care about that right now. But I am quietly amazed of your talent to climb to the wall makes me see you as spiderman," he chuckled and Ross couldn't help but to laugh at the same time.

Gunner looked to down and couldn't help but to see in horror of how much young boys have been kidnapped in that room maybe thousands of them and the building was impressively enormous to have such captives of people inside.

'We are almost there," Ross said as they completely swallowed by the darkness and Gunner was expecting that it was dark and he couldn't see anything but he was mistaken because he can clearly see what was in there which was weird and he couldn't help but to form an o to his mouth. There was a floating office up there and a lot of computers which he believes that is indeed where Dr. Vega is managing his subjects.

'How does that office is floating in the air?" Gunner couldn't help but to ask.

'Anything is possible for Dr. Vega, Gunner, Don't forget that," Ross replied which was completely makes sense to him. Dr. Vega is a gifted person living in earth yet he uses it in bad terms. Impossible things is possible for Dr. Vega indeed.

'Jump," Ross stated and there were at least one meter away from the floating office and the floor was made of glass and Gunner wanted to punch Ross for making it hard for him to jump of at least a meter especially they are way so high. What if he fell down? Beads of sweats were starting to form into his forehead and his heart is racing wildly as he looked down. If ever he fell down surely he will be dead on the spot.

'You can do it just don't look down," Ross said and Gunner looked at him trusting all of his words. He have gone this far and only by jumping won't let his plan burn in ash.

Gunner didn't close his eyes and prepares himself to jump and it was like the time stop and it was a slow motion as he prepared to land at the glass floor. The floor was slippery but he managed to stand from it after landing and smiled.

'I made it," he whispered into himself surprised that he made it and as he looked at the floor he felt a little but dizzy because it was crystal clear and he can see what is down there which looks like he was about to fall.

'Out of the way, Gunner," Ross said which makes Gunner snap out of his mind and quickly walked in the safe area and that is where the virtual computer screens are.

And in no time Ross made a jump not even feeling dizzy or what just like Gunner. Ross was something else, he is not scared of anything unlike him which made Gunner envious by it.

Ross took a deep breath as if tried of what he had done. 'I guess the serum is perfect now which made me feel like I am being me again. The real me was weak and easy to get tired but thankfully I drink just only one serum. I'll drink again when it is time to do it," he said which makes Gunner notice again that his hair in his chest had gone shortened again. But he was still as pale as a white paper.



'I guess we have to be real quick in analyzing all of this," Gunner said which Ross looked behind his back and there welcomed them a virtual screen with a lot of data's running that they couldn't understand.

'Analyzing this data's are much way too hard to understand especially I don't encounter one of this so I might not be a help, Gunner," Ross said with a low tone of voice as he roamed his eyes in the data's like he was helpless at all. Gunner pat his shoulder and smiled at him.

'You are a big help Ross and this time I have to handle this and if you notice something kindly tell it to me, let's go, Ross," he said which makes Ross smiled as to what had Gunner told him.

It was sad for the least that he had meet his cousin in this kind of situation.
