Chapter 83

Desse sat at the garden quietly. She's been mute since the morning arrived.
Riel was beginning to wonder if her problem was leaving or getting worster.
Her quietness was annoying to the bones. She wasn't even replying to the physician, and she wasn't replying to anyone at all.
Her case was practically the opposite of relief.
She would only talk when she felt like. Or probably when she sees the birds flying.
Even Desire who was beside her, she didn't say a word to her. She didn't even spare her a glance.
'Jane." She called, sitting beside her. 'Can you hear me?" She asked, leaning her hands on her thighs. 'It's me, Desire. I am your maid."
Desse looked at her, then back to nowhere.
'Just say something. Please, say something to me. You're getting me worried."
'Shush, Camila, I'm trying to listen." She said.
' I am not Camila, I am Desire. Camila, she is dead."
She looked at her again. ' What are you saying? Camila isn't dead, she was right here with me."
'Jane, there is no Camila. It's just us here, you and me."
' Don't say that. Camila, are you dead? She said no. Why would you say my friend is dead?"
' Because, you told me."
' Told you? I don't even know who you are." She stood in front of her.
' But I know you. You are my best friend, Jane and I don't wanna take Camila's place from your heart. I served as your maid. We talked back at the dungeon, remember? And all you wanted was to be happy even when you knew you were gonna die.
Then鈥� then all of a sudden this. You've forgotten everything and everyone. Of all people you've forgotten me?" She holds her face in her hands. ' I want you to remember everything. I need you, Jane, he needs you and we all do. If you're gonna act crazy, don't take too long."
She drops a kiss on her cheek. 'Don't keep me waiting too long." She left.

Sophie stormed into his room. ' What happened last night?" She stormed.
'I had some important stuffs to work on."
'So, I can see you really don't want this throne. And by the way, I'm leaving Moon Stone to Texas by next week. So just in case you still need this crown, think about our deal." She left.
Riel was a boat at the middle of nowhere. He was confused, but doesn't know what made him so confused.
Why would he have to fight for his crown, his property? What does this woman think she is?
He was going to play whatever game it is she was coaching.
He went to the physician's chamber, 'How is the remedy going?" He asked.
'Successfully, Your Majesty. But she still needs more time to recollect all she's forgotten."
' Should we have hope in her sudden change of attitude?"
' Hopefully. Sire, if we want her fast recovery, then we should let her be for a while. Try not making her think or talk too much. The more we force her to, the more we endanger her memory."
He walks close to his window. ' Let's hope she gets over with this by tomorrow or the next."
Riel went to the garden, standing beside a tree. He didn't want her to see him.
Desse was busy lining different colours of flower on the grass. One after the other, she'd test it on her hair, making sweet poses with it.
He was lost staring at her that he didn't notice when she stood up.
There were numbers of birds picking some grains on the ground. She ran towards it but they all flew away.
She turned round in circles, her gown moving a bit high up to her knee level.
Her both hands spread out, her lips played the widest smile which turned to laughter, with her eyes closed.
She looked happy like nothing ever happened. Her long hair dangled and she'd shove her hair when the wind disturbs.
She stopped, breathing heavily.
She looked towards his direction to see him standing, watching her.
She was staring back at him and he didn't notice that. Until she hung her both hands on her waist.
There was no way he could pretend, she had seen him even before he noticed.
'Hey." He greeted. 'I uhmm鈥� I was just鈥� you know, strolling around and I heard you laughing so鈥�"
' Who are you? Are you here to kidnap me?"
' Kidnap?" He chuckled. ' I would never do that. I mean, I was pleased at what you were doing and I decided to stay and watch."
' Are you sure? You look bad to me."
He smiled at her drama. ' You aren't the first to say that. But honestly, I'm the coolest guy you've ever met."
' Hmm." She hummed. ' Why should I believe you?"
' You don't have to believe me. It's just the truth about me. Excuse me, have we met before?"
' I'm sorry, I don't remember meeting you."
' I don't know but you look familiar to me."
' People resembles most times. So, you must have met my look alike."
' No, I know what I am saying. You look familiar to me."
She rolled her eyes. ' Oh please. Hold on, are you stalking me?"
'No. No, I wouldn't stalk you. I mean鈥� I have never stalked on you."
' I have to go now, the kids will be waiting for me."
' Why don't I join you meet this鈥� kids?"
' You look scary, you'll probably scare them aware." She packed the blanket. 'I have to go."
'Wait." She stopped. 'I don't even know your name."
'I don't have a name."
' Seriously?"
' I don't know. I don't remember my name. By the way, why are you even asking?"
' Don't you think it wouldn't be nice meeting you and letting you go without even knowing your name? '
' You are the first person I am telling this." She sighed. 'My name is Desse."
'It will be our little secret, Desse." He smiled.
She smiled back, but it faded almost immediately. 'I have to go now."
Even at her psycho condition, she still haven't stopped from making him smile.
Somehow, he was beginning to love her current self than her other self.
And for the rest of the day, whenever he remembers the incident at the garden, he'd smile.
He went ahead to meet the physician who was preparing Desse's medicine.
'I think maybe we should skip tonight's medication for tomorrow."
' But sire, if we skip tonight's medication, it will delay her cure. We have to be fervent with this if we really want Her majesty back."
' Well, right now, I want her the way she is for tonight. Preserve the medication for tomorrow."
' Yes, sire."
Later that night, he went to Sophie's room. She was laying almost half naked on her bed, like she was expecting someone.
She looked away as he stood by the door. 'May I come in?" He asked.
'Whatever." She scoffed.
He walked in, smiling. 'What took you so long?" She asked. 'I was wondering if you've decided to leave the crown with me."
'I hate to have an official night and get disturbed. I just love a straight forward s*x."
Sophie blushed. ' Then let's get this done with once and for all." She stepped out of the bed, completely taking off her dress.
And she was standing naked before him.
He bit his lower lip, smirking evilly as he ran his gaze on her.
As he came close to her, almost having a grab on her butt, there came a knock on the door.
'Who is that?" He asked.
'I'm sorry sire, but we've got a problem now." Said the voice from the outside.
' That will do later." He said, returning his gaze back to her.
She folded her arms around his neck, their lips inches close. The voice said again.
' Sire, it's urgent."
' Aren't you hearing, that should do later." She sparked.
' I'm sorry. The physician said you must hear it, it's concerning the girl."
' What girl?" She asked, looking into his eyes.
' Just a normal girl I saved from the village. I think she needs my attention. I'll be back for this soon, don't put on your dress." He kissed her lips. ' I promise."
' What happened to the girl?" He asked as soon as they were steps away from Sophie's room.
' Nothing, sire. I thought you might need some backup on that so," referring to the incident in Sophie's room. 'I鈥� Uhmm鈥� she's actually asleep right now."
Riel smiled. ' I wasn't planning on fu*king her. But well, you really did a good job." Taps his shoulder. ' I need you to meet the blacksmith, tell him I need a new crown before sun rise."
'What are you going to do about her?" He asked.
Riel shrugged. ' Don't worry about her."
His guard took a different direction which led outside the castle. He went to meet with the blacksmith to pass the message.
'His majesty requests for a new crown before sunrise." He informed.
'I will start the preparation as soon as possible." He bowed.

