Chapter 104:
Alley Pov:
While the others were tucked away in bed the rest of us stayed awake with the trackers and warriors who patrolled the borders waiting to see if anyone showed up. "The first sign of trouble within any pack we sound the alarms and make sure all the women and children are safe." Stephen said as he sat on the couch. "Part of me wants to do it now. The children would sleep through it all at least." I replied pacing around the room. "If something were to happen we don't want them to be asleep when it does. They need to be able to get away." Emma said. That is true, but even so if something happens in the middle of the night they would have to wake them all up and get them to the cellar in time. "I guess I'm just over thinking, I just want to make sure everyone who is not fighting is safe." I replied. "When do y'all think he will try to strike?" Jasmine asked. "Sometime tonight, if anyone feels something get through the shields we need to move everyone right then." Josh said. I swear waiting is like being a pup again on Christmas, you know you're getting presents but you have to wait all night for morning and time moves way too slow. "Has anyone heard from the border patrols?" Austin asked.
"I haven't heard anything, It's okay a little after midnight maybe they are staking out the other territories before they come here." Stephen replied. They are trying to take out those who can't protect themselves first. "Is anyone hungry?" Stefanie asked, "I could use some snacks honestly." Diane replied. "Yeah I could too, anyone need a drink?" I asked, looking around. "How about we just grab whatever and bring it back and let y'all get what you want, come on Alley." Chloe said as she stood up and walked towards the kitchen. We left the men so they could talk about whatever it is men talk about. "Ladies, if we make it through all of this I am adopting y'all as official family." Emma stated smiling at all of us. "Y'all can have Chloe she is mean as hell sometimes." Jasmine said as she smirked. "Look who's talking bitch you can be just as mean." Chloe scoffed. Oh here we go, the sisters bickering. Not going to lie, it is kind of funny. "At least I'm not the one who got gum stuck in my hair and tried to cut it out myself." Jasmine retorted. "You stuck gum in my hair and cut it out!" Chloe huffed. "Well you shouldn't have tried to take my clothes then." Jasmine said, sticking out her tongue. "Alright you two that's enough." Collin said from the other room. The rest of us couldn't help but giggle watching the two of them.
I miss seeing my brothers and parents, with everything going on they have been taking care of their pack which I don't mind and they do come first but watching Chloe and Jasmine really makes me miss my ridiculous brothers. Alex and Brandon have become like my brothers and I can't wait for the four of them to find their mates. "Someone just crossed our shield." Diane said as her eyes swirled blue like a hurricane was about to hit. "Get everyone up and get them to the cellars now!" Stephen shouted through the link. "I'll get Danny and Ember." I said running towards the stairs, I didn't wait for anyone to reply back to me. I could hear the shouts coming from everyone responding to get everyone safe. I walked into Danny's room and saw them both standing in the middle of the room, Danny was fully dressed. "I'm scared mommy.." Danny whispered as tears filled his little eyes. "Don't be scared sweetheart, everything will be just fine. Stay with Ember okay? You both stay in the cellar and you will be safe. I promise." I said as I picked him up and ran my fingers through his hair. He wrapped his little arms around me and we walked out of the room with Ember behind us. "Where is daddy?" Danny asked. "I'm right here buddy." Stephen replied at the end of the hall. "They've entered Stefanies and Joshs territory, we need to move quickly." Stephen said, looking down at me.
"Alright you two let's get you safe okay?" I said holding Danny tighter to me as we walked down the stairs. Everything is happening and I'm not scared for my life but for the people around me, mostly Danny who has already seen the outcome and now we have to actually live it. Please Athea if you can hear me block his images of this fight, he doesn't deserve to see it again. I chanted those words in my head hoping Athea would hear me and agree that Danny doesn't need to keep seeing it. His Ember eyes were wide and bright as we walked out the front door. Everyone was being quiet and calm so we didn't give anything away, the closer we got to the cellar the harder my heart was twisting. I'd have to say goodbye to Danny for goddess knows how long and it hurts. Stephen was tensed next to me and I knew he felt the same way as I did. As Stephen opened the door I saw all the kids and women that would be safe here. "Danny!" A little girls voice rang out and I recognized it to be Kayla's little voice. "Kayla!" Danny shouted back smiling at her. I placed him on the ground but he didn't move at first, he turned to me and Stephen with a serious look on his face. "Be safe mommy and daddy." Danny said as he hugged our legs. "I love y'all so so much!" Danny said as he looked up to us I felt my throat go dry. Crap this is really hard. "We love you too Danny and we will be safe." Stephen said. "I promise we will come back." I stated bending over to kiss the top of his head.
