Chapter 30
It was a bright and beautiful morning, the green grass in the mansion was greener and brought in cool and fresh air. The mansion was peaceful and quiet. All workers were attending to their various assigned duties. Desse was in the living room moving from one angle of the sitting room to another. She was really feeling so restless.
'God, when will my Louis be fine again? How many more girls is he going to kill before he gets satisfied? How do I face the girl's family?" She asked herself, wondering about.
Riel was coming downstairs from his room when he saw Desse roaming around the sitting room panicking. He was wondering what could be making her restless.
'What is wrong darling?" Riel asked Desse in a sweet and calm tone.
Desse gave him a surprising look when she heard him ask her what was wrong with her.
'What do you mean by that, Riel? Are you serious or are you just trying to make fun of me?" Desse asked him angrily.
Riel was shocked by her reaction.
'Calm down, calm down, I was only asking you because as I was coming downstairs I saw you panicking. You were moving from one angle of the living room to another so that 's why I asked, ``I am sorry." Riel explained to her.
'Riel, you know the mess we are in right now, I couldn't sleep last night. I was worried about our son Louis and the maid he killed. What are we going to say to her family? How are we going to face her parents? I heard some of the maids and guards gossiping and they were saying she is the only child of her mother. How do we explain to her that her daughter was killed by our son?" Desse questionsed Riel.
'Hmmmm鈥." Riel signed.
It was so obvious on Riel's face that he was only shocked because of the way he witnessed the whole thing seeing his son feed on his fellow human being and not because of any other reason. He did not even think of all this Desse just said. As the saying goes it's the woman that always carries the whole problem on their head.
'Riel we are in a big mess that we can even imagine." Desse said to him while bending her head on the floor and placing his hand on his head.
'Darling, I won't lie to you, I never thought of this." He told her in a very low tone while shaking his head.
'How would you even say you did not think of this?" She asked him, giving him a very serious and angry look.
'Yes I didn't, or do you want me to lie about it?" He also asked her.
She was about to say something before Riel interrupted her.
'Let us not do this now (argue), let's get down to business, please just tell me what we are going to do because I am confused right now." Riel asked her.
'Seriously, are you actually asking me鈥 or you are just trying to piss me鈥 you know what, please leave me alone let me think." Desse told him angrily.
Riel was even more confused because he didn't know what he said to her that made her get so angry. He only told her what was on his mind and asked her what they should do.
'I am sorry if I pissed you off in any way but I was only trying to make us put our heads together and think of a way forward." He said to her in a sweet and calm tone.
'Hmm鈥 I and also sorry darling, I think I am just over reacting." Desse apologized to him as well.
They both came together and brought different ideas on how to solve the problem at hand.
'I think we should invite her Mum over today." Riel suggested.
'I know, that's the first thing we are supposed to do. We were supposed to even do that yesterday, o am wondering what she would say or even when she get to find out that her only child died yesterday and it was only brought to her noticed twenty-four hour after her death." Desse sadly said to Riel.
'I would loose my cool if I was on her shoes you know." She continued.
'I know right. That is really bad of us. We should have called her yesterday." He said to her disappointingly.
'Hmm鈥 I was going to do that yesterday but I was still in shock. I didn't even know the kind of words to say to her. But now I feel bad and regret not calling and telling her about it yesterday." Desse felt disappointed in herself as well.
'To think of the fact that I am also a woman and have a single child just like her I know her hurting it would be. I would do anything in my power to get justice for my child. I wish I could whine back the hands of time, I would have stopped Louis from killing her or even inform her parents the moment we found out that she was dead." She continued blaming herself.
'I know that but this is not the time for you to start blaming yourself, it's not your fault at all and people around you see and know how hard you try and take care of your maids." Riel advised her.
'Yh it's not time for me to be passing, the deed has been done and there is nothing any of us can do about it." She encouraged herself.
'So, should I pass a message across to her family?" Riel asked her.
'Hmm鈥 yh I think we should do that now." Desse replied him.
'But before that I would like us to call that psychologist we talked about recently, so that he could see Louis. Let's know what is wrong with him." Desse suggested.
'Yes dear, I agree with you we need to call him as soon as possible so we would get the solution to Louis problem." Riel agreed with her.
They went separately so they could call the people necessary.