The following morning, the physician didn't hesitate for Desse's medication. He made sure she had taken it before anything else.
Though she was beginning to talk a little bit senseful, but should that be a relief yet?
'My Lady, can you hear me?" He asked.
'Of course, I can hear you. I ain't deaf, okay?" She snapped.
' Oh, okay. I'll go order for your breakfast."
She looked at him but said nothing.
He left, to meet Riel who has been waiting outside the door.
'How is she?" he asked.
'Much better than before."
He nods his head.
'You can go see her if you want."
' No. Get her something to eat." He left to his room.
The physician went to inform Desire of Desse's breakfast. Desire went to the kitchen to get her meal.
When she entered, Desse looked at her and smiled. She didn't smile back, it wasn't necessary doing so with someone who doesn't recognizes her.
'You breakfast is ready." She informed, dropping it on the table. 'Would you mind eating on the bed?"
Desse was still glaring at her but didn't say a word. ' Great, now I am talking to myself." She walks to her, squatting. 'Can you at least say or do something? You're making me look like a fool with all this attitudes."
Desse smiled.
She stood up, 'Just whatever." She took the tray of food, dropping it on the bed. 'I'll be back when you're done eating."
She held the door handle, about to open the door when Desse called her name. 'Desire."
She was shocked, she paused. 'Did you just鈥�" turns to her. 'Did you just call my name?"
She rushed to her side, squatting again. 'You remember my name, don't you?"
She touched her cheek. 'Of course, I do."
'Oh please don't tell me it's the Desire who poisoned your food." She grunts.
Desse smiled at her. She shook her head. ' I wasn't gonna mention that. I remember you now, you were my maid."
Desire exclaimed happily. ' Yes, you remember me! You remember my name!!" She jubilated. 'What else do you remember?"
' I remember getting married to Matt. I remember sharing some good times with him until then, Sophie and Caro ended it with witchcraft. And I also remembered getting locked up in the dungeon."
' How long did you remembered this?" Desire asked.
'I had this vision last night where all this kept moving in my head repeatedly. But, I still feel like I am forgetting something." She said, rubbing her forehead.
' Some thing like what?"
'I don't know. Since I woke up, I've been trying hard to remember but鈥� I just can't figure it out. But, I know it's something important."
' Desse, I wanna tell you something."
' What's that?" She asked.
' Matt鈥� he is dead."
Desse was still. ' I wanted to tell you this but鈥� back then you were out of your mind."
' Where is his body? I have to see him."
' I don't think it's possible."
' Why would you say that? Sophie gave the goddamn rules?" She sparked.
' No, King Riel did."
' Who's Riel?" She asked, making a confused face.
'Oh no. Don't tell me this is the most important part you're forgetting."
' What are you talking about? What important part?"
' The part where you're forgetting about the one person who owns you. Who has always been in control of your mind. Don't tell me you don't remember the cursed beast from century ago. The one said to be locked up underneath the mountain Everest."
Desse shook her head. ' I don't remember that."
' Oh come on, you have to." She grunted. ' Whatever, we'll work on that later but right now, why don't we take you to your late husband?"
