Chapter 33

US EMBASSY

The Ambassador's room was crammed with special agents and soldiers. What had happened to Arizona had alarmed them all. Arizona is close to the US border, and they are perplexed and shocked by what they have witnessed. They are aware that it is dangerous, and those things should not be underestimated. For the time being, they have no idea what those things are, but they appear to be ghosts of soldiers who cannot be killed.

The room was filled with gossip and murmurs that you couldn't understand until the door of the office opened and all of the people inside went quiet and all of their eyes were fixed on the man who silenced them all. The only sound that can be heard is the clacking of the owner's heels.

They all salute him. The Ambassador slowly rises from his seat and salutes in respect.

In each of the four corners of the room, a moment of silence had won.

"What happened?" a rumbling voice breaks the silence, just as the ambassador lowers his arm.

The Ambassador responded by looking him in the eyes. "For the time being, Mr. President, all we know is that this enemy of ours is fatal and is now heading for us."

The President slowly closes and opens his eyes. He proceeds to the glass window, through which he can see the green grass and trees. He sighed deeply and believes he knows where those strange things came from. He wasn't certain, but he had been to that facility before, though it had been a long time and it was not in Japan. He is aware that something is going on, but he is blissfully ignorant that the first place they will regale the battle is in their embassy, which can only mean a war.

The President lit his cigar and puffed smoke into the air. He was stressed and unsure what to do. He had literally hundreds of soldiers. He had advanced weapons to use, but who is he cracking up at? All of his soldiers will be killed because they will be fighting soldiers who cannot be gunned down, and all of their arms and ammunition will be rendered useless.

"How many?" The President inquired as he wheezed smoke from his cig.

The Ambassador approached the President and answered him with a heavy heart. "Twenty people were killed, at least fifteen were injured, and are now in the hospital and recovering, and from my calculations, this thing just showed up out of nowhere, and maybe they just chose that location for a trial."

The President nodded slowly in agreement with what he had concluded. Ambassador Henry is the most intelligent man he has ever met, and he is well aware that even he is terrified of what is to come. If that thing appears again, they will be unable to protect all of the innocent people living in their country, and they must act now before it is too late.

The President looked around the office and recognized everyone. These individuals are all highly recommended by the states and are extremely efficient in battle and planning. But he would not put them all at risk.

"Listen," he said, and everyone turned to face the President. "We all know and witnessed what happened. We will plan what we will do, but first we must evacuate all of your families and all of the people in this state to a safer place. We cannot take the chance of all of those innocent people and even our loved ones, and then we will plan our fight. What is important here now is our safety," he said, and everyone inside was surprised and impressed by what the President had just declared.

And they couldn't help but be terrified because they knew they all had armor and high-class equipment to use on the battlefield, but they also knew who they were fighting.

"We are not cowards!" exclaims a soldier, rising from his seat. His brow was furrowed in rage, and his hands had formed a fist.

"Sometimes being brave isn't the best answer; it's all about survival, my son."

The soldier returns to his seat, realizing what he has said.

"I have no idea what those things are; all I know is that they are catastrophic, but as far as I recall, I visited this type of facility a long time ago."

Ten years ago. . .

It was summer, and the ground was hot to walk, but Baron didn't mind. He was young and eager to see Dr. Gambit's facility. He'd heard so much about him and all of his strange experiments, but no one seemed to notice except him. He admired his intelligence and was confident that one day all of his studies would be a big success and well-known.

His uncle is acquainted with him and is a friend of Dr. Gambit, which was unexpectedly cool to him to learn.

"Baron, this is Dr. Gambit; he is a genius who will be known in the future, and you should be honored to meet him," his uncle said, his face plastered with a smile as he reached out to shake Dr. Gambit's hand.

"It is a great honor to be here in your facility, Dr. Gambit," he said, shaking the doctor's hand.

"Come and feel free to roam around, young boy," Dr. Gambit said, and Baron didn't waste any time in letting himself inside and wandering his eyes around the facility.

Baron came to a halt when he noticed a large cylinder glass and, if he is not mistaken, the body of a man in his thirties. He turned pale as he looked again. He took a step back and couldn't feel his feet, as if they were glued to the floor. Then he pressed his back against something hard and warm, and before he knew it, a cold voice sent shivers down his spine.

It was Dr. Gambit.

"So you have seen my miraculous experiment, huh young boy?"

"Dr. Gambit."
