Chapter 13
'Why does my Rodah have to suffer this much?"
Desse said to herself in a sad tone as tears welled down her eye.
One of Desse's maids, whom shDesse sobbing bitterly. She was not happy to see her in that state, she felt so bad for Desse because she was known to be kind and caring. She would always lighten their mood when they where down and now she was sad.
'Your majesty, what is the matter?" The maid said in a soft tone as she handed over the cup of water to Desse.
Desse, who was deep in thought and didn't realize anybody was by her side, was startled by the words of the maid.
'Ohhh my dear it's nothing I can't handle" Desse answered as she tried using her hand to clean the tear on her cheeks.
The maid knew she was not in a good mood and was not ready to tell her what the problem was so she asked her further questions.
'Ok Ma. If you say so, I will take my leave now" the maid said as she bowed and took her leave.
Desse was so confused and frustrated, she was always lost in thought. Thinking was now a big habit of her that she could not control.
'What is all this? When will all of this stop?" Desse said to herself as she wiped the tears that welled down her cheeks.
Riel was passing by and saw Desse in the corridor sobbing and felt so bad for her. He wanted to go and meet her but he didn't because he felt she was not in a good mood.

Day went by but nothing changed Rodah was not getting any better and they did not get any cure.
Desse was tired of staying at home so she decided to take a stroll.
'I will be taking a stroll, I will be back soon" Desse said to Riel before leaving the room.
Riel was about to take a short nap before he heard Desse. He sat up from the bed and cleared his throat.
'Hmm that's a good idea, it's good that you take a stroll and feel some cool air but make sure you go with your maids and some guards to protect you" Riel replied Desse and went back to bed to take his nap.
Desse left the room, she called some maids and guards and told them to follow her while she take a stroll as advised by Riel.
As Desse took a stroll from afar she saw a man humiliating a young woman on the road. He was hitting her not minding where the body part he hit. He was about to remove the young woman's already torn cloth when Desse saw it and could not ignore but react.
'Stop it" Desse shouted as she ran closer to where they were.
The man who was beating them tried escaping when he saw Desse and her guards approaching where he was. But it was too late because the guards were well built and also good at running, they were able to catch him. Desse instructed them to hold him and wait for further instructions from her.
The young lady's clothes were already torn and her body was exposed even when she tried to cover them. They were still showing because the clothes were already badly torn.
'Pls help me! Help us! Safe us from the hands of the wicked man please my Ma" the young lady said while bowing her head down.
Desse felt so much pity for the young lady.
'It's okay. Stand up, don't cry" Desse assured the young lady as she knelt down so she could raise the woman up.
She signaled her maid to remove the veil she used to cover herself so she could use it to cover the woman.
As Desse tried raising the young lady up she noticed there was a very small girl who hid behind her. She immediately paused to take a good look at the girl. The girl looked okay but just frightened she was not hurt but the man. Desse felt so much pity for the woman because she knothe woman took so much beating and endured so much pain and made sure the man didn't hit the girl.
'Who is she?" Desse said to the young lady while staring and pointing at the small girl.
The young lady collected the veil given to her by the maid as instructed by Desse and cover herself with it.
'She is my only child," the young lady replied to Desse's question as she went closer to where the girl was and hugged her.
Desse watched the woman hug her daughter so tightly and remembered her son Rodah. She remembered when Rodah would come to meet her and asked for a hug from her and she will willingly do it for him because she enjoyed giving him a hug especially when he was sad.
'Wow your daughter is such a cute and pretty girl" Desse said as she went closer to where the girl was.
The girl was still frightened by what happened earlier so she hugged her mummy tightly like she was never going to let go of her.
'What's your name pretty?" Desse asked the small girl as she placed her hand on her cheeks.
The girl was not going to answer until she saw Desse smiling at her and her mummy was also smiling. She then turned and said;
'My name is Christabel" The small girl said as she reciprocated the smile.
'Christabel! Such a beautiful nice for a beautiful girl" Desse said to the little girl while touching her jaw.
The small girl was so happy when Desse called her beautiful.
'So where do you live?" Desse asked the woman.
The woman's mood changed immediately and she began to tear up. Desse was so confused and surprised to see the woman cry because she only asked her a question and鈥�..
'What is wrong? Did I say anything bad? ' Desse asked the woman in a confused state.
'No Ma. It's just that we don't have anywhere to stay, we are homeless" she replied in tears.
'Okay I get it now" Desse said as she signed a relief sign.
'Let's go, I will take you to my house. Don't thank me yet and I will not ask about what happened earlier between you and this man until you get home and freshen up" Desse said to the woman.
They all went back to the palace.
