Chapter 34
'It's been four days now since we took the late maid's body to the mortuary and her mother has not come to see us or even asked us what the name of the mortuary was." Desse said to her husband Riel as they were leaving the dining room to the sitting room.
They just had their lunch and were going back to relax in the living room. Riel was so famished earlier and was acting like he was going to die but now that he was done eating he regained his strength.
'I was going to ask you the same question earlier. What happened to her, it has been five days already since she came here and we broke the news to her but she hasn't shown up after that." Riel asked her.
'I would have said something happened to her or something was wrong but since the day she left here I have been making sure that some food items are being delivered to her by her late daughter's best friend and I made sure she delivers it."
'Wow, I never knew you did all of that. I wasn't even aware of that, Thanks." Riel said to her still surprised
She signed at him and as they both sat down on the chair.
'But do you always ask the girl questions whenever she gets back from the woman's place?" Riel asked Desse curiously.
'Actually I don't, I only make sure she delivers the food items and the other things daily. I actually never thought it was necessary to do so because i know if there was something important the woman said to her she would inform me about it immediately."
'Seriously? So you never cared to ask? What if the woman never accepted any of the items?" Riel asked her in a straight and serious tone.
'If she rejected the items, I am so certain that the maid would have told me about it already." Desse answered him, also giving a serious look in a smart tone.
'Okay, what if everyday she went to the woman's house she was not around but she would always drop the food item in front of the house and the next day when she gets there the food is no longer there. See?"
'Can she be so stupid or naive to see such and not inform me about it immediately."
'Calm down Desse, I never said she did that already I am just making you see reasons why you are supposed to ask her questions any time she comes back from delivering the items to the woman." Riel explained to her in a calm tone when he noticed she was already angry and was taking the matter to another level.
'I know, I know. I don't know why I never got to ask before, maybe because I was always busy." She told him calmly.
'Okay it is not time to pass blame. I think we should invite her over here so we can ask her some questions,'' he said to her as he looked round the living room whether he would see any guard so he could send him to bring the girl.
'Do you agree with me?" He asked her.
She was already deep in thought so she didn't hear him. She was biting her finger and bending her head.
'Desse, are you with me?" He asked her when he noticed she was already lost, he thought.
His loud voice shocked her and brought her back.
'Yh Ray, I am." Desse replied to him.
'Finally" Riel said as soon as he was able to sight a guard who was standing at the entrance of the door.
He signaled the guard and told him to come closer. The guard rushed down as soon as he noticed the signal of Riel. He came closer and Riel ordered him to go and bring the maid.
Desse and Riel waited patiently for the girl to come. They didn't say a word to each other until the guard arrived because they were both in deep thoughts. Few minutes later the guard was back without the maid.
'Sir when I got to her room they told me she went followed the chief chef to the market to get some food items." The guard said to they as he took a deep bow.
'Well done, you can now take your leave." Riel said to the guard after delivery the message.
The guard bowed down and left their presence immediately. Desse and Riel looked at each other, Desse was a little bit scared but she couldn't place her head on the reason why she was.
'I think I had too much to eat and now I am a little dizzy. I will be going upstairs to have a nap, please don't disturb me." She said to him jokingly while standing.
'Okay darling, have a nice rest" he replied.
'I am also feeling sleepy because I had too much to eat and now my seem a little bit heavy for me to lift." Riel said as he tried standing up.
Desse was standing while listening to him.
'Same here, I think I should start going so I don't fall down here." Desse replied as she went upstairs and climbed the staircase slowly so she won't slip or
As soon as Desse got to the room she threw herself on the bed and slept off

Desse was in the sitting room chatting when they suddenly heard some noise coming from outside. It sounded like the security was fighting with somebody.
'Can someone go out there and see what is happening?" Desse shouted angrily.
She was really pissed off by the noise because she was having an interesting conversation with Riel. Immediately one guard ran to check what was happening. Seconds later he came back and the noise was even more intense.
'What exactly is going on outside? Why is the noise more intensed?" Desse asked the guard as soon as he arrived back.
The guard came closer and bowed down his head.
'Ma, what I don't know what and who started the fight but I saw the late maid Mum outside and it seems like she came with some other people who wore suits and two army officers. They are trying to force their way inside the mansion and the securities are trying to hold them back." The guard reported to them.
'People in suits?" Riel asked the guard
'An army officer?" Desse also asked the guard.
'Yes Sir and Ma." He replied to both of them.
They stood up immediately to go see for themselves what was happening.
