Chapter 49
**In the sitting room**
'It's already four days to go before the arrival of Mr Paul and I am so happy because we have everything set." Desse as to Riel as they both grabbed a chair and sat down in the garden.
'Yh that's because we started the preparations very early." Riel answered while sitting down.
It was a very sunny afternoon in the mansion Desse and Riel decided to come and stay in the garden so they could receive cool breeze because inside the mansion was really stuffy.
'Yes, exactly. We actually started really early and I am enjoying it now because we can rest for today then continue with the cooking tomorrow." Desse replied to him.
'That a very good plan darling. Did you see how efficient our workers where? Like they were really active they all surprised me and they also worked happily without any complaints ."
'Infact I was really happy with the way they were all working. They really made the really faster than I imagined, one would think we ate paying them specifically for it you know."
'Exactly '
'I remember three days ago when I met one of the maids working, I noticed she was already tired but she didn't want to stop so i told her to stop and rest or maybe go to the kitchen and get something to eat but she refused. What amaze me the more was when she said all the workers in the mansion have been waiting for a day like this where they get to help us because we have been so helpful to them in one way or the other." Desse said to Riel as she kept on smiling due to overwhelming.
'Ohhh wow, that's so heart warming, so they have been waiting for us to do something like this so they would be of help to us." Riel was so surprised to hear that the workers thought highly of them.
'Yes and to think that we were only helping them not knowing what they had in mind for us."
'I remember why I Stephen to tell him about our plans of hiring an interior decorator to help us with the arrangements of the mansion for the arrival of the Mr Paul. He was like why would I even think of hiring an interior decorator for something that simple. He told me he was so sure the workers in the mansion would be able to take care of it and they would gladly do it . I actually doubted him but see they surprised us."
'I don't even know how to thank them and you know it was easier for them because they already knew their way on the mansion."
'Yh I think so to. But I actually have a mini surprise for all of them especially those of them that surprised us. The likes of Christabel, her mum and also Stephen. Who would have told me that Stephen was very goo with artwork."
'I was actually also surprised to see he was good in that and you never bothered to tell me about it or even help him make money with it." Desse said to Riel, surprisingly.
'Actually while we were growing up Stephen always loved drawing, he would always draw his daddy even without looking at his pictures. He said his drawing was from his head but at a point he stopped he would always cry at night and when I tell him to draw so he wouldn't think about him to much he would refuse. Mom and dad also admired his drawing that when he stopped they begged him to continue that they would help him go far with it but he refused. There was a point he even said his broke his hands and it would not be possible for him to draw again. Since then till now I have never seen his artwork besides he chose the work of a guard o one forced him to." Riel explained extensively to Desse.
'Really who picked a guard work over being a CEO of your artwork?" She replied to him, surprisingly.
Riel chuckled and replied her.
'Only Stephen of course."
'But that crazy did you ever bothered to ask him the reason for his decision?"
'Yes of course we did. And he said it was because of how we treated him after his dad died. He said after his father's death we accepted him into our family and he will never forget it. So he promised my father to always protect me even if it meant him risking his life for me."
'Awwwn that's so emotional."
'My dad tried talking him into being a lawyer so he could be my personal lawyer but he refused and used his dad as an example. And when he was eventually getting convinced my dad past away and boom he promised hus to forever remain by my side. Ever since then he has never talked about being a lawyer and even when we tried bringing the matter up he would always cover it up." Desse said to Riel.
'He must really like you indeed." Desse said as she signaled one of the maids she saw passing by.
The maid came forward and Desse asked her to bring a cup of juice for her while Riel asked for a bottle of red wine.
'You are red wine, don't you ever get tire of it?" Desse teased Riel after he asked the maid to get him red wine.
'Better leave me to my wine" He replied her.
'My throat is so dried I think it's because of the weather, I need something to calm it down" she said to him as she held her neck.
Few minutes later the maids came back with the drinks they ordered for. Desse couldn't even wait for the maid to finish pouring it she already took it and finished one bottle immediately.
'Calm down, what wrong with you?" He asked her, teasingly as she drank the cup of fruit juice.
The maid was done serving them so she took her leave and left Riel and Desse to carry on with their discussion.
