Chapter 71

' You're not alone." Was the last thing she heard, and then, everything went blur.
' Open your eyes." He said, and she did so.
She looked around the environment, it didn't look like the earth she knew. It looked much more like outer space.
' What's this place?" She asked him.
' Patience."
Why would she felt patient in somewhere like this? What if something comes out from nowhere and鈥�
The statement haven't been completed in her head when he said. ' You over think."
She looks at him. ' That's why I've got a brain."
' That doesn't count why you have to think too much. Weren't you told on that already? '
She didn't take her gaze off him. How the heck did he know about that?
' How do you know about that?" She questioned. ' Have you been spying on me or something? '
He looks back at her. ' I'm in your head, remember. By the way, we've got to our destination. ' He said, changing the topic.
Desse looked before her, they were now standing in a place that looks more like a field. Probably like the earth she knows.
' What's this place?" She asked. She didn't remember the both of them walking, but how did they get here??
What the fu*k is going on??
She did notice he was staring at here, when she looked up, she quickly took off her gaze. She can't believe she was actually thinking again.
Yes, it's one attitude about her that she can never let go. And what do you expect? She's got brain!
' Why are we here?" She asked again.
' This is what will happen after I am freed." He simply said.
' You mean, earth's doom? ' She asked surprised, her eyes were already wide open.
' Earth has nothing to do with this. It is only my brother and everyone who sides him." Turns his gaze to her, ' If possible, you're no exemption. '
His gaze turned to a frown the moment he was staring at her. It looked frightful as the first time she saw him, in her first dream.
' What?" She asked, her word sounding like a whisper. ' I鈥� I didn't do anything. I mean, I have never sided your brother. I don't even want him alive, why would I have to die along with him? ' She was shivering while talking.
He looks away, not saying anything to her.
Desse's eyes grew heavy with tears, her heart beating so fast. Was this how fate wanted her life to be?
All for one person she was gonna die, in the hands of the one she wished to restore hope to all.
' What is it that you think of?" She ignored him.
He didn't seem concerned of her current condition. He didn't even care if his words had hurt her or not. Or maybe that's because she has forgotten he wasn't a human anymore to care or feel emotional.
' Now I regret hoping in your return. You deserve the curse. You're a monster. You're nothing but damnation. As soon as I get the hell out of this place, I will let Matt know about everything you've showed me.
I will help him become the King. I will stand by his side, so that when you kill me, I will have nothing to regret. I wished you weren't in my head. ' her heart filled with rage and anger as she spat the words to him.
His face turned to a deep frown like he was going to tear her in halves, not minding if he was in her head.
' I don't want to see how the future will be. Get the fu*k out of my head, you monster. ' She said in clenched teeth. ' Get. The. Fu*k. Out!! '
' No. No!!" He tried to stop her, but she pulls him off her mind.
' Take your fu*king revenge alone."
She woke up, feeling her soul and body intact. She didn't regret any bit of her words to him.
He was just being so ungrateful. Maybe it's all her fault, she shouldn't have thought about him all those times.
After all, she was going to round off the number of her family, her people. Finally, she'd have to be with them in the after life.
She vowed within herself she was going to forget about him. Every history about him.

AT MOUNT EVEREST***
He rowled, his voice echoing miles and meters away from the cave. He fought so hard to break free from the chains, but he couldn't, for they were too strong.
He looked at the flower, though it was slowly withering, but he was already losing his patient.
' Desse!!" He rowled her name. ' Desse!!"
After so many attempts which ended up in vain, he stopped struggling, but the anger burning in him didn't stop.
Her words kept echoing in his head. 芦 Now I regret hoping in your return. You deserve the curse. You're a monster. I will help Matt become the King. I will stand by his side, so that when you kill me, I will have nothing to regret.禄
' Desse!!!" He cursed.
Again, he looked at the flower as if doing so will free him even before it withers.
He saw her image. She was sitting on her bed, her hands folded around her legs as she sat in thoughts, weeping.
He was deeply angry at her, but watching her made him feel soft. And he hated the way he was feeling.

