Chapter 48
**In the masters bedroom**
It was nightfall already and Riel wasn't yet back and when Desse tried calling him his line was not going. She came to the room to have her shower and waited for him afterwards.
'La la la lo la fa so la la la" Desse sang as she took her shower in the bathroom.
As she sang happily she suddenly stopped and began to think about her husband who left the house at 4:30 am and he wasn't still back. She remembered times when she used to go she would only spend like eight to ten hours there but he has spent more than twelve hours there. The worst part of it was that his phone was not reachable at first but now it said it was switched off.
'Riel never allows his phone to go off . What is going on? Hope nothing has happened to my husband." Desse said to herself as she paused the shower that was rushing.
Second later she was done bathing and changed into her nightwears. She sat in the bed and waited past for him to come back or at least call.
'What? It's 10:51pm at Riel isn't back yet ' Desse said to herself as she grabbed her nightwear jacket and wore it.
Desse was coming down the stairs when she met Christabel's Mum who was just retiring to bed.
'Good evening Ma'am ' Christabel's mum greeted Desse.
'Welcome, where are you coming back from at this time of the night." Desse asked her curiously.
'I am just retiring to bed. I have been on the kitchen doing the dishes so it won't be hard for the cook to use when th sety wake up in the morning. Hope there's no problem because I see so much tension in your eyes." Desse replied her and also asked her,curiously.
'Riel is not yet back from where he went to since morning."
'What? but her left as early as 4:30 in the morning."
'Exactly"
'Habe you tried calling him?"
'Yes I have but it isn't going and telling it telling me switch off."
'Well you don't have to panic to much, why don't we go and wait for him patiently in the sitting room since that's the place he will pass first before going in." Christabel's Mum suggested as she and Desse walked down to the sitting room.
'Thank you very much for for staying up with me even after having a busy and stressful day." The said as they both sat down on the chair.
'No that's not a problem for me besides, I always find it hard to sleep at night."
'Sorry about that, I think you need to see a doctor concerning that because the last time I had such complaints I never wanted to see a doctor but Riel forced me too and when I eventually met a doctor. He said it was a very bad medical condition and it could kill faster than some sickness or diseases." Desse advised her, calmly.
'Thanks for you advice Ma'am, I would make sure I see a doctor as soon as possible."
'There is nothing like as soon as possible I will call the doctor tomorrow to come give you a check and tell you the cause of your sleepless night."
'But鈥�"
'There is no but you know Christabel is still to little to think of loosing you."
'Hmmm.. if you insist on calling the doctor, then it's fine with me but this has been the way I am ever since I was young"
'What? That is a really bad codified '
'I never thought of it as abnormal though."
'Yh it is" Desse advised Christabel's Mum.
The little discussion they had made Desse to stop panicking for a bit but as soon as they were done talking she went back to being worried again.
'Riel has never done something like this, staying out this late with his phone switched off is so unlike him."
'Yh I known but鈥� here he is." Christabel's Mum said to Desse as soon as she sighted Riel walking on through the door.
'Oh my God! Finally you are back ' Desse said in a loud tone as she ran to hug Riel.
'Welcome Sir, think I should go to my room now ma'am" Christabel's Mum greeted Riel and suggested she take her leave.
'Thanks for staying up with me I owe you one." Desse replied her.
Christabel's Mum left there presence while Desse and Riel went upstairs.
'What happened? You phone was not going at first and later on it tolome switched off. I was so worried about you." Desse said to Riel as they both climbed the stairs .
Riel was too tired to answer all Desse questions.
'I am so sorry the network over there was so terrible and my phone was already low. You know there is no where I would have probably charged it and the traffic was hectic." Riel replied as the got to the room.
Desse help him pull off his jacket and removed his shop.
'Please is there anything for me to eat? I am so famished right now, I haven't eaten since morning." Riel asked Desse as he removed his trousers.
'Yes there is. Would you like to eat it here or you would like to come downstairs in the dining room and eat it."
'I think I would prepare eating it here, I am too tired to go downstairs right now."
'Okay I would bring it upstairs for you."
'Yh thank you, I would be going into the shower no please don't be long." Riel said as he walked into the shower while Desse went to the kitchen to bring his food.
Few minutes later Desse was back from the kitchen with Riel's dinner while Riel was also out of the shower after spending much time in there. Riel was eating while Desse gave him gist about everything that happened earlier when he wasn't around. Riel was so happy and also proud of the bold step Christabel and her mum took and also Stephen for his artwork and promised to reward them for it.
