'Hey, Desire." She called like it's been years since they last saw each other.
'So, finally the almighty Desse Rutherford remembers my name today." She flew her hands high.
Desse furrowed. ' I never forget your name." She defended.
'No, of course not. I'm not trying to sound jealous or what-so-ever you may think of it to be, and thankfully you two are really getting along than I thought. But on the other hand, I have become one thing you despise the most."
' No, Desire, don't talk like that. '
' Well, as you can see, I am." She hangs her hands on her waist. ' You totally waved me off your life, Jane, like you don't even know who I am anymore. I walk into your room every morning expecting you to say something to me, and all you have to do is keep mute at me?
You know, I ain't regretting helping out to join you and his majesty together but鈥� is this the thank you I get in return? Being a sudden ghostie for nothing?! ' She yanked angrily.
Desse sighed. Every word Desire had just said held every bit of truth, and she has no reason to doubt that.
'Look, Desire, I get it, okay? I get everything you just said and I won't argue any bit of it with you. You know鈥� ' Sighs again. ' there are lots of things going on in this little life of mine and right now, right here I am fighting to figure it out.
I am not the Desse you once knew, I am something different and鈥� and scary. '
' You have a disease?"
' No!"
' Then what's so scary about you?"
'A lot. And do you know what hurts the most, it's complicated."
' Jesus Christ, Jane, I think you're scaring the shit out of me already."
' I told you, my life is scary, I am scary and telling you about my complicated鈥� life will only make things worster than they should be. So, it's not like I totally forgot about you, no. I was just being so scared this scary part of my life won't have to affect us."
' Awwn鈥� that's so sweet of you, Jane. So you do have a big heart like this?"
' Don't try acting like I just got the big heart now. Come on, I've been a sweet girl since we met, haven't I? '
' Well, the last time I checked, I was the sweeter one."
' You are so ungrateful, Desire, how can you say that. ' She teased. ' Even the moon Goddess did confirm that, okay?"
' Well, whatever."
' Guess I won." She jubilated.
' That's because I let you win."
They were silent for a while. Desire was picking some strawberries while she sat behind, watching.
Any berry Desire picked, she'd bring it for her to eat. 'Have some too." She points to her to eat.
'I'll have some when I'm done with this." She refused.
Desse was slowly eating on the berries before her, staining her teeth with it. She looked at Desire who was also doing the same.
'I thought you said after you are done!" She yelled.
'I changed my mind. I mean, I'm starving, what do you expect?"
Desse laughed. ' I knew you were just forming not to be hungry but don't worry. . ." She fell to the ground, unconscious.
Desire looked at her, then smiled. ' Playing child's game with me, huh?"
She finished picking the rest of the berries which filled the small basket. ' Okay, I'm done. Now we can eat them in peace."
She drops the basket to the ground. ' Come on, Jane, that's enough already. ' She sat beside her. ' Jane, for Zeus sake wake up and let's get this done with." She grunted.
She looked at her eyelids, they weren't moving. She slightly move her body but there was no response.
'Okay, Jane, you're scaring the shit outta me. Look, I don't like such kind of jokes, okay, it's expensive." Yet, Desse still laid in the same position.
' What the f__"
Desse POV
I woke up in the same familiar environment, and I'd admit, this isn't funny. Waking up to find myself in the multi universe only means one thing. . .
There's got to be another vision. But the problem is, what vision?
Everywhere was so dark as usual, all I could hear is nothing but the sound of water at each movement I made.
From afar, I saw a figure sitting comfortably on a bed. All I know is there is a bed, but I can't clearly see who it was on it.
I increased my movement, making little runs and stops just to get closer on time before the multi universe closes it's door against me.
I was close enough to see who it was, but shocked to see it was my other self quietly sitting on the bed.
'Hello?" I called but her eyes were fixed at a particular direction which I followed but saw nothing. 'Hey, Jane, can you hear me?" I asked in a bit loud voice.
I stretched my hand at her. ' We can talk this together. Show me what it is you are looking at."
