Chapter 79

She leans for a kiss. ' Thank you for showing me what love really is."
Sophie casted a spell on the guards, and without hesitation, they grabbed her forcefully, dragging her out to the dungeon which was beneath the fortress.
There she stayed without the sun light nor the moon, tied up in both hands and legs.
Sophie paid her a visit. She started with a laugh. 'I can't believe the newly great Queen of Moon Stone is now locked up in the dungeon. Isn't that great? ' She mocked.
Desse looked at her in between the strands of hair which covered her face.
'So now, who's ruling? Well, that's me." She points at herself, laughing hard. 'Matt doesn't love you anymore. If you can remember when I did tell you, the one you love will one day betray you. I think it just happened. '
' What do you want from me? '
' Nothing. I've gotten what I want already so, there's nothing more. And hey, I ain't greedy okay?"
' You took him away from me, as if that isn't enough, you took my crown and yet you claim to be the Queen? You don't deserve it, Sophie. '
' So who does?" She asked back. 'You? Oh, come on, you can't do anything as far as this dungeon is concerned. You are locked up only for today because you will be executed tomorrow morning!
And let me tell you something you don't know, no matter your prayers, not you nor the beast nor your crazy Moon Goddess can stop me from being what I am. So, get that at the back of your empty head. '
' You think your witchcraft can save you?"
Sophie smiled. ' I got this power from the greatest witch, so yes, it can. I don't remember the Moon Goddess practicing witchcraft so, I win. '
' You met the greatest sorceress doesn't make you a witch. You will know what a true witchcraft is when you see one." She laughed.
Sophie frowned. 'What's funny, bitch?"
Desse kept on laughing.
'Just stop!" But Desse didn't stop. 'I said fu*king stop!!" She yelled.
Desse chuckled. 'Aren't you gonna let me laugh out my sorrows before you have me dead? I just remembered one thing. It's just four days before the beast shows up. We don't even know if Matt is gonna survive or not.
Now let me ask you this, what's gonna happen when the beast wins the fight? Are you still gonna claim the throne? You know I just realized, Prince Riel won't love to have d**k like you. ' She mocked.
' You fu*king think that scares me? No matter what, I'll make sure I have Riel under my control. I don't know why I'm talking to you, you're gonna die tommorow, so you should be getting ready for hell."
' Hell? Tsk tsk tsk tsk tsk鈥� The last time I checked, your were the first to go to hell. It's just four days Sophie, what's fate telling you about that? Four days, Sophie, and it's not too far from now.
What can you see? What does the witchcraft tells you? Don't let this four days have you, think about it, four days. Four. Three. Two鈥�. '
' Shut up! Shut. Up!! 'She exclaimed.
Desse bursted out laughing at her, noticing how scared she have become. 'Tick tock.. tick tock.. tick tock.. tick tock, says the clock. Times running out, Sophie. '
With anger, Sophie left the dungeon back to the palace. It was Desse's turn to laugh. Despite knowing she was gone, she didn't stop laughing.
Besides, she isn't the only one dying. Or maybe she's forgotten what the goddess had told her, she wasn't gonna die but her future was for fate to decide.
Sophie made them starve her. She made sure Desse didn't have a taste of food for the rest of the day till the following morning.

The following day was supposed to be the day Desse is to be executed. Sophie was the desperate one, but something had to stop the execution from happening.
For no reason Matt shifted it till the following day. Sophie tried as much as possible to convince him to renounce his orders and let Desse to be executed.
She even went extra miles casting a spell on him but yet, none change his decision.
This got Sophie really pissed off. Caro came questioning her why their plan wasn't being executed that day. Even till today, no one knows the reason behind the change of mind.
'I think that bitch is up to something. I knew from the start there is something naughty about that girl. ' She said, thoughtfully.
' Or don't you think his love for her is still in his heart? Maybe your spell isn't completely strong enough to take it off him entirely. '
' There is no way the witch could have given me a fake spell. It's that bitch who's behind this. Who knows if Matt's doing is all because of her kiss. '
' She did kiss him after the spell has been casted? '
Sophie nodded her head.
' If you do want this spell to be as effective as it was, then you must kiss him."
' Yeah, you're right. Why didn't I think about this? Thank you so much Caro, you really are a good friend. ' She peeked her by the cheek. ' Thank you."

