Chapter 98:
Alley POV:
"Mommy! Daddy! You came back! Do you have booboos?" Danny asked running up to us looking over us, "No little man we are just fine." Stephen chuckled. "He has been anxious since you all left." Ember said, walking behind him. I still can't get over the fact that she is here now. This will be very good for Danny and I know we won't have to worry about his protection. "We do need to tell you both something, it is nothing bad though." I said, trying not to worry them. Danny sat down in front of us leaning against Ember who rested her head on top of his. "We are going to have some visitors within the hours. Those visitors are children of all the rogues." I said. Danny looked unbothered while Ember growled. "How can we trust rogues?" Ember asked. "Jeremy gained control of them, Bosch told them that he was holding their long lost king hostage and would release him if they fought against me." I replied. She narrowed her eyes at me, "I want to listen to them speak and will tell if they are truthful or not." Ember said, fair enough her and Danny have that ability. "That is fine, you and Danny can go with us when they arrive, just know that we won't be able to keep you a secret." Stephen replied.
"Everyone will find out sooner or later, I wish it could have been later but this is too important. I can not allow rogues to come in without checking them out myself." Ember said. Well I can't argue with her, time will only tell how much we can trust them but Jeremy has been trustworthy since then and they did admit that there is a way for rogues to be saved and maybe, just maybe this is our way to save them. "Luna, Alpha, the empty houses have been cleaned and stocked with food and essential items and we have selected the non-mated omegas that will stay in each of the houses with them." The young omega said. "Thank you for getting things done, we really appreciate it." I replied. She bowed her head and walked out. "Alley they are here." Tye said through our link. "Well let's go meet our new little friends shall we?" Stephen said standing up. Danny quickly climbed on to Embers back and by the look in her eye she was ready to kill should any of them do something wrong. We really need to work on her facial expressions.
As we walked out we were joined by our group which now included Jeremy and Cassandra. "Are you ready?" I asked, looking at Jeremy. "As ready as I'll ever be I suppose. I just didn't think it would happen this soon you know?" Jeremy replied, sounding a little nervous. "Hey man you're going to do great. They've been looking for you because they need you." Stephen replied. "But what if I end up just like my dad? He was a monster and I never wanted to be like that." Jeremy replied. "You know deep in your heart that you won't be like him. From what I have heard about your dad you are the opposite my love." Cassandra said soothing him the best she could. "We will be here to guide you through it all, you are not alone." I said, smiling at him. "I don't want to be known as a rogue anymore, I walked away and now I am going back." Jeremy replied. "There is a way to save you all, while we were with the goddess the wolves there told us that it is possible." I replied. "Are you serious? We don't have to be rogues anymore?" Jeremy asked. "That is another reason why I am here, to help." Ember chimed in. "That will have to wait until after the battle though." Stephen said.
As we neared the edge I could see figures standing in human form. Roughly 50 people, maybe less, Jeremy and Cassandra stepped in front of us and led us the rest of the way. The children stood close together and the sight of them broke my heart, they were skinnier than they should be, filthy clothes and looked to have not bathed in months. How could someone treat them like that? They looked scared beyond their own limits. "My king, these are all of our children." Nate said. We each looked at all the children and I just couldn't get over how mistreated they have been. "Are we safe here?" A little girl asked. Ember and Danny pushed their way to the front while Ember kneeled down letting Danny slide off of her. As Danny walked closer Ember towered over him making sure he was under her head at all times. "You are safe here with my mommy and daddy. You look hungry though." Danny said, eyeing the children. None of them looked at him. I could smell the fear rolling off of them. "Are all of you hungry? We have lots and lots of food! Apples are really yummy." Danny said excitedly, one little girl looked at Danny. "We are very hungry and tired." She whispered.
