Chapter 36
'No! No!! No!! You can't take my Louis away from me, leave my Louis alone!" Desse shouted from her sleep.
Riel was going through some files in his study when he heard her voice and rushed down quickly to see what was happening to her.
'I said leave him! He is my only child, please don't take him away from me. Louis!!"
'Desse! Desse!" Wake up wake up it's a dream! Desse!" Riel shouted as he tapped her really hard so she could wake up.
Christabel's Mum and some maids were passing by their room as saw Riel trying to wake Desse up rushed in immediately so they could assist him.
'Leave my son for me! Please I promise he won't kill anyone again. Louis!!" She screamed out from her dream as she held the bedsheet she used in covering herself tightly.
'Desse! Wake up, nothing is wrong with our Louis, he is fine. It is just a dream"
Desse was soaked in sweat, she was breathing so hard and her voice was already cracking because of the way she was shouting.
'Ma'am wake up, it's just a dream. Please wake up" Christabel's mother said as she tapped her.
'Desse!!!" Riel shouted inside her ear.
'Ah ah!" Desse shouted as she woke up and gasped for breath.
They all stared at her in surprise.
'It's all a dream, it's all a dream." She said as she looked round and saw all of them looking at her.
'Where is Louis? Where is he?"
'Louis is fine, he is sleeping in his room now." Riel replied to her and gave her an assuring look.
'I am sorry for making you all worried, it's just that I had a very terrible dream. And in that dream they were taking my Louis away from me."
'It's okay now, that was only a dream okay. So calm down and relax." Riel said to her when he noticed that she was still in shock from the dream.
Her hands were shaking, she kept turning her neck in fear. Riel decided to place her head on his shoulder as he used his hand to tap her on her hair.
'Thanks for your help" Riel said to the maids as they were about to take their leave.
They signed to him and left their room.
'I will go get to the kitchen and get a bottle of water for her with little fruit to calm her tension." Christabel's Mum said to Riel and left the room immediately so she could get them as promised.
'What exactly happened to me? Why were they all staring at me like that?" Desse asked Riel, still relaxing her head on his shoulder.
'I really don't know what exactly you saw in your dream but you seriously got all of us worked up. I was in my study going through some files when I heard you scream from the room. I ran as fast as my leg foul Carr and when I got into the room I saw you shouting and sweating so loud from your dream. At first, I tried calling out your name so you could wake up, I even had to explain to you that it was a dream but you kept screaming. I think Christabel's Mum and the maid might have heard you screaming and decided to come in and help, they also help me to wake you up. It seemed like you were not ready to wake from your dream. So Christabel's Mum signaled me to shout your name in your ear and as soon as I did that you woke."
'Really, I really didn't know I did all of this, I had a very bad dream. I don't even want to talk about it."
'It's okay if you don't want to talk about it, I am fine with that as long as you and Louis are fine." Riel said as he signed in relief.
Soon after Christabel's mum came in with a cup of water and a plate of fruit salad.
'This will help ease your stress" she said as she handed over the tray to Riel.
'Thanks," Desse replied as she stood up with the help of Riel.
Desse went to the bathroom and washed her face, then came back to relax, drink the water and eat the fruit while Riel watched her closely.
'I think we need to call the late maid's Mum and know how she is faring and also ask her the reason why she hasn't talked about her daughter's burial yet."
'Yh I also think we need to do so, also that maid that you sent to give her the items is a bath from the market. Would you still want to ask her any questions?"
'No, I don't think that would be necessary any more. I will call her myself when I am done eating."
'Okay no problem then. I would just go and ask the girl for the woman's number." Riel said as he stood up to take his leave.
'Okay darling, thanks."
Riel gave her a kiss on her forehead and was about to leave when a guard walked in and informed them that they had a visitor.
'Good day Sir, you and your wife have some guest waiting for you downstairs." The guard as with his head bowed low.
'A guest?" Desse shouted as she jumped up from the bed.
'Yes Ma"
'Do you know the person before? Or maybe have you in any way seen the person in this mansion before?" Desse asked him, panicking.
Riel was surprised to see the way Desse was acting so he tapped her in her hand. That was a signal to tell her to stop questioning the guard and calm down.
'Yes Ma, I have only seen one of them here before."
'Who is the person? Is it a male or a female?" Desse asked again even after Riel told her to calm down.
'It is a female Ma, I think she is..."
'A female?"
'Yes Ma"
'Ehhh" Desse shouted and placed her hands on her head.
'Desse calm down, put yourself together" Riel said as he touched her shoulder.
'You can go we will be there shortly." Riel ordered the guard.
'Ehhh! I won't let them take my Louis away from me." Desse shouted, restlessly.
