Chapter 101

'Doctor, am I okay?" Christabel asked the doctor following what he just said to her. The doctor smiled and turned to look at Christabel and Mira.
'Yes you are fine." The doctor replied Christabel with a smile on his face. Christabel was a little relieved after hearing this but she was still not feeling comfortable because of the way the doctor sounded.
'Please can you say whatever you want to say here?" Christabel asked the doctor and held Mira's hand. He doctor smiled when he heard what Christabel said to him.
'Yes, I can." The doctor said to Christabel with a smile on his face. Christabel felt relieved because at least can tell what the doctor is about to say to her is not something serious.
'So鈥�" Christabel paused talking trying to remind the doctor to say what he wants to say. The doctor cleared his throat.
'It's not something serious, I just want you to know that your heart is a little too fragile at this point so reduce the way you think of stress yourself." The doctor announced to Christabel and walked away.
When Christabel heard what the doctor said she rolled her eyes and struggled not to let the tears fall. Mira turned to look at Christabel because she know that Christabel will be reminded of what happened between herself and Alpha James.
'Are you okay?" Mira asked Christabel. Christabel immediately forced a smiled and turned to look at Mira.
Mira knew Christabel was trying not to let it show that she was a little affected by what the doctor said.
'Let's go home." Christabel said to Mira with a smile on her face. Mira nodded her head and stood up from where she was sitting, she packed their stuffs and they both walked out of the ward.
A cab was waiting for them outside the hospital. Christabel sighted the cab and they both walked inside.
While they were in the cab heading home, Christabel was thinking of a way forward with her life. She already promised herself not to be in any relationship again.
She turned to look at Mira and Mira smiled then she looked away, and watched cars pass by.
Few minutes later they got to the house. Christabel got out of the car and stared at the house before they finally entered.
'It feels good to be home." Christabel said and sat on the couch. Mira rushed into the kitchen to prepared something both of them can eat.
'Breakfast is ready." Mira came out with two plates and served it in the dining. Christabel stood up immediately and rushed to the dining.
While they were eating they talked about the new plan for Christabel company and she kept checking her phone incase of any mail from the contract she is expecting.
'Can you stop worrying yourself about the mail, do t worry your proposal will be accepted." Mira encouraged Christabel and Christabel smiled then dropped the phone on the table.
When they were done eating, Mira packed the dishes and took them to the kitchen.
'Yes!" Christabel shouted excitedly. Mira rushed out of the kitchen and saw Christabel jumping.
'What is it Christabel? Are you okay?" Mira asked Christabel when she saw Christabel jumping.
'The proposal has been accepted, I'm now millions richer." Christabel said to Mira excitedly. Mira was also excited.
The next day, Christabel went to her company and started work, she employed new staffs abs fired some lazy ones.
She moved into a bigger apartment where she abs Mira started living.
The news of her success got to Alpha James. He wondered how she is suddenly all over the news after their break up.
'I guess she never loved me, because how is she able to forget me so soon?" Alpha James asked his new chick who didn't seem interested in hearing anything about Alpha James ex. The lady hissed and walked to the bathroom.
'Hey! I have told you to behave responsibly." Aloha James yelled at her while she was walking away.
'For real it doesn't make sense." He confusedly went back to the issue of his ex that he was talking about earlier.
Christabel started going for interviews and meeting new and influential people, she got lots of contracts from different countries but there was no one as huge as making her a billionaire.
'Christabel, stop saying such nonsense!" Christabel grandmother yelled at her when she said she'll never get married.
'Grandma, we already settled this before." Christabel said to her grandma trying to convince her to stop.
'Christabel I'm not going to take that as an answer from you." Christabel grandmother said to her angrily.
Christabel felt there was no way she'll ever be in love with any man. Even the wolf in her is so heart broken that she don't want any mate for them again.
'Grandma please let's not start, you just got here." Christabel said to her grandmother and walked away.
'I told you this was not going to work." Christabel grandfather scolded her grandma the moment Christabel walked away.
'I told you I'll give it a try." Christabel grandmother protested against what her grandpa said.
'We'll then see, you failed." When Christabel grandmother heard this she realized her husband is not wrong but he said it in an unkind way. She stood up from the couch and hissed, then she carried her bag and headed to her room.
Christabel was in her room on a phone call with Mira because Mira was not around she went on a business trip for the company she works with.
'I really don't know why she cannot talk to me without talking about finding myself a mate." Christabel complained to Mira, Mira laughed when she said this, leaving Christabel to wonder what's funny.
'I think you actually need to, you are now famous and extremely rich don't you think this is the right time to find yourself a mate? I mean next month you'll be thirty-three." Mira sounded like she was actually in support of what Christabel grandparents are saying about her getting herself a mate.
Christabel hissed and hung up the call because Mira was beginning to sound like her grandmother.
Christabel flung the phone on the bed, then she sighted the invitation that was sent to her earlier during the day.
The invitation is from one of the richest companies in the country. Christabel stood up and opened the invitation box, and inside the box was a note and some gifts, the note in it was the invitation card.
Christabel was overwhelmed and excited about the invitation, she has always wanted to attend such parties, they are launching one of their new products and they want her to be there for the launch party.
'Oh my god! It's next tomorrow? Such short notice for a big event like this?" Christabel asked herself and stood up to search for a nice dress, while searching she slept off because she coul find any.
The next morning Christabel woke up and the sunlight was directly on her eye preventing her from opening her eyes clearly.
She stood up and checked the time, she realized she overslept. She looked around the room and noticed there was clothes everywhere, she put her hand on her forehead when she remembered she brought them out when she was looking for a nice dress to wear for the launch party and unfortunately she couldn't find any.
She stood up from the bed tiredly and walked to the toilet. When she was done with what she was going to the toilet she connected her phone to a Dessetooth in her room then she started playing her favorite song.
While the song was playing she was arranging her room, when she was done she disconnected the phone from the Dessetooth and rushed to the bathroom to take her bath.
She was done with her bath then she rushed to the closet to get dressed, after dressing up she brought out her laptop and ordered an expensive dress.
'Finally." Christabel said excitedly and dropped the laptop back on the table. She stood up and walked downstairs. When she got downstairs she sighted her grandmother.
'Okay, this might not end well." Christabel said to herself while walking to the dining.
'Good morning grandma, good morning grandpa." Christabel greeted both of them and made her way to her seat.
'I hope you slept well?" Christabel grandmother asked in a savage way. Christabel turned to look at her and faked a smile.
'Yes grandma." Christabel replied her almost immediately. There was sudden silence on the dining table. Christabel grandmother couldn't stop staring at her.
Christabel noticed her grandmother was staring but she pretended not to notice.
'Christabel are you really not going to get married?" Christabel grandmother asked after hesitating for a while.
'Not again." Christabel said to herself and hit the spoon on her plate. Her grandparents were shocked to see her reaction.
'I told you not to talk." Christabel grandfather told her grandmother almost in a whisper. Christabel grandmother gave her grandpa a sad stare and turned to look at Christabel.
'I'll be leaving first." Christabel said to them and stood up from the dining.
