Chapter 124:
Alley POV:
Julie picked up the little wand and placed it on my belly, I held my breath not taking my eyes off the screen, "Come on little bean where are you hiding?" Julie whispered as she pulled the screen towards her. Before I knew it the sound of a little heartbeat filled the room. "Is- is that little one's heartbeat?" Stephen whispered, clutching my hand. "It is, just give me a second." Julie replied, moving the little wand around more. "Well look at that." Julie whispered. I could hear my own heartbeat filling my ears and my blood pumped through it hard. I started breathing harder, "Look at what? What is it? Is the baby okay?" I hammered out questions like my life depended on it, "Alley, deep breath the babies are fine." Julie said as an ass splitting grin came across her face. "I'm sorry what?" Stephen asked. "The babies, plural." Julie replied, turning the screen towards us. "Babies? More than one? WHAT?!" I jerked my head to look at the screen and what I saw could have made my heart stop on the spot. Two little beans were bobbing around. "Two babies to be exact, congratulations Stephen and Alley, they are twins!" Julie said. Twins, I have twins. There are two babies inside me. Holy shit. Oh my goddess. "TWINS!" Stephen yelled and jumped up. "Alley? Are you okay?" Julie asked, am I? Twins. Holy crap! This isn't what I was expecting.
"I am okay, this is just shocking is all." I replied, looking at the screen. "I'll print some pictures off and then send you on your way, you will feel more tired since you're carrying twins so you must take it easy, do not over exhaust yourself." Julie said. "Yes ma'am, is there anything I can do to help conserve energy?" I asked. "Not really, take your vitamins everyday and stay hydrated." Julie replied as she cleaned the jelly stuff off. "I want to see you twice a month from now on and each appointment we will determine if we need extras." Julie said, Stephen helped me sit up and I looked up to his bright blue eyes and all I saw was pure happiness. Julie handed me the pictures and smiled at me, "It's going to be okay Alley I promise. Just relax." How am I going to carry twins? I hope my back won't break. Maybe it will be a boy and a girl? They can share a room and of course we will have to pick a color that doesn't favor one over the other. "I can't wait to tell everyone! This is so exciting! Danny is going to be the happiest boy in the world." Stephen said beaming as we walked back towards our house. The more it sank in the more I started getting excited about it. Two babies, two mirror images of me and Stephen, Danny is going to be incredibly happy. He has been waiting for siblings and now he has two of them! What about names? "Can you believe it? Twins! Oh goodness I am so excited!" I said.
Stephen picked me up and planted a kiss on my cheek. "Thank you so much princess, you have no idea how happy you have made me." Stephen whispered before he crashed his lips to mine. A giggle escaped my lips, "Well without you I couldn't have done this you know." I replied, smiling back. This was going to be one of the greatest adventures we would be embarking on and honestly I can't wait. Here it to new beginnings.