Desse'S ROOM***

She could hear him rowl. His voice sounding in her ear drums. But she forced herself not to listen, and she did everything to let him off her head.
She took a deep breath.
When she woke, she didn't remember anything that had happened the previous night.
She knew some thing did happen, but what was it? She didn't bother thinking about it.
While she dressed Matt's room, he noticed her smiling. He thought she was smiling at him.
He got out of the bed, walking to her. He takes hold of her waist, pulling her to himself. She was still, she didn't move.
' Why do you keep refusing me out of your life? You just don't know what you've done to me. I can't think without having you in my head. ' He said, brushing kisses on her bare neck.
' Your鈥� I.. I." She stammered.
' Just say yes, and I will give you all that you want. I am ready to give you a half of my kingdom, if only you accept to become my queen. '
But then, she realized what she had forgotten. The beast underneath the mountain. She had promised to help Matt become King.
' Your highness."
He turns her, that she was now facing him. ' I have decided to become king by next week. But, I cannot become a great king without a queen by my side. ' Takes hold of her hand, raising it to his lips.
He places a soft kiss at the back of her palm, ' Will you become my queen, Miss Van Amstel?" He asked in a pleading way.
A hot tear rolled from her eye, down to her cheek. She knew saying a yes was a wrong choice but鈥� what can she do?
Whether or not she sided with Matt, he was going to have her dead. So, it was pointless surviving.
A tear turned to pools of tears, rolling out of her eyes. ' Your highness." Was the only thing that could come out of her mouth.
She remembered every one she loved were all gone because of him. Her home, her family, Camila, the rogues but here he is with her, fully repented in his love for her.
He touches her cheek, drying her tears with the tip of his thumb, patiently waiting for her reply.
' I can let you think about it, as long as it's a positive response. ' He leans, placing a kiss on her wet cheek." Be my queen. '
The news spread like wide fire all over the castle. Those who hated Desse hated her the more.
Matt was overjoyed to have Desse as his queen even though she haven't given him a reply.
Holland rushed to her room. She was surprised at Desse's sudden change of mind to serve Matt.
But she got more surprised at how confident Desse acted towards her for not being out of her mind.
' It's pointless having hope on some kinda god forsaking animal out there. We are all gonna die, Holland, so what's the need?
I never had such opportunity in this life, I think now is my time to enjoy what life has for me rather than hoping on some shit out there. ' She spat, hint of anger sounding in her voice.
' Jane, that isn't the way to judge things. Matt isn't the saint either, he will make your life miserable at the end of all this. All he wants from you is your pride, and once he gets it, you're nothing to him. '
' I don't care. At least, we're all gonna die after that. ' She said, not minding what Holland has just said.
' Are you sure you really wanna do this?"
' I know what I'm doing, Holland. I don't think I care about this life anymore. ' She insisted. ' I accept to marry prince Matt whether there is a consequence for it or not."
' Jane, what has he done to you? ' She asked in a concerned voice. ' You aren't the Desse I once knew."
' He has done nothing to me. And yes, I changed. '
She walked pass her out of the room. ' Where are you going?" She asked.
' To meet Matt. I need to give him my reply. '
' Desse wait! Please don't do this to us. ' She ignored her, making her way to Matt's chamber.
She offered a knock on his door, ' Who is that?" He asked from the inside.
' It is I, Desse. ' She answered.
' Open it ' he ordered.
She gently push the door open, stepping in. She bowed her head at him.
' I don't think I am ready for lunch now. Maybe鈥� '
She cuts in. ' I am here for your proposal. '
It was as if Matt grew deaf for a second. His heart rose in excitement, but calmed down almost immediately.
Was she gonna say a no to him? Her face doesn't look good for a positive response.
' Okay. So, what do you say about my proposal?"
' I鈥� I accept to be your queen, but only on one condition. ' She stated
' Which is?" He asked. ' I am ready to do anything as far as it makes you happy."
' Let the rogues go back home, and I promise you with my life, I will be your loyal queen, I will stand by your side and I will serve you with all my heart until my last breath. '
' Consider it done, my love. ' He accepted.
