Chapter 99

Christabel stopped running when she got to the stairs, she started walking downstairs weakly, she still couldn't believe her eyes. Christabel turned back and sighted Alpha James, he was not dressed properly so he could not follow her downstairs, he was trying to calm her down from a distance.
She looked away and continued walking downstairs.
'I told her not to go upstairs." The little girl said to herself When she sighted Christabel walking downstairs. Christabel's eyes met with the girl's eye.
Christabel felt betrayed all over again, everyone around her always betrayed her even her mates always betrayed her.
The lady she met on the bed with Alpha James is the little girl's mother. No wonder the girl was telling Christabel not to go upstairs.
The girl walked away after staring at Christabel for a while. Christabel got to the sitting room abs sat on the couch, she was too weak to continue walking so she had to seat down.
'How did this happen again?" Christabel asked herself as memories of her relationship with Kelvin flashed back.
Kelvin Is Christabel's ex boyfriend and supposed mate, but he always cheated on her, even when he promised not to cheat again he still couldn't fulfill his promise and Christabel got tired of him. She had to break up with him because of her mental health.
And just when she thought she finally got the perfect mate this happened. Though their relationship has been really toxic she was able to endure everything because of the love she has for Alpha James.
Christabel was completely heartbroken because it did not take Alpha James anything to throw away eight years with her.
Christabel wiped her tears away after crying for sometime.
'I will never be fooled by love again," Christabel said to herself angrily and removed the ring on her finger, she removed the bracelet and the necklace Alpha James gave her on their anniversary.
After dropping them on the table she stood up and walked out of the sitting room, when she got out of the house she turned back and looked at the mansion.
'I will never return here." Christabel said to herself and entered the car.
Alpha James rushed downstairs when he was done wearing something he can step out of his room with.
Alpha James sighted the necklace on the table and rushed to take a look at it. He noticed it's the necklace he gave her eight years ago on their anniversary, it was a sign of the love they have for each other.
At this point Alpha James knew he fucked up, they have had lots of issues in their relationship but never has Alpha James ever cheated on her. This is the first time, and he is aware that's the reason she left her ex.
Alpha James wanted to place a call across to her but he wasn't with his phone. He ran back to his room to get the phone. When he got to his room he sighted Sofia still laying on his bed.
He looked at her but he was in a hurry to call Christabel so he didn't really say anything to her.
Christabel was in a cab heading home, she felt stupid for wasting eight years with a man that could throw the eight years away like it was nothing.
She was trying to hold in the tears but she couldn't, she started crying in the can, the cab man turned back to see if she was okay.
'Are you okay ma'am?" The cab man asked her after staring at her through the mirror for a while.
'I am fine." Christabel said to him and raised her head, her make up was literally a mess when she raised her head. She didn't even bother to see what her face is looks like, the only thing on her head is how Alpha James just shattered her heart.
The cab finally got to her house and she got out. She walked to the door of her house, she tried opening it and it opened immediately, she did not even bother to know why it was opened she just walked in.
She sat on the couch in the sitting room and threw her bag on the floor.
Mira heard a sound from the kitchen, she wanted to overlook it but she could because she was scared she is the only one at home.
'Is anyone there?" She asked while walking out of the kitchen. She heard a sound again, she went back into the kitchen and took a stick, she started walking out with the stick ready to hit whoever the pervert is.
'Who are you?" Mira asked again and finally got out of the kitchen, when she got out she realized the sound was coming from the sitting room, she sighted someone sitting there.
'Why does the person look like Christabel?" Mira asked herself and threw the stick away.
'Oh my god, who is this? Christabel, why do you look like this?" Mira asked Christabel and sat beside her. Christabel turned to look at Mira and started crying again. She rested her head on Mira's shoulder.
'Please stop crying," Mira said to her trying to console her, Christabel raised her head and turned to look at Mira.
'It's clear now that I'm cursed," Mira was shocked to hear such words from Christabel.
'Christabel, stop it. You are not cursed." Mira scolded immediately. When Christabel heard this she wished the word could comfort her a little but it was already too clear to her that she is cursed.
'Please stop trying to make me feel better, I am really cursed, you know I never believed until now." Christabel said to Mira and wiped her tears. Mira started getting worried, she knew this is really unlike Christabel.
Christabel will never call herself cursed or else she was hirt by someone.
'Christabel please tell me what's going on? You are scaring me." Mira said to Christabel. She knew there must be something really bad that has happened to make Christabel talk the way she is talking now.
Christabel remembered what she saw in Alpha James house and she started crying again. Christabel was still finding it hard to believe that something like that will happen to her.
Mira tried to imagine what it could be, she was away for three month and a few hours when they talked and she seemed really excited.
'Why is she like this now?" Mira asked herself while trying to calm Christabel down.
'It's fine if you don't want to talk about it, but can you please stop crying?" Mira said to her, because she felt bad seeing her best friend cry.
'We broke up." Mira was confused when she heard what Christabel said, she raised Christabel's head from her shoulder.
'What are you saying?" Mira asked Christabel, finding it hard to believe what Christabel just said to her.
'You heard me right, we broke up." Christabel announced to Mira to confirm what Mira heard earlier is correct.
'Why? How? I mean when?" Mira asked confusingly. She was so confused that she didn't know which of the questions she wanted to be answered. She turned to look at Christabel.
'No wonder she looks like this." Mira said to herself while looking at Christabel's face.
'I cannot explain now, I just want to sleep and rest my head." Christabel said to Mira and laid on the couch. Mira couldn't stop thinking of what would have gone wrong.
It's just two weeks left and Alpha James will finally make Christabel his, and now something like this is happening. Mira looked at Christabel's face while she was asleep and all she could feel for Christabel was pity.
Mira picked her phone and placed a call across to Alpha James and immediately he picked it. Mira was surprised because he doesn't usually pick her calls.
'Hi, is Christabel there?" Alpha James asked Mira immediately, and he sounded worried. At this point Mira could tell the fault is from Alpha James.
'Yes she is, she has been crying since she got here and she said you two broke up already." Mira explained to Alpha James. Alpha James used to treat Christabel like shit while they were together.
Suddenly he is acting like he really loves her. Mira couldn't stop wondering what's going on, but whatever it is must be very serious. There was a sudden silence between both of them.
Mira wanted to ask Alpha James what's going on but on a second thought she felt if she asks him he might not tell her so it's better she pretends like she knows what's going on.
'Please tell her not to break up with me, it was just sex, there is nothing between both of us." Alpha James explained to Mira. Mira was lost at this stage.
'What is going on? What is Alpha James talking about?" Mira asked herself while she was still on the phone call with Alpha James