She breathed slowly, her stomach grumbled hungrily. It was like the atmosphere burned, though it was cold.
For a day and half Sophie had made them starve her. She hoped for someone, anyone to show up.
She hoped for Desire but on a second thought, she guessed maybe Sophie must have done something bad to her.
If so, then there's no point hoping for anyone because almost every maid hated her so much.
But not quite long she had thought about this, she could hear footsteps then a whispering voice from the far end of the cave.
'Thank you." Was the only word she did hear soundly.
Gradually the footsteps grew near, after then, a voice. 'Desse. Desse."
'Desire, is that you?"
'Desse, can you hear me? Are you alive? '
' Desire, I'm here." She said, a bit louder.
Desire stood by the door, glaring pitifully at her. 'Desse." She called in a shaky voice. 'Are you alright? '
Desse tried moving her hair aside since her hands can't reach her face. Forcefully, she moved her head backward, sending her hair to the back.
Now, she can see Desire clearly. 'Yes, I'm fine. What about you?" She asked back.
Desire nodded slowly. 'I had to sneak in and out to get you this. ' Her eyes moved to what Desire was holding. 'I knew she starved you so, I brought you something to eat. Though it isn't much but, I hope you can manage it. '
Desse stretched the chain, enabling herself to walk a little closer to the door. She took the snack from Desire, devouring them.
'How is it?" Desire asked, watching as she hate them all hungrily.
' It's good. ' She continued eating.
'I made it myself."
Desse paused, staring up at her. She smiled, 'You really are a good cook."
She was sure Desse had finished eating, she sat down on the floor. 'You're gonna stain you dress doing that. ' Said Desse.
'It doesn't matter. I heard tomorrow is your execution, I just wanna spend this few time with you before whatever happens." She smiled shyly, taking her gaze away from Desse who was staring back at her.
Desse started laughing. Desire wondered why she was laughing. 'What?" She asked.
But Desse kept on laughing, Desire followed after. 'What's funny?"
'What's funny?" She asked back.
'I don't know, you're the one laughing and it's making me laugh too. '
' I just wanna feel happy before I die. I don't want to have any regrets in my after life. And watching you smile, makes me happy the more."
Desire blushed. ' You're flattering me, aren't you? '
' No, I'm damn serious. You know, you do remind me of my best friend, her name is Camila. We've been childhood friends before the attack. Sometimes, I do hear her voice talking in my head, like she's always with me. '
'I can see the connection. '
'Yeah. It's more like a sisters connection, I'd say. She told me I should live for her, I lived for myself. Just in case I die, please鈥� ' She paused, tears leaving her eyes.
' Hey, you're not dying, okay. Because the Moon Goddess said so, remember?"
' There is nothing between light and darkness. This is witchcraft Sophie is practicing, and nature or even Zeus has no business with witchcraft. If they do, they would have released the beast a long time ago. I'm gonna die, I can feel it. '
'I don't care, but all I do know is that no one is going to take you away from me. I don't know how you survived losing Camila, but I don't think I can survive losing you. So I'm not gonna believe you're dying, cos you're not. '
Desire yawned. 'It's three days now. I just can't wait for Prince Riel to take over. I'm pretty sure when he does, that witch will be as good as dead and everything will be back to normal. '
' Seems you're getting a lot hope on this Prince Riel." She smiled. 'I remember back then when I was so much desperate just as you are now. I make sure that before I close my eyes to sleep, I read his history over again. I even made him as my night prayers. '
She chuckled. ' I always imagine him sitting on the throne, and every single man would smile on seeing him. But now, it's all gone. The hope, the prayers, the connections, it's all faded."
'You still have a chance to reconcile with him."
'I don't want to. I don't want it to look like my reconcilation with him is all because I'm scared of dying. Let those who have fate in him, keep to their fate."
Desire spent almost the whole night with her. She wanted to keep her company and not to feel alone before her death.
Before she left the cave, she looked at Desse for the last time. 'I know I can't take away your love for her, but I hope to have a place in your heart too. Good night, Jane."
If there is any one to tell her that there was hope to live, she has so many reasons to doubt that.
Right now, she has only one thing to regret. She won't witness the death of Matt.
This has always been her wish, but now, it was a hurtful wish. She knew his betrayal was never his fault, he was just so weak to her spell. Which any other person would be.
'Matt." She sniffed. 'Matt, why did you do this to me?"
She felt pains in her head, a heavy one. It just came without a sign.
Her hand couldn't reach her head as she tried to massage it. 'Fu*k!" She grunted.
She struggled with the chains, each second the pains increases. 'No. What's happening to me?"
The pains went round her body, and she began to shiver like she was having a fever.
She thought this was her own death. A death without an execution. Of all names she knew, only one came out of her mouth.
'Riel!!!" She screamed.
