Chapter 103:
Alley POV:
"Some will just have to bunk together and I want all the kids close by, I also want more cellar rooms installed quickly for when things break out, they don't need to be that far for safety." I said looking around. "We can place cellar rooms close to the houses and assign them accordingly. That way we have room for everyone." Stephen replied. "Any other ideas?" I asked, looking around. "Do you think we can get this all done without anyone noticing?" Emma asked. I looked over to Jeremy whose eyes were glazed over and I knew he was speaking to Nate. "Midnight tonight is when they are going to be sending out spies to get a number of how many people are within the packs." Jeremy stated. "We need to move quickly. It's only 9:00AM so we have roughly twelve hours to get everyone moved and get the cellars done. Tell everyone to pack light, we will stock the essentials so they just need clothes." Stephen said. "Let's get a move on then. Send out the word through the link and have them ready to move within the next two hours." I stated standing up. We have a lot of work to do in a short amount of time. Right now I need to find Danny and Ember and tell them what all is going on. "Ember can you and Danny please come to the house?" I asked through the link. "On our way." Ember replied. Everyone else scattered to get things moving along so that we could have everything situated before everyone arrived.
"I will have Brandon, Tye, Alex and Jackson start the placements on the cellars and our warriors to build them quickly." Stephen said, kissing the top of my head. I ran down stairs to be met with Danny who looked bothered by something as he sat on Ember's back. "Danny come here my sweet boy." I said, extending my arms out to him. He jumped into my arms and I cradled him closely. "What is wrong?" I asked, walking to the couch and sitting down, he curled into a ball and buried his head in my neck. "Danny sweetie what is wrong?" I tried to get him to talk to me. "He can't tell you. It is what he is seeing." Ember stated. What could be so bad that is making him like this? I don't want him to worry about anything. "What can I do to help?" I asked, starting to feel hopeless. The more I looked at him the more my heart sank. Will it always be like this for him? Jack, Stephen and Sammie burst through the front door and walked over to us. "Alley what's wrong?" Stephen said, looking from me to Danny who was still curled in my lap. "Something is wrong, he can't tell me because it is what he is seeing." I replied, feeling my eyes start to burn.
"What can he tell us?" Jack asked. "It is of the battle. It will be gruesome and he is seeing images." Ember finally said. Why is he seeing those?! "Why? He shouldn't be seeing those. That is to much for him." Stephen said. "I don't know honestly." Ember replied, sounding sad. "So what can we do to help?" I asked. "I will be okay mommy." Danny squeaked out. "What do you need us to do?" Stephen asked, squatting in front of us. "Be safe please daddy. I want everyone safe." Danny said, hugging Stephen. "The images are starting to go away, he will be fine I promise. We already know what will happen and before anything happens I will take Danny to the cellar that is here so do not fear for him." Ember said. Well at least we don't have to give them the rundown of what is going to happen. "Danny why don't you go run some water on your face, it'll make you feel better." I said, kissing his head. "I will take him." Sammie stated. As Danny climbed off my lap he slid his little hand into Sammie's and they walked to the bathroom, I shifted my gaze on Ember. "What are you not saying." I asked, narrowing my eyes. "I can't say much as you know. Just be safe. The plan y'all have will work but many will be hurt and very few will die. I will protect those who are in the cellar with us. I advise at least one be shifted inside to make the children feel more safe." Ember replied. At least I know our plan will work but as far as those who will be injured I know Rose and I can heal them.
We have a lot to do before the spies for Bosch comes out and I know we can do it. We are closer to ending all of this, we are closer to having peace back in our lives. To start a brighter future and a safer future for everyone, we just had to get through the absolute worst before we achieved it.
This is it. This is the calm before the storm.
