Chapter 88:

Alley POV:

If I haven't said this enough, this place is beautiful, there are so many wolves around, we have seen the huts they live in and the endless supply of different types of food that Athea gives to them. They have an area for all the pups to play and exercise while the adults train. I've never seen anything like it, when they train they fight hard with each other and no matter how bloody it's supposed to be none of them bleed or feel pain. I guess that's what it is supposed to be like here, no pain at all. It's what makes them strong, it's what makes them who they are. "What about the rogues? Where are they?" I asked, since we have been here we haven't seen any of them. "They don't come from a place like this. What you don't know is Athea has a sister, she holds a place for all things bad." Rose replied. Whoa wait a minute, Athea has a sister? Since when? Why haven't we heard anything about it? "How come we haven't heard about her?" Stephen asked. "Because her sister prefers to remain hidden, she isn't thrilled with the job she has, she accepts it though. Once a rogue is killed they go to her and never get reborn." Rose replied.
So a place filled with rogues, meaning deadly rogues now that is a place I would not want to go and visit. "If rogues are good wolves turned bad then they come from here right?" I asked, trying to piece it all together. "If our mate is killed something within us snaps. We lose half of ourselves and can't control the pain and anger. Some of us are strong enough while others are not. Some are given second chances only to ruin them." Denver replied. As I looked around to all the wolves here it was hard to think that some of them would turn to rogues. That's not a way to live. "How do we stop it from happening?" I asked, there has to be a way right? "It's a tough road to accomplish, but you've already started by finding the king of the rogues." Rose replied. "So Jeremy is the key?" Stephen asked. That would make sense I guess, he doesn't seem bad at all. "He is in a way, he must rein them all in and rule over them but in a different way than before, wolves can be saved." Rose said. I knew it! I knew they could be saved. "What would happen in a world with no rogues?" Stephen asked. Could that even be possible? "Well Atheas sister would probably ask that the wolves sent to her be saved, it would be peaceful and long ago there was a world like that until dark witches and vampires came about, I'm not entirely sure they can all be saved." Denver replied, nuzzling his head in my lap as we sat down.
I scratched behind his ears only to have his tongue flop out of his mouth making me giggle. "You are spoiled Denver '' I giggled. "Asshole over there never let's me out to visit with you, that is just so mean Alley." Denver huffed. Stephen glared at Denver who in turn winked at him. Men. "Well how about we start letting y'all visit with us? Although it won't be the same but at least once a week? How does that sound?" I asked, looking between the two overgrown sized wolves. "I would like that." Rose replied, licking Stephens face. "I would too, you really are a good person Alley. I'm glad Athea chose us to be with both of you." Denver replied. I laid my head on top of his and laid an arm around his neck. "Y'all are the best, even though you both can be a pain in the ass." Stephen replied. "So is there anything else we need to know about the both of you? We know you are siphoners and all around badass but is there anything else?" I asked, lately they've given us free rein over everything. "We have told you both everything. Well except one thing." Rose replied. "What is it?" I asked. What else could it be? I mean what they do is pretty amazing. "We can merge, and not like we take over of shift, like actually merge in to one person but only when the situation is dire." Denver replied.
Hold it. Merge? Like a big ass wolf human? "You ever heard the rumors of Lycans? They aren't real by the way but have you ever seen the drawings of them?" Rose asked. "I've seen drawings of them, they are like made up stories right? Something to scare kids so they stay out of the woods at night." Stephen said. Now that I think of it I have heard of the stories humans would tell the children, little did they know we are wolves and not lycans. "The very same. We are able to turn into a version of them. Only much more powerful, since we can siphon and pull from the element you won't wear down at all." Rose said. Interesting. So we can turn into a giant figure. "To do that we have to feel majorly threatened or angered. We have to work as one equally." Denver said. "But we can't do that unless we are threatened and super angry. Why not any other time?" I asked. "Because it can be too painful at times. In order to do that you have to accept it. It comes more naturally then. Think of it as a hidden talent you two have. You'll be nearly impossible to kill." Denver replied. "Why wait until now to tell us?" Stephen asked. That's a good question honestly. "Because in the upcoming battle we will merge. Be faster, stronger more resilient, you will be able to spread the shield with no issues and Rose and Alley will use the elements more fiercely." Denver replied.