She threw an angry gaze at me, grabbing my wrist tight. I struggled to let go, but her grip was stronger. I think every thing about this multi universe is weird than I thought.
'Jane. Jane, you're hurting me. Jane you need to stop hurting me." I gasped.
' We all believed in you. We thought you'd save us all, but you left. You let her take us. You let her kill him. ' She spat angrily. ' We shouldn't have trusted you, Jane. We shouldn't have believe in your superstitious powers."
' What are you talking about? This鈥� this is crazy okay? '
' No, you are crazy. '
She pushed me. I was hoping to land my ass to the ground but unfortunately, I was still on air. 'No, Jane!!" I screamed.
I woke up in the fortress, the first thing I saw almost made me passed out. 'What?" I covered my mouth from screaming.
My whole body was trembling like I was staring at the devil himself. Well, I was staring at dead bodies covered in their bloods.
'What happened here?" I asked no one in particular. ' Oh my God!"
I rushed to check for Riel, he wasn't in our room. Where the heck will he be? I was worried about him.
'Riel!" I called. 'Riel can you hear me?! Riel!!"
I saw him, he was sitting on his throne holding the side of his rib from the blood which rolled out. I rushed to him.
'What happened?" I asked in tears, squatting before him, my hand on his ribs too and I didn't mind his blood on my hands. 'What happened here?" I asked again.
'You did this, Jane, you did this to us." He said weakly.
' Ray, what are you talking about? Why would I ever do such a thing like this to you, to anyone? '
' I tried stopping you, but you were so angry and you wouldn't even listen to me. Then you did all this, you killed all of them. They are dead because of you, Jane. What were you thinking?! '
' I鈥�. I鈥� don't understand. I would never kill anyone. I would never do this to you." I shook my head. ' I don't even have anger issues, why would I think of hurting every single soul?"
'What happened to Desire?" He asked, my mind reflected back to earth.
' She was with me minutes ago. She's okay and fine."
' No, she is dead." He threw the word at me.
' What? 'I said in a whisper.
' She was the first you killed. You didn't even spare her, you rendered her death in pieces." He said in clenched teeth.
' No. No, no, no, that can't be possible! She is not dead!! ' I left him, running outside the garden, the last place I remember meeting her.
'Oh, Jesus Christ, Desire." I fell on her body. Her head was separated from her body. 'Oh, no, no, no. No, please, I didn't do this. I would never鈥� ever do this, I swear." I wept.
' Why me? Why me?"
' This is the third evil I couldn't show you." I heard my guardian angel say to me. ' You are the third evil."
' No. No. ' I refuse to accept. ' I didn't do any of these. Maybe Sophie did and you all must have mistaken it to be me. We don't know if she had camouflage it all."
' She didn't. I can even show you how it all happened." He points at a direction. ' Look over there. '
I moved my eyes to the direction of his hand. 'That is how it all happened."
I couldn't even watch myself killing those innocent people. How I devoured them like their lives meant nothing.
I can't believe this was how evil my powers were, and somehow I was beginning to hate both myself and my gift.
'Your gift is of great help but when you let it control you, it becomes a nightmare to everyone."
I returned back to reality to see Desire staring at me with concern. She's been asking me what the problem was but all I could give in reply was my tears.
She hugged me tight to herself, tapping my back like a child. 'It's okay. It's okay." She say.
'No, it's not, Desire. It's never gonna be okay. It will never be okay. '
' Don't say that. I don't know what you saw or what happened, but I assure you, every thing will definitely be alright."
' You think so? '
' I believe so." I remembered her dead body in my vision and I ended up crying the more. ' I'm sorry, none of these should have happened. I never wanted it to happen. '
' Whenever you've gotten over with this, I'll be ready to listen to it. For now, you need to calm down."
' Those people trusted me. He trusted me."
' And we still do. We all still do. '
But do I trust myself? After what I did at the other dimension, am I supposed to believe the fact that I'm still the innocent girl I claimed to be?
The multi universe doesn't lie, it has never. If I am to save everyone, does it mean I will end it too?
I'm totally confused right now and I need someone to give an answer to my question.
