Chapter 42:

Bosch POV:
Sheer anger ran through me, how are they so strong? I can't move forward with my next plan of attack so I suppose I will have to improvise. "I gave you the information about that mutt and you went off and told him!" I shouted at Atsila who looked unfazed. "It was a mistake but I did not know he would figure it out so soon." He replied his eyes burned with pure hatred for me. I knew he hated me for what I did but he wouldn't be persuaded otherwise. "Where is she?" He asked, his body visibly starting to shake. "Don't worry your mutt of a mate is safe for now." I said with a sinister smile. "I want her back. I did my part and no one will trust me after this. Just give her back!" He shouted "You will accompany me to have a nice chat with them and then you will both be released. She is just as useless as you are." I said. Even though it was just words it had looked as if I slapped him across the face. "Why would I accompany you anywhere? She is not useless, she has had to endure your torture and yet she hasn't been broken."
It was true. After all we had put her through she didn't dare break nor did she shed a tear. No matter how many times she was burned, beaten with whips, or cut up she never once cracked. "You will accompany me to have a chat.I need to get a better look at how strong they truly are, so that I can plan my next move." I said, sounding bored of his presence. "You will not win Bosch." He spat. "I always win. There are ways to get stronger and you know if I were to kill you now all your power will be mine." My voice was laced with venom. I had figured out how to capture their power, all I had to find was the dagger which was made with all five elements, they hid it well and it took me years to find it, with a little help from the dark witches and my blood the spell that was cast is to ensure the power would find its way to me by my blood.
"When shall we go? The faster this is over with, the faster I will be free of you." He spat, I knew he truly hated me like many others. The door opened and in walked the person who came to me and told me about little Alley. "What have you found out about the twins?" I asked. When she didn't answer I turned to look at her. She had lost the life that was once in her eyes. I could tell how badly she wanted Alley dead, she would sleep with anyone who promised they could do it. She wore a skimpy red dress with her hair tied back loosely. "Bethany I won't ask again." I snapped. Her head snapped up "I haven't found much, it is said that they could possibly be the protectors but i'm not sure how that happened if you truly killed them all." She said with a shrug. How dare she question me, in the blink of an eye I grabbed her by the throat and lifted her off the ground. Her hands grabbed at mine as she thrashed her body to get free. The more she moved the more my grip tightened around her frail neck. "Are you questioning me?" I snarled, her eyes widened and she frantically shook her head. I released her hearing her drop like a sack of potatoes gasping for air.
I didn't bother to look at her, "What did you find about their wolves?" "I haven't found anything out, there is no book that mentions why they look like that." She whispered "What good are you if you can't do simple research?" I snapped looking down at her. "What about the shield? Is there anything we can do about it?" Hoping she had found some good news for a change but judging by the look on her face it wasn't anything good. "I can tell you that nothing can pass it. If it has a hint of dark magic or anyone has ill intentions they'll Parrish, the point of those gifts are for sheer protection. You or anyone you know will pass through it." Atsila said. "He is right, the book I found said the same thing, there is no way for any of us to get through to it, we will die if we try." She stated. "They will also know when someone touches it." Atsila said with bitterness in his voice. "There must be a way to break it. Find it!" I shouted at her, making her jump and scurry out of the room.
"Don't you dare leave, I am going to clean up and we are going to pay them a little visit." I stated walking out of the door and towards my room. There has to be a way to break it. I've lived long enough and not once came across anyone stronger than me. Is the moon goddess punishing me for what I've done? All Davina had to do was bestow my spirit element and the bitch refused. I never liked the thought of being second best to my sister who never worked for anything a day in her life. She never had to prove herself to anyone, I on the other hand had to bust my ass to prove myself worthy of their presence. I was her brother! She chose that stupid dog over me. We were supposed to be a team and be the chosen leaders of the moon goddess and she walked away because she mated with him! We had a duty, even though she tried to balance the two she had the nerve to banish me after I lost my temper. She had everything she could ever want. Power, love, money, all the happiness she could ever want. She never had to work for any of it.
